5. Chapter 5
As soon as he left everyone turned their attention to me “Emma, you read about this school, tell us” Daniel said. I smiled and pulled a small book out of my pocket “this is a little book all about Hogwarts” I said, I had bought it at a small bookstore back home that sold rare books and other items. Daniel, Sadie and Kassie all looked at me with wide eyes, excited for me to tell them about the wonders of our new school. I smiled and opened the book to page three and read a passage written by someone named P.R. Sailer “Hogwarts is split into four houses, Slytherin, Ravenclaw, Gryffindor, and Hufflepuff. Each house has a different set of values. Slytherin is known for their cunning, their ambition, and their ability to become great leaders. Gryffindor is known for their bravery, their chivalry, and their nerve. Ravenclaw is known for their kindness, their wit, and most of all their brilliant minds. Hufflepuff is known for their loyalty, their hard work, and their patience. Each student is placed in the house that they are most suited to” I read. My siblings looked at me “continue” Kassie said, I nodded and kept going “there is not much mixing between houses, you eat with your house, you sleep live your house, the only time you will be with the other houses is during class, and even then the houses usually keep to themselves. Slytherins and Gryffindors have been enemies for centuries, starting with the roots of the houses, Godric Gryffindor and Salazar Slytherin” I stopped there, I could see the students coming through the entrance of the castle. I tucked my small book in my jacket and got ready to enter the great hall with the rest of the students.
