After school, I went to my locker to put away my stuff and go home with Fiona. Twisting the handle, I tried to open the locker. It didn’t budge. I tried harder again, thinking that a book inside was getting in the way. No use. “What’s wrong with this?” I asked myself, confused. That’s when I heard muffled laughter. I turned around to see several boys nearby watching me and laughing. “looks like you got Morted!” one of them said chuckling. Morted? That got me fuming mad. Once you get tricked by Tyler’s Morte gang, you just got morted by the Mortes.
“Tyler, you devil!” I said to myself angrily. Giving it all my strength, I pulled the door open with a loud noise. “how did he get it to be stuck so firmly?” I asked myself, looking inside. There, in the upper left corner was a large, fat magnet. I groaned with anger. Seriously??? Why in the world he kept this thing in my locker?? Doesn’t he have better things to do than this??? Stuffing my books inside, I grabbed the magnet with both hands and pulled. It was stuck there really hard. After I yanked at it really hard, it came off. I almost lost my balance and fell, but I managed to hold on to the locker door. “oh! I am gonna stick this thing to your forehead really tight so you cant ever take it off!!!” I said angrily at Tyler. By that time, the group of boys was laughing really hard now.
“Hey, Luna, what’s wrong? And what is that in your hand?” Fiona asked as she saw me looking angry. “Fiona, honey, you wait outside the school for me. I have something to do before hitting the road.” I told her. “Okay! Be quick!” she replied cheerfully.
Shutting the locker door hard, I stomped towards the private dining room of Tyler. I knew he’d be there as they usually hang out there after school, always. There was a high class stair that leads to the lower floor. I saw large open windows all over the place as I came down. At one end of the semi circular room was a high class bar. Two large circular sofas were placed in the center of the room, along with a transparent coffee table. On one side was a new looking pool table, while on the other side there were vending machines. Crystal like elegant lights was mounted on the walls which were painted in a brilliant shade of silver-green. Man, are these people rich or what? Do they have so much money that they are tired of it and trying to get rid of it?
But all of those thoughts were faded when I saw Tyler, comfortably sitting on the black sofa, sipping at a drink. I observed him; he was wearing a blue striped turtle neck shirt. Perfect for my plan! He was unaware that I was standing near the doorway. Anger bubbled in me as I stomped up to him. With a quick and swift move, I slipped the piece of magnet down the back side of his shirt. He yelled out in surprise louder than I expected, spilling the drink all over him. James and Ken were watching the whole thing, and were laughing like mad now. Tyler went around, trying to get the magnet out of his shirt, jumping and jogging and hopping and yelling “get it out!! Get it out!!” To be honest, I was laughing without even realizing it! I mean, someone who acts so cool and tough like that is jumping around, scratching his back and yelling now! How funny is that?!
Finally, the magnet fell down from the other end, making it seem like he just pooped, and that made me, James and ken laugh even harder! Tyler turned around and looked at me. “What did you do that for?!” he cried out. But I was laughing too hard to speak even! In a second, I managed to catch my breath. “Ask that to yourself, pooper!!” I exclaimed, half laughing and half trying to be serious. “What?! Pooper??!.... Hey! You are the one who made me look like one!! And I am all wet now!” he said, rubbing his hair, drenched with juice. “Well, you are the one who got that magnet stuck in my locker in the first place! Serves you right!” I exclaimed, glaring at him. “Wow, Luna! Just Wow! We never knew you are that much of a daredevil! I am impressed!” ken said when he caught his breath. James was still laughing to say anything. “Shut up, you two!” Tyler mumbled.
“Don’t worry, it will wash off.” I told him, grinning. I noticed that his hair was dripping with juice, so I took out my napkin and placed it in his hands. His expression changed the moment my hand touched his. He looked at me with his honey brown eyes. I couldn’t help but stare at him too. Wait, what am I doing? I realized and blinked my eyes. Wow. That felt strange. What just happened?
“d-dry off with that for now.” I said stammering. “And next time, don’t play tricks on me!” I exclaimed, trying to be angry. Tyler just stood there, holding on to the napkin. “Trying to be a prankster. Who does he think he is? Pooper!” I mumbled as I walked out of the room. But that was kind of funny… you know? Maybe he is not that bad after all…
