From upon a poppy field...

One teenage girl. One teenage boy. They first set eyes on each other in 1914, July 28th, and begin to fall in love. But will an event, which changes history forever, tear them apart?

16. 28th July ~ Edward

I laugh humourlessly "No. No you're not" I glance down at her, her face blazing in determination. I could stare into her eyes.I shake my head. "Don't even joke about that." She looks deep in my eyes and murmurs

"I . am . coming" She spits out. I roll my eyes. She really did have an awful temper. But as I looked at her, her beautiful brown eyes glittering with tears. They trickle down her cheek, and I gently wipe them away with my thumb, her pale skin smooth as silk under my touch. I hated seeing her like this. She looked like she wanted to take on the world, and she looked terrifying. But I knew that I had to leave. The sooner, the better... I couldn't let her get hurt. If I lost her, I'd be nothing. Just emptiness. Hollow, like empty sorry's. I needed to go. Now.

I stand up slowly, pulling Rose up with me. She sighs softly and shakes her head, her red hair swinging around her face like a pendulum. I take a step back, kissing her softly on the cheek as I turn for the door. It slowly killed me as I took a single step away from her. Any moment without her felt meaningless. I whisper as I emerge outside, the cool wind ruffling my hair, the last words I wanted her to hear from me before I leave. "Goodbye Anwen. I love you and I swear on my life I will come back. I love you." I close my eyes and run off, not being able to see her face as I left, my feet pounding on the harsh earth.
