I awoke to the beeping of the monitor next to me. I was in the hospital... the place that's been haunting me for a lifetime.
The place where my mother... died.
"Sarafina, sweetheart, look at me," my mother croaked out, squeezing my hand as tears flooded my face. We were in the hospital, and she was the only survivor. But the doctors foretold that she would die very soon due to the burns on her chest. They affected her lungs. My dear mother was soon to die.
"Everything will be fine. Your brothers and father are okay. They're safe my beautiful child. I will- always be with you."
"I'm not ready for you to leave mommy," I cried, placing her hand on my cheek.
"Baby, just remember what I told you. Be smart. You know who's safe and who isn't. Protect yourself. And we will always protect y-you."
Her face then turned a palish color as her heart beat all of sudden stopped. I could've sworn mine ceased as well when the nurses rushed in. And they didn't save her...
I sat up quickly on my bed, ignoring the pounding pain in my head. Harry was sleeping next to me. I wondered why Niall... had to hit me. Why? Where was he even?
I needed to get out of the hospital. If I saw a nurse, I would surely have a panic attack. Hurriedly, I ripped the IV out of my arm and attempted to stand up. Dizziness hit me harder than Niall's punch. I stumbled onto the wall, wincing from the aching pain in my head.
Harry bolted up a second later, picking me up. I resisted. "H-Harry, I need to get out of here!" I urged, struggling to get out of his grip.
"Sarafina, sweetheart, relax. I'm right here with you." He looked tired in his white t-shirt and black skinny jeans. His hair was pulled back into a mini ponytail.
"I c-can't be in hospitals...." I cried, burying my face in his chest. He sat down with me in his lap, and began rubbing my back. I think that he understood why, only because he didn't ask me any questions.
A nurse entered the room and I clutched my arms tightly around Harry, squeezing my eyes tight.
"Miss Sarafina? Are you alright?" she questioned. "P-Please don't t-touch me...." my voice shook.
Harry mumbled into my ear, "Nothing bad will happen babe. I'll protect you, I promise." He kissed my cheek as I hesitantly sat up in his lap and faced the nurse.
"I won't touch you, okay? I just have to put this IV back in." I held onto Harry as she picked up the IV and stuck it back into my arm. I wasn't afraid of needles. Just afraid of nurses.
"Would you like something to drink dear?" she questioned, stepping back from a bit. I nodded and watched as she left the room.
"Where's Niall?" I asked Harry. He looked to the floor. "Niall is in jail at the moment..."
My eyes widened. "Why? I'm not pressing charges!"
"I think you should."
"He's one of your bestfriends Harry!"
"Yeah, and he hit the one I love!" he yelled back.
"He didn't mean it... I know he didn't."
"Whatever you say Sarafina..." Just then, the nurse rushed in and looked at me with worry in her eyes.
"We just got a call from the detective working with your case..." "Case? I'm not pressing charges!" I told her.
"He said that Niall Horan is claiming he only punched you so that you could get in the hospital to find out if...-"
"He is the father of your baby."
Harry's eyes filled with rage as panic filled my body. Niall raped me? When? Why?
Niall could be the father of my child...
