Did she really just do that?! Oh, god, what should I do?!
England sighed, bringing me out of my thoughts. “So, you watch a show with me on it?”
“Who’s your favorite?”
“Uh… I think I should go after Zara…” He grabbed my arm, and if I wasn’t already red, I was now.
“Who is your favorite ‘character’?”
“No one…” I looked at the ground. “...except maybe…”
“Me.” I nodded sheepishly. He smiled. At me. At. ME. “Why don’t you come over to my place sometime? We could have tea and scones.”
“Whoa, dude, don’t kill the girl!” America budded into the conversation.
“I actually like scones, thank you.” I muttered.
“Sorry, dudette, I couldn’t hear you! Sounded like you said you liked his scones!”
“I did… at least he didn't burn down a kitchen... ”
“This dude burnt a bowl of cereal. I’m pretty sure he-at least once-burnt down a kitchen.”
“Well, whatever. Who cares, that’s what restaurants are for.”
“Juliana Kooke logic. Do not try to understand.” I said, paraphrasing one of the books I read. *Cough, Bloodlines series, cough*
Was it that obvious?!
“Was it really… obvious?”
“Not to someone who hasn’t read the series.” He looked at America.
“Don’t criticize my country! I have to live there, you know.” I flushed.
I instantly realized what I said.
“You live there?”
“Uh… It’s where I was born. To tell you the truth, I would rather live in Canada. You know, lots of bullying up in the Midwest.” He nodded.
I just killed the conversation…
“So, uh, you read Bloodlines? Have you read the latest book?”
“Yes, actually.” I covered my ears.
“Don’t spoil it, don’t spoil it!” I yelled, grinning. “I’ve been saving up money for it, so don’t spoil it!” England laughed. I pulled my hands from my ears. Then he opened his mouth and my hands flew back up to my ears. “I said don't spoil it!!” He laughed again. My day with the Hetalians was going amazing. But I suddenly realized that Zara wasn't here. “Oh, gosh, I have to go find Zara now!”
“Hey, do you have a cell phone?”
“Hand it to me.” I pulled it out of my pocket and gave it to him. He did something to it and gave it back. “I added my number. Call me if you need help, or find Zara.”
“Thank you.” I ran off. And found Zara very quickly.
A text is as good as a call…
I texted England that I had found her.
