A.I // Change

Maia Millers is an ordinary girl with an ordinary life. Nothing special, that is until she meets Ashton Irwin. Ashton Irwin is not the biggest fan of changing. Especially not for a girl, but it seems like he WANTS to change for her. Ashton Irwin is just a player. When Maia falls for him, she reminds herself not to. Is that possible for Maia? Will they learn to accept each other or will they really have to change?

1. Chapter 1-My Living Hell

Maia's POV.

I walked down the empty halls of the school. I was late. Again.

I kept on worrying about being late for class, that I didn't even know where I was going. I bumped into someone.

"Watch where you're going." The voice said harshly.

"Oh, I'm sorry. Wasn't looking where I was looking." I didn't even need to look up. I already knew who this was.

"Whatever." He said.

I walked to class quickly, leaving Ashton Irwin in the hallway. He didn't need to worry about being late. He was going to skip class anyway.

I got to class being greeted with stares.

"Ms. Miller, would you like to explain why you are late to class today?" Mr. D' Angelo asked.

"Oh, um sorry sir. My alarm had not gone off today." I explained. This was an answer at least. Not saying it was an honest one, though.

"Hm, I'll see what I feel like you're punishment will be. For now, just make sure this is the last time you are late for class." Mr. D' Angelo said.

I nodded.

Oh, sorry. Forgot to introduce myself. I'm Maia Millers. I have straight brown hair and green eyes. That kid was Ashton Irwin. Let's just say that you wouldn't want him to target you. Anyway, get abused by my parents and I only have a brother who also gets beatings with me. I have only a few friends and I'll introduce them later on.. So, you could say I am something from out of the ordinary.

Anyway, he got on with the lesson. And the day dreaded on and on, until it was the end of the day. I waved bye to my friends Kylie and Emma who I usually hang out.

I got out of class and walked to my locker.

I put my unwanted books inside and rushed home. I knew that if I was late home, I will get an extra beating.

My parents were in the living room smoking. I tried to sneak past them, but I got caught.

"Aye, aren't you going to greet us? Or do you want a beating?" my 'dad' asked.

"Oh, um sorry. I was going to, um, put my things away first." I said, voice shaking.

He grunted and turned back to the telly.

I went upstairs and saw my brother on his room. I greeted him.

"Hey Jason." I said.

I looked at him. He seemed happy? Me and brother usually aren't happy. You know why.

"Why are you so happy today?" I said smirking. He is my twin. He is unfortunetly older.

He looked at me with the same green eyes.

He grinned and said,"Well, I met a girl."

"ooohh, looks like someone is in love..." I teased.

I love my brother. He understands me and I understand him. He is basically the only family that lives me.

"Oh shut up, I just met her." He says looking down blushing.

I giggled and went to my room.

Just when I put my stuff down, my parents called me and my brother down.

Oh, gods. It's time.

My brother waited for me.

"Go, or we'll get an extended beating." I said.

He nodded and headed downstairs, me trailing behind.

When we got to the bottom of the staircase, in a flash my brother was thrown down on the floor and I was being pulled by the hair.

"Stop, please." I pleaded.

My mother slapped me and my brother got kicked. She threw me on the ground next to my brother and she kicked my leg. Pain shot through my body. She kicked it again and this time, I heard a crack and I knew I broke my leg. I screamed.

"Shut up, bitch." My mother shouted at me.

Then, my brother screamed. He got kicked again. I hated to see my brother get hurt. My thoughts got interruped by a punch in the stomach. My father also punched my brother in the stomach too.

The beating was done in 10 minutes. Along with the name calling.

I tried to get up but failed. As soon as I tried the get up, I collapsed. My brother carried me up and bought us both to the park.

We got to the park and I wiped my tear-stained face.

"Thanks. I love you, big brother." I said quietly as he put me down on the bench.

"I love you too, little sis." He sniffed. I hugged him making me and him wince from pain. He hugged back. I don't really want to lose him.

Then, for some reason, I blacked out.
