Chapter 16: Australia
" Katerina, honey! Ashton is here!" My mom yelled out through the house signalling for me that it was time to go.
I honestly couldn't believe this. I was going to Australia with my boyfriend.
" I'm coming!" I yelled back as I took a last look in the mirror, before grabing my suitcase attempting to carry it down the stairs without falling or breaking anything.
My mom and Ashton were having a conversation by the front door, but I could only hear bits of it.
It was Ashton talking.
" ...I think we might go visit my family...........I promise I'll take care of her Mrs. Briggs.."
He stopped talking and turned his attention in my direction, as I stumbled my way to reach the front door without breaking anything on my way.
" Good morning love," he giggled at my awkwardness.
I quickly let go of my suitcase as I saw him. He smiled as I ran the short way across the floor, into his arms, pulling his lips to mine for a quick peck on the lips.
I didn't want to make a huge make out scene in front of my mom after all.
" Hi Ash!" I answered excited as he slung one of his long arms around my neck pulling me into his side.
" Don't you worry Mrs. Briggs, I promise she'll be back here before you know it. I'll take good care of her." He assured looking at my mother.
He was literally perfect. He wasn't afraid to talk to my parents. He thought of them as his own family, just like they did the other way around. I couldn't imagine any better boyfriend than him. Watching him being this confident in front of my mom was amazing. Most boys his age would do everything they could not to stumble into their girlfriends parents. .. But not Ashton.
" Well then, have fun you two," My mom said pulling me in for a hug, while Ashton carried my suitcase out to the car.
" Text me if anything happens," she told, leaning back to look at me.
" mom, nothing is going to happen..." I chuckled at her sudden concern.
"...and do not get into too much trouble.." She continued, hugging me one more time before Ashton stepped back inside.
" Ready to go?," he asked sneaking a hand around my waist.
" As ready as I'll ever be," I announced smiling widely.
" Goodbye you two, have fun," my mom said one last time before the car pulled out of the driveway.
" Bye mom, I love you," I yelled out the open window while waving untill she was out of sight.
“ Nervous,” Ashton asked resting his hand on my thigh, looking at me for a few seconds before turning his eyes back on the road.
“ No,” I rested my hand on top of his, “ Excited,” I corrected lifting his hand to my mouth kissing it, before letting it rest back on my thigh.
“ Stop,” He giggled, squeezing my thigh.. “ Stop what?,” I asked seductively lifting his hand to my mouth again.
“ That… You are making it a really hard time driving when you are being like that. “ He explained.
“ Like what?” I asked innocently, kissing each of his fingertips, grinning from ear to ear. I knew exactly what I was doing.
“ Stop acting so innocent….” He said removing his hand from mine. “ It’s just…. Do you know what you are doing to me right now? Trust me I love you so so much, but every single touch of yours sends a wave of electricity through my whole body, and I wouldn't want my inattention to cause a car accident.”
Seconds past, and Ashton turned his head to look at me, but as soon as his eyes cought mine we both ended up laughing uncontrollably.
The rest of the drive to the airport went by in silence.
A nice silence.
I guess we just both enjoyed each others company.
The excitement grew every second and I couldn’t believe that I in less than 15 hours would be in Sydney, Australia. There’s was a lot of things I wanted to see, and I guess Ash and I would spend the whole flight discussing what to do and not to do within the few days we have in Australia.
"Plane number 194EO7 to Sydney, Australia is now boarding" the lady said through the speakers making me wake up from my sleep.
I must have fallen asleep against Ashton's shoulder while waiting for the plane.
I stood up from my seat, grabbing my suitcase with one hand and Ashtons with the other, pulling him in the direction of the gate.
" Someone is getting impatient " He commented, giggling lightly at my rushing state.
The check in went by pretty smooth, and it wasn't long before we were walking down the isle between the many plane seats.
I made my way down between the rows heading for the numbers indetical to the ones on our tickets.
Half an hour later the plane was in the air and the 300 passengers were entertained by movies or music from their phones.
" So, what do you want to see in Sydney? Anything spicific?" Ashton asked as I leaned into his side, resting my head on his shoulder.
" Yes I....."
" Do you want anything to drink?" I got cut off by a really young, pretty stewardess.
She didn't look much older than me.
" Erhmm a suger free coke please" I answered smiling kindly.
" Two please" Ash added.
Her eyes widened as she saw Ashton.
" Aren't you Ashton Irwin?" She asked still staring.
" The one and only" Ashton answered giggling as he saw her face.
" Oh my god, I'm a big fan of yours... Could I by any chance get a picture with you? "
" Oh, sure" He said standing up.
" Could you..? " She asked politely, handing me her phone.
I snapped a couple of pictures before handing it back to her.
" Here you go." I said smiling as I saw her excitement grow as she admired the pictures.
" Thank you so much. My name is Emma by the way and I just wanted to let you know that I really ship you guys. You are really cute togehter." She told putting her phone bag in her pocket.
" Aww, thank you so much Emma. It was nice to meet you" I answered before Emma handed us each a coke and continued down the isle to the next row.
" I'm so sorry about that?" Ash excused as he turned his attention back in my direction.
" Oh no, don't be.! By the way, she was really sweet." I assured opening my coke, lifting it above my head in his direction.
" Yes, cheers love!" He agreed lifting his coke lightly, before taking a sip.
" Ok where were we? Oh yeah.. I really want to see the mainstream sights like The Opera House and Harbour Bridge... oh and of course shopping would be nice" I told counting the three things on my fingers like a little kid.
It got darker and darker outide as Ashton kept telling about the different sights to see and what we should spend our days doing.
The tiredness kicked in and I could feel my eyelids getting heavier by every second.
Soon I fell into a deep sleep against his shoulder, his calm voice fading every second.
