We are out of the hospital and Jacob is 100% healthy, Jayne and I are really happy, like we are even more in love then what we were before which I thought to be impossible. We are all staying at Brenda's house and she is happy with living with four boys and my parents. It's a lot of mouths to feed that's for sure.
I have a surprise for Jayne, I know she will love it. I've been trying to organise this since she was about 6 months pregnant. I just need to do a few finishing touches then it's ready. I can't wait to see her face once she finds out.
'Calum?' Jayne asks questioningly, snapping me out of my thought.
She turns the light off and lays next to me, wrapping herself around me.
'What? Sorry, I was just thinking.' I say turning around so we are face to face.
'It's ok, I just said we should go out for lunch tomorrow. It would be nice just to spend some quality time with you and Jake.' She wraps her arms around my neck and pulls me closer.
'Yeah, it sounds like a plan.' I say smiling even though she can't see me, then I kiss her passionately. I seriously can't wait for tomorrow, just me her and the little one.
Jayne is fast asleep but for some reason I just can't sleep. I untangle her from me and get up to go to the kitchen. I put on the kettle and wait for it to boil. Once it was done I get a mug and make myself a hot milk to help me sleep.
I walk back to Jayne's room and I hear little noises coming from Jacobs cot. I take a sip of my milk and go over to him. He is so beautiful it's like he isn't even human. I touch his little hand, which is sticking out of his blue blanket. His other hand is on his teddy. I fix up his blanket a little bit and smile. I can't believe someone so beautiful is my son. I hesitantly go back to my own bed. I finish my milk and wrap my arms around Jayne. This is how I want every single day of my life to be like. I close my eyes and slowly drift to sleep.
