An epidemic is spreading. An epidemic that nobody has ever seen before, that nobody was ready for. It doesn't just kill people; it evolves them, wipes them into shells and reinvents them into machines to spread this disease before painfully removing them from the Earth.

Ebony Wilson has lost her mom to this plague, and has lost the rest of her family in the chaos. Unsure of where they are, and what steps to take when she finds them, whether they're infected or not, she works day by day to make it through this. To make it up to her mom and to find her family.

Will Ebony keep her head long enough to make it through, if this epidemic ever ends?

32. Author's Note/Acknowledgements

I want to start off by saying that I am proud to say that this was my first NaNo novel.  It's still raw, and needs lots of editing and enhancing, but I'm proud of it, and I'm proud of everyone else who participated this year.  You guys all did amazing, whether you have 5,000 or 50,000.  Everyone should be proud.

Next, you guys.  I want to thank everyone who took the time to actually read this.  It means so much to me, and I don't think I'd be where I am today if you guys didn't read it and support me so thoroughly.  It feels incredible, so I thank you, from the bottom of my heart.

I want to thank my friends who have encouraged me to keep going, especially when I felt like giving up, stopping, quitting.  You guys all are incredible, never giving up on me.  I hope your writing goes smoothly.

All of the authors who have given me suggestions, both on here, on other sites, and in real life, should be acknowledged as well.  They have shown me that writing is not easy, not nearly as easy as it seems, but when you put your mind to it and help others, you can do it.  So put your hands on that keyboard, typewriter, your pen to that paper, and write.  It feels incredible, and finishing is one of the best and worst parts.

This is the first book that I've ever finished.  I can honestly say that it feels painstakingly long while doing it, and you may feel like quitting, but once you're done, you feel so relieved.  To anyone reading this who needs motivation, it feels incredible.  Keep your eyes on the prize and go finish.  I'm so proud of you, whoever you are.  Think of how many people you can make happy by writing what is in your head.

Lastly, I want to say thank you to my teachers, parents, and my dog, who have all stayed by my side while I was writing this.  Their love and support keeps me going.

Thank you guys, I hope you enjoyed!
