As he said those words tears started forming in his eyes. I leaned over and hugged him, and he just broke down.
"Why wouldn't they want me? What did I ever do to deserve this?" He kept repeating questions like these over and over.
I couldn't think of anything to say so I just held him in my arms while he cried into my shoulder.
"Do you want to go back to my house?" I asked after Luke calmed down a bit.
"Can we?" He asked, looking at me with tear stained cheeks and red, puffy eyes.
"Yeah, we can just skip school" I said taking his hand and rubbing my thumb on the back of it.
He wiped his eyes and started the car. We were at my house in no time.
We got out of the car and walked to the door. I unlocked the door and went inside, Luke followed close behind me.
Luke sat on the couch then pulled my waist down so that I sat next to him. He rested his head on my shoulder, and I wrapped my arms around him.
"Tomorrow is Friday" I said hoping Luke would get the hint, that I was talking about our date.
"I know, and I have everything planned out." He said in a soft, quiet voice.
"What movie are we gonna see?" I asked looking at him.
"It's a surprise." He said with a small smile on his face. I looked down at him.
He is a good guy, why would his parents do this to him? I hate seeing him put on a fake smile, trying to let me think he is okay, when in reality he is broken.
We sat there in silence, leaving each other to their own thoughts.
After an hour, I finally spoke up. "If you need somewhere to stay, I would be happy to let you stay here."
"You would let me stay here?" He asked, shocked by what I said. I nodded my head answering his question.
His grip on my waist grew tighter as he said "Thank you so much, you don't know how happy I am right now"
His sad face was replaced by a beautiful smile.
We fell asleep in each other's arms and that's how it was for most of the day.
I woke up and saw Luke was still asleep, he looked adorable, his quiff was slightly flattened, and he was quietly snoring.
While I waited for Luke to wake up, I got on my phone and scrolled through my twitter timeline.
After another 30 minutes, Luke finally woke up. He slowly sat up rubbing his eyes as he yawned slightly.
"Good morning" I said sarcastically, while laughing a little.
It was about 6:00 pm, so I thought I would order some pizza. Luke was still sitting on the couch while I called to order the pizza.
Ten minutes later, there was a knock at the door. I thought that it was just the pizza, but I was shocked to see who was standing behind the door.
