Chapter 1: A ticket to another world
My name is Julie Gemma Anderson, a simple girl from nowhere land with middle long dark brown hair, emerald green eyes, a fair even skin tone and a set of teeth that do sit perfectly even I would say. And last but not least, a small pretty pink mouth that has never been kissed..
My life changed the day I went on an unforgettable journey.
"Yes! Is it true? Are we going?" I ran into the living room where my folks were sitting, I overheard them talking about a trip to Australia. " What are you doing? Did you eavesdrop?" my dad looked up from his book. "Sorry, I kinda overheard it. So are we going?" I said sheepishly.
"You are going." My mom said quietly, "Wait, what? Me, does that mean me alone?" were they going to let me go alone? "Yes, we wanted to give you this trip as an appreciation of the things you have done for us when your mother was sick. We love you so much, and we know you are able to be on your own, so this is only for you sweetheart. Do you think you can handle it?" my father smiled gently.
"Oh, thank you, thank you, thank you! I love you guys, I can't wait to go! When am I going? And for how long?" I ran over and hugged the life out of my folks.
"Alright, alright. Your mother and I discussed this. You are leaving in two weeks, from tomorrow. And we decided that if you want, you can go for 4 months. And with all the money you have saved from work you can use that, and of course we will give you money, if you need it when you are there" my dad looked at me confidently.
"Oh wow, 4 months, this is going to be so awesome! Thank you! I have to tell Da..." my smile faded, I wanted to tell my best friend about the trip, but then I remembered that I couldn't because she was no longer here.
She died last year in a car accident, she died instantly and I was in the car beside her. It was last year around January, it was cold and dark. She, Dani, was driving the car, when suddenly a car came from out of nowhere. It hit us from behind, Dani tried to brake, but the road was too slippery, so the car slid all the way into a big tree.
The car hit the tree where Dani was sitting. After that I really couldn't remember much, everything was black. I remember waking up at the hospital asking for Dani.
The doctors said that she didn't make it and everything stopped, my whole world crumbled in that very moment. Dani was the perfect friend. We did everything together, we shared happy and sad moments, helped each other through it all.
She would always tell me how beautiful I was and that someday I would find a guy that will love me for me.
She always believed in me, she gave me the strength to live everyday, and when my mother was sick she helped me through it. Dani was beautiful.
She had a beautiful mind, I mean she was just beautiful from the inside and out. She had long black hair, and hazel eyes so deep, and her skin was olive and perfect.
I couldn't have asked for a better and more perfect best friend. She always saw the best in people, she never judged anyone, she accepted everyones flaws.
Now I live everyday like it is my last, and I live by her motto: "Only you are the answer, and only you can make it happen. Make mistakes, fix them and live free."
Now I live like she used to do. Taking chances, making mistakes and fixing them. Even though my best friend wasn't here to share this trip with me, I was still excited to go.
This was for her too. And if she had been here she would have gone on this trip with me
