Chapter 7

(Final Chapter!)

I was finally settled into my new room. It’s been two weeks since I’ve been in the Senior boy’s area, and all I have to say is this, Senior guys are amazing. I realise how bad that sounds, but oh well. Kellin is being stupid and ignoring me, but I guess I deserve it. I was kind of mean to his girlfriend a couple of weeks ago.

It’s five in the morning right now, and I’m getting ready for classes. I changed the blue streak in my hair to pink last week, so when I put it up, you could kind of see where it stained my scalp. I’m a straight A student, and on the honor roll. I know right? I didn’t know I was smart either. I still hang out with the guys, but Kellin doesn’t like it. He still thinks that their stuck up. Whatever, It’s my life, not his.

“You ready?” Kellin asked. Since we only have one bathroom, were always in a rush to get ready. That’s why I wake up early.

“See, this is why I wake up early. To attempt to avoid your badgering me about hurrying up.” I said. He just rolled his eyes, and walked behind me. When he did that, his hand brushed over my butt. I really hope that it was just an accident.

“Hey, I’m really sorry for all of the things that I have done to make you mad….. I hope you can eventually forgive me.” He said. I mean, I really like him and all, but I’m not sure if I can for sure forgive him. He kind of lowered my self esteem, but I think for now I can manage it.

“I’m not sure. I’ll have to think about it. You kind of ruined me, in a way that may or may not make me not trust you. You lied to me about the girlfriend thing, so like I said, it will take me a lot of time for you to gain my trust back. Do you understand that? I really want to trust you, but I’m not too sure that If I open up my heart to you, you’re going to hurt it or not.” I explained. I hope he didn’t think that it was too much to do all of that stuff.

“I promise. I will not hurt you if it’s the last thing that I do.” He told me. He looked like he was being honest, too. I’m just not sure, though.

“I just don’t know. I haven’t properly met you, so you expect me to just say yes and go out with you? All I know is your name, and that you’re famous.” I told him. He seemed shocked that I stood up for myself, and to the fact that I turned him down.

“Okay. So, can I make it up to you?” He asked me.

“Depends, what are you thinking of?” I asked, being the curious me I am.

“Do you think that I could take you out on a date?” He asked, and I could see the hope in his eyes that I would say yes.

“Where, and when?” I asked him. He got a spark of excitement in his eyes. When that happened, I got worried.

“That’s a surprise. You’ll have to say yes, come with me, and then you’ll find out.” He told me. I hate surprises so much.

“Did my brother tell you that I hate surprises? You said my mom sent you here, so I’m just guessing that you talked to him.” I said. I think my guess was correct, because he just stood there and smiled like an idiot.

“I’m going to have to have a word with him the next time I see him.” I mumbled to myself. He laughed, and then we finished getting ready for our classes.

It was after class, and it was time for mine and Kellin’s date to where ever we’re going. I decided to go casual in jeans, a Breaking Benjamin tee shirt, and a pair of black on black Vans. I have this weird new obsession with Vans. It’s like my Jordans don’t exist anymore. I guess they got boring. I also dress different. I suppose with a famous person in my dorm, AND to the fact that he’s in the band that I love. I suddenly got a phone call from an unknown number.

Other person on the phone that I don’t know - Hey, when do you want to meet up?

Me - Who is this, and how did you get my number.

Other person - You know me, and you have my number. It’s called *67.

    Me - Is this Kellin?

Other person - You’re a straight A student for a reason, now aren’t you, Brogan?

Me - So, it is you?

Kellin - Duh. Now that we’re back on topic, are you ready?

Me - Yeah, but I don’t know where to go.

Kellin - Just walk out the door, and people will be standing in the hallway with 15 roses, and cards that will lead you to the place where I am at. Are you ready?

    Me - Not really.

    Kellin - GO!

And with that, he hung up on me. I just tried to ignore it, and walked out the door. Like he said, there were people hanging around the hallways holding roses. I thought that he was just messing around when he said that.

“Brogan, this flower and card is for you.” Said Jacob, the quarterback of the football team. He gave me the flower and card, then walked away. The card said:

You have found the first card. You will have to go to where we first met. We danced the night away, and then we played truth or dare. Go there to find your next rose and clue.

I thought that the card and rose was really sweet. Thank God that I didn’t wear a dress. With all of this walking I’m going to do, I’m glad I didn’t wear a dress and heels. I started heading down to the courtyard, and there was a lot of people there. I thought back to where we were. In the middle of the field on top of the hill. I went up there, and sure enough, there was another football player there will a rose and a card.

“Here you go.” Said the boy. I think it was Tucker, he’s the halfback.

“Thanks, but do you know where he is, exactly?” I asked him hopefully. He shook his head and walked away. I sighed, and looked at the card. This one said:

Looks like you have found the second clue. Where do you go when you eat lunch? If It’s not the lunch room, then what is it? Look to the left if you stand facing North. You see a big building, and there are a bunch of people there. Go there and find your next clue.

He was talking about the cafe. I hate going to the cafeteria, so I normally go there. I have no idea how he knows that, but oh well. I walked up to the building, and looked into the window. There was another football player sitting at one of the stools drinking coffee. I knew that one for a fact, because it was Stephen. I felt weird walking in and sitting next to him, only because he’s like my best friend. I wouldn’t go out on this date if he didn’t approve.

“Do you care that I’m going on this date?” I asked him. He looked over at me, and then smiled.

“I don’t care, as long as you’re happy. Just let me know if he hurts you. And just so you know, the last person at the last clue, came so far just to see you.” He said. He handed me the rose and the card, then walked away. What did he mean by that? I brushed it out of my mind, and opened the card. It was just a picture of a book. Then I thought, the library. That’s where the fourth clue is at.

I was finally at the eleventh clue, and I took the card from Paul. It was awkward, I have to admit that one, but it was nice to see him. The card said this:

You are finally going after the last clue. Go to where you came from at the very beginning. There will be a person there to guide you to where I am at, so be on the lookout.

Be on the lookout. I wonder what that meant. But all I know is that the last clue is waiting at the admin building where I was taken the first day. I started to walk there, and then I saw what he meant by you will see someone special. My brother was waiting there with the last rose, card, and he was holding a giant teddy bear that said ‘Little Sister’ on it. I thought that it was extreamly sweet that he came all the way to Boston to see me. I ran up to him and hugged him like my life depended on it.

“I missed you sooooo much!” I screamed. He laughed, and hugged me back. it was good to see him, but something told me that he wasn’t happy.

“What’s wrong?” I asked him. He looked at the ground, but he looked sad.

“I never wanted you to go to Styler Academy, everything is different without you. I want you back home, and so does mom. But for now, here.” He said while handing me the rose, card, and giant teddy bear. I grabbed it out of his hands, and opened the card. It said:

You have finally reached the last clue, now there’s something for you to do. Walk to the place where it all happened, and then go to where I asked you this question.

I thought for a little bit, but then I thought. He was sitting in our room the whole time. How could I be so clueless? I walked into the dorm, and of course, there he was sitting on his bed reading.

    “Why?” Was all I asked.

“Because, you needed to get your lazy butt out of bed.” He simply told me.

    “Whatever, so. About that date?”

“Oh yeah. I have something better to ask you.” He stood up and walked over to me.

“Will you be my girlfriend?” He asked. It felt like a million butterflies tried to get out of my stomach.

“Of course. I’ve been waiting for you to ask me for a long time.”
