I didn’t have to be woken up in the morning I just woke up automatically at 7:30 and snuck out to go to my room and get dressed. I found an outfit and threw it on before brushing out my hair. It’s just a white t-shirt that said beautiful with skinny jeans and a black leather jacket. I put on some black sunglasses too.
I met Katy in the hall and we walked to the Ball room.
“This morning we are both going to sing. You choose a song then I will and then you, so on and so forth until we get to 10. Do all my songs so I’ll know all the lyrics for sure.” Katy told me as we said hi to the people waiting there. They started murmuring when both of us walked up on stage. She looked at me and nodded, saying I could start whenever I wanted. I took a deep breath and started the lyrics.
“I’m wide awake.” I sang and the song took off from there. It was amazing how we were perfectly in tune with each other and we knew when to let the other sing and when to sing together. When we ended the song everyone clapped and we let the applause die down before Katy started the next song. Katy nudged me and I looked up to see Bailey and her friends walk in and sit down. They waved to us and I waved back.
“Days like this I want to drive away-ay” Katy sung and I instantly replied with;
“Pack my bags and watch your shadow fa-ade.” And we continued singing.
“This is the part of me that you’re never gonna ever take away from me!” We sang together, in complete sync and it sounded so cool. When the song finished the crowd was silent patiently waiting for the next song.
“This was never the way I planned, not my intention.” I began
“I got so brave, drink in hand.” She sang.
Then together; “Lost my discretion.”
“It’s not what.”
“I’m used to”
“Not how I should behave.” The song continued like the others and I never realized before how much fun singing with her in front of people was.
“Summer after Highschool….” We sang.
When we finished that song while people were applauding I whispered to her.
“Let’s start together this time, let’s do Dark horse.” She nodded and we looked at each other before starting.
“I knew you were.” We both sang together. We sang in sync up until the rapping part. Suddenly Cole jumped out from behind back stage.
“She’s a beast, I call her carma.” He sang and we all clapped along. I couldn’t stop laughing. He was really good but it just surprised me. When he started to finish me and Katy picked up our mics and I sang.
“So you wanna play with magic? Boy you should know what you’re fighting for.” And it continued on until the song ended. Katy and I wrapped our arms around Cole as everyone cheered.
“Cole Manson everyone.” I said into the mic and he hopped off the stage taking a seat.
“You, change your mind, like a girl changes clothes.” The next songs flew by.
“Do you ever feel, like a plastic bag.”
“I know a place, where the grass is really greener.”
“Oh no, did I get to close, yeah did I almost see, what’s really on the inside.”
“I lost myself in fear of losing you.”
Everyone cheered loudly when we finished and bowed, jumping off the stage. Katy grabbed my wrist and dragged me out of the room.
“Where are we going?” I asked. Go grab a swim suit and put some clothes on top. It’s really nice out today, we are going to the beach.” She said and ran to her room, I ran back to mine and threw a blue and white stripped bikini and an outfit on top.
Katy knocked on my door and I opened it. We both walked out into the sun filled streets and walked down the streets to the beach. There were only about 15 other people there and we stripped down to our bikinis and ran waist deep into the water. It was kind of cold but not that bad. I guess for Katy it would be so much worse considering she grew up in California.
“Oh my god it’s so cold!” Katy shivered and I laughed. I splashed her and she squealed, gaining the other people’s attention. Phones were up, recording, taking pictures. Katy splashed me back and I gasped. Someone from the beach tossed me a bucket and Katy’s eyes widened. I filled it with water and she turned around, the water splashing all over her back. She turned around and jumped at me but I dodged it. I ran as fast as I could back to the beach and dried myself off with the towel. Katy came up and grabbed me from behind getting me all wet again. I hit her with my towel and put my clothes back on.
“Katy, who is Brooke Manson?” A reporter asked as if I wasn’t even there.
“The most amazing person ever.” She answered nonchalantly and hugged me.
“How did you meet?”
“At my concert when she was 5.”
“What makes her so special?”
“There’s too much to say for me to explain in one day. Sorry, Brooke and I have to go.” She said and we rushed off.
“He was acting like I wasn’t even there.” I complained as we slowed to a walk.
“They do that. Sorry babe.” She said and I shrugged.
“Let’s just go to the arcade?” I suggested and pointed at the arcade across the street. She nodded and we rushed towards the neon colored shop. We put money into the machine and got 100 tokens. I walked over to the basketball game and put in 3 tokens.
“You can play basketball?” She asked and I smirked as the game started.
I shot the balls, not missing a single shot. I had 30 seconds to get as many goals as possible. (each one counted for 2) By the time 30 seconds was up I had 56 points. That’s 28 shots.
“Whoa.” Katy said as we walked to the next game.
“Acting and Sport is kind of my thing.” I said.
“Yeah, and music and fashion and nails.” She said. I blushed and she nudged me playfully. We played dance dance revolution and she totally owned me. We played the claw machine and a motor-cycle game. I one a cute little fluffy white teddy bear from the claw machine. I played deal or no deal and won the million. I played a game where you pull the lever and it gives you a free prize. It landed on 1000 tickets. By the time we were done we had 13652 tickets so we went to cash them in. We could choose a lot of prizes. I chose some earphones, a 20$ itunes card, a brand new sketch kit, with sketch pencils and art colored pencils and a 300 page professional sketch book, and I chose a kit with 2 kitten phone cases.
Katy got some phone cases too and an itunes card too, and I big blue fuzzy blanket, and a pair of fuzzy socks. We walked back to the hotel with our stuff and went to Katy’s room. I grabbed a hershy’s bar from the pile and nibbled at it while Katy curled her hair.
“What are you doing tonight?” I asked her.
“It’s a surprise.” She said. “But you’ll have to let me get your outfit picked out.” She handed me the curling iron and went up to my room to get an outfit. 10 minutes later she came back in and tossed me the outfit. I stripped into my bra and panties and pulled the outfit on. It was a lacy grey tank top with black jeans and a black leather jacket with some kind of grey heels. I looked at in the mirror and played with the hem of my tank top.
“It’s cute!” I said as she came up behind me and fluffed my hair and let it flow down my back. I let her do my make-up because she really wanted me too. When she finished I looked in the mirror, it looked really cute with my eyes. She just put some eye liner on because she said I didn’t need a lot. It made my freakishly blue eyes stand out and pop.
“We have to leave by 7:00” She said looking at the clock, I looked too and it was 5:30.
“Alright so what are we going to do until then?”
“Can you teach me how to do my nails really good?” She asked, bringing out her nail polish and nail polish remover.
“Sure.” I said grabbing a swab from the nail polish remover and took off yesterday’s nail polish.
She took off hers too and I chose to do black French tips to match my outfit and she did gold French tips to match hers.
It took her a couple of tries to get it right but it looked really good when she finally did it. It was 6:30 when we went down to the all you can eat café and grabbed some food. Katy hailed a cab when were done and gave the driver directions to the place. I couldn’t wait to see where we were going. We pulled up, and I could hear it before I saw it.
