His eyes were a bright green and his smile...My God his smile. His tan skin made everything glow. He was gorgeous. Who am I kidding? He was practically perfect. He could tell I was staring at him and I could feel my cheeks redden immediately.
"Uh...Yeah." I whispered while biting my lip. I swear my face was as red as it could possibly get.
He laughed quietly and smiled at me. "My name is Joey. Joey Parker."
I smiled. "Chloe. Chloe Carlson."
I heard someone clear their throat, loudly, in front of the classroom. I looked up and saw Mr. Geruso glaring at us.
"Miss. Carlson and Mr. Parker, if this wasn't the first day of school, I would be giving you both detentions for speaking while I am talking. Consider this your first warning."
"Sorry, Sir." I said, embarrassed.
Mr. Geruso turned his attention back to the class.
"Chloe is a pretty name for a pretty girl." I turned and looked at Joey.
His smile spread from ear to ear and my legs felt like jelly. My heart was beating so loudly I swear the entire class could hear. No guy ever made me feel this way. Ever.
"Thank you. Same for you." I just realized I called him pretty. My eyes widened. "I mean your name suits you. You're really cute pretty. I mean if you want to be called pretty....I.... yeah." I turned away and I held my face in my hands and I shook my head.
I heard a quiet chuckle and I felt a hand pull my hands away from my face. "Don't hide that beautiful face of yours." Joey whispered. I began to smile a little as I felt a warmth in my heart.
"Chloe Carlson and Joey Parker! STOP TALKING." Mr. Geruso yelled. I looked at Joey and he brought his finger to his lips and shushed me and winked.
I heard a snicker on the other side of the classroom. I looked towards the direction of the snicker and I saw Nicole roll her eyes and shake her head.
I could tell this was going to be a great year...
