I looked down at the cup of beer in my hands, refusing to take a sip of it. The ice cubes bobbed in a synchronized motion as I sloshed it around in my cup. I was sitting on a couch, looking at everyone. Lindsay left me to go with one of the guys she met not too long ago. But, the music pounded in my ears and the atmosphere was infused with the smell of marijuana and alcohol. Last time I was here, I was with Joey. I closed my eyes and remembered his arms wrapped around me and his breath against my skin as we danced. I could feel a smile spread across my face just at the thought of it.
"Why are you smiling?" I heard a low voice ask. I opened my eyes and saw a figure standing in front of me. I looked up and took in his face. He was so handsome. His hair was black and his eyes, a piercing blue, staring into mine. Before I could answer, he sat next to me while taking a sip of his drink. His knee was pressed against mine and I cleared my throat loudly as I pulled my knee away. He looked at me and then looked down at my drink.
"I've been watching you for about 15 minutes and you have not taken one single sip from that cup. What are you doing? Waiting for it to evaporate into thin air or something?" He asked with a smile. I looked at his teeth and they were perfectly aligned...then I looked up into his eyes and they were so beautiful, so blue; bluer than mine. He was extremely attractive and I felt myself smile back at him.
No, Chloe! STOP. Think of Joey...Joey only. Joey, Joey, Joey. But, his smile made me melt back into his blue-eyed gaze. "My names' Kevin. What's yours?" He asked, while looking me up and down. I sat up straight and I gripped onto my cup. "Chloe." I said, while I bit the inside of my cheek. "You know Chloe, I'd recommend you to drink your beer before it soils." He said, while smirking. I raised my eyebrow at him and he sat back while still staring at me.
"Well go on, drink it." He said, urging me on. I hesitated but I then looked down at it. I brought the cup to my lips and I let the beer pass my lips and down my throat. It burned its way down and my tongue felt stale. "Yuck." I said. But the after taste made me want more. You know how you drink or eat something and at first it tastes horrible but the taste makes you want more? Well...that's what's happened to me.He leaned his head back and laughed at my response to the beer. This made him even cuter.
"Here, I'll go get us another pack of beer." Kevin said, before leaving to get it. I didn't protest...But I should have.
