'Ladies and gentlemen, We’ve already started our descent procedure into London airport. We expect to land at ten thirty, as scheduled. We wish you a pleasant stay in London, and we hope to see you again very soon. On behalf of all our crew, thank you for choosing our company as your airline today.' A crew member spoke through the microphone.
I was getting a little nervous, knowing I would be back on the English soil in less than fifteen minutes.
But was I very happy? No.
I sighed. I wished I could be happy to see someone. I wished I had been able to call someone yesterday and hear their relieved voices after I told them I was safe.
I hoped at least my house was happy to see me again...
I think I could kiss the pilot. We were almost home!
While the plane was doing it's descent procedure, I couldn't sit still and I probably annoyed the others with my happy rambling. But luckily they were excited too, so I wasn't the only one.
When I looked at Harry, my smile faded away.
He didn't look happy. Just nervous. I even read some sadness in his beautiful eyes.
I wrapped my arms around his shoulders and pulled him in a hug. 'Nervous?' I mumbled.
He didn't answer me, but just pulled back and cupped my face in his hands. 'Don't pay attention to me. I'm fine.' He said.
I gave him a smile. 'You don't look fine, Harry.'
He shook his head, smiling back. A small, faked smile, though.
I pushed his hands down and hugged him again. 'Whatever it is what's bothering you, I'm here for you.' I whispered in his ear.
When I pulled back, he smiled again. This time, genuine.
Content after seeing him smile, I grabbed his hand and continued to look around the plane, seeing everyone getting ready for the landing.
Soon, we had to fasten our seat belts and slowly, the plane came closer to the ground.
With a little bump, we hit the ground and I was happy that the landing was over.
'Well, that went a lot better than the last time.' Louis joked, while we all got up from our seats.
I slapped his arm. 'Asshole.'
He chuckled and we walked to the stairs, making our way down.
I took a deep breath as soon as I stood with both feet on the ground. Home.
It was real now. I felt the asphalt underneath my feet and I could finally say I made it.
I grabbed Harry's hand as soon as he had stepped off the stairs as well and pulled him with me to the terminal, where all our families were waiting.
But as soon as I saw my mother and father, I dropped everything I was holding and I ran towards them. Tears welling up in my eyes, blurring my vision. But I didn't care.
All I cared about, were their arms around me, engulfing me in a welcoming hug.
I knew my mother would cry, but I was surprised to see even my dad wiping away some tears.
His always so strong, tall figure, was now slightly hunched, overwhelmed by my return.
Unexpected return, probably.
I took a quick look around, seeing everyone hugging their family, all shedding some tears. Happy tears, after realizing they were back.
All. Except one.
My heart broke at the sight of Harry, just standing there, smiling a little at everyone's happiness.
He reminded me of a little boy. Without a family waiting for him.
I couldn't believe it. I asked my parents to excuse me and I walked up to him, a confused look on my face. I felt a tear making it's way across my cheek while I stood in front of him.
My voice was barely audible when I asked: 'Where is your family, Harry?' Even though I already knew the answer.
He smiled at me, wiping the tear of my cheek.
'It doesn't matter.' He whispered.
'No! It does! Everyone is happy! We're back home and everyone needs their family now. You too, Harry!'
'But they aren't here Scarlett! They aren't!'
I shook my head when I saw tears forming in his eyes.
'You don't need them.' I whispered, before pulling his face closer and pressing a soft kiss on his lips.
'Come with me.' I softly spoke, caressing his cheeks with my thumbs. Harry closed his eyes and smiled.
'That's really sweet of you, but-'
'Yes, it is. Come on, let's go. My mother has made the most delicious food ever.' I said before he could finish his sentence.
He looked over my shoulder, I suppose at my parents, before looking back at me.
'So... what has your mother made, then?' He said.
A wide smile covered my face and I clapped in my hands, before linking my arm with his, pulling him with me.
'I've got literally no idea, but I'm sure it's delicious.' I answered happily.
I glanced sideways, seeing him smirk at me.
