1. Like a bird

I was very excited as I stared out of the window. We flew high above a shimmering ocean. I saw the color of the water change quickly, from dark to azure blue. It was beautiful, and I suddenly wanted to take a swim. Somewhere above the water flew a lonely seagull, floating through the air. I wished I could fly. Like a bird. The freedom, wind through my hair- oh wait, feathers, and simply having one goal in life; living. 'Ma'am?' I turned my head and saw a STEWARDESS looking at me. I felt my stomach growl as I eyed the food cart. I smiled at her. 'Two tuna sandwiches, please.' She nodded and put the two sandwiches on a plate, handing it over to the woman next to me, who passed it over to me. 'Thank you.' I said, as well to the woman next to me as to the stewardess. 'Something to drink?' I was about to say 'no', when I remembered the last time I drank too little water. Passing out in a plane; nope, not an option. 'Some water, please.' The woman nodded and handed me a bottle of water. When she was gone, I slowly ate my sandwiches, taking a sip of my water from time to time, while staring at the rainforest below us.

'Hey, Harry.'
I groaned, waking up from my precious sleep. 'Yeah...' I replied groggily. 'Food.' I looked next to me, shaking my head at Niall, who was already filling his plate. 'Jesus Christ.' I muttered, closing my eyes again. 'You need to eat something, you know. You work out a lot. You need the energy.' Niall said with a mouth full of whatever he was eating. I mumbled something nasty before drifting off again. 'Hm, the sandwiches are good, Harry. Want one from me?'
I sighed, opening my eyes again, grabbing the sandwich and staring out of the window. With Niall next to me, sleeping was impossible anyway. I wondered where we were, when the plane made a movement it shouldn't make.

I gripped the armrests of my chair and felt the blood drain from my face when the plane started shaking. People were panicking, the captain spoke through his microphone, but nobody seemed to listen. The 'fasten your seatbelts' sign burned. It all happened in a flash. Someone screamed. I hit something hard and sounds were fading away, as well as the light. And then, everything went black.
