"I swear! Is it that hard to tell me something? What is wrong with--"
"Eric is in rehab." "What?" I did not see that coming. Why would he need to go? Wait... me. I rejected him. I made his mind go bizarre I'm the reason!
"How did he--" "He was caught smoking pot and had a Jack Daniels in his hand at the same time. He was down at the park." I covered my mouth. I needed to go to school, but this is something that I have to be there for him. I was the reason that he was in there. I need to fix it.
"Look, Spence. You need to go to school ok? I'll take you to the place after ok?" I nodded. I couldn't say anything. So, many things were happening. How am I suppose to handle all this?
I looked over at Harry and he held my hand tighter. I kissed my forehead and whispered, "I'm sorry."
I closed my eyes. I realized I was about to cry. Harry hugged me and said, "It's going to be fine. I'll even let you have some time alone with him." He kissed my head and I just buried my head closer to his chest.
It felt like ages when I finally got out of school. I couldn't handle all the thoughts that I had of Eric. How he was right now, and how he must have felt. I got to my car and called Josie. She was going to pick me up at my house and take me over to the rehab that he was staying at.
When we got there, I rushed into the room. Josie waited in the waiting room and gave us some time together, alone.
I was leaning on the doorway to his room and said, "Hey." He turned around and he looked away right away. I got out the books that I brought him from school that he needed to do that the teachers gave me. I set them on his desk and smiled weakly at him.
I was about to cry, but I held it in as long as he was in front of me. I didn't want to cry in front of him.
"Hey, I missed you." He turned slightly and faced the wall. "How did you find out about me?" "Josie." I looked at my hands and a hand lifted my head up. He looked me deep into my eyes and I couldn't help but to cry.
I hugged him and he hugged me back. I cried my heart out on his shoulder and said, "I'm so sorry. I shouldn't have said the words I said. I didn't know that it would go this far."
He pulled me away and cupped my head and said, "It was my choice not yours. My heart is just playing dumb. I'll move on." He smiled weakly and I smiled but it disappeared quicker then I intended it to.
"I really do miss you a lot Eric." He rubbed his hand on my cheek and said, "I miss you more then you'll ever know." I let him kiss me on the forehead.
He rested his forehead on mine and we stared at each other. I bit my lip and cried some more. This was too much for me to take in. I had to loosen it up.
"You better do your homework nerd." He chuckled and he said, "Yes, Mrs. Popular." I smiled at that and bit my lip. I kissed him on the lips and backed away. I wasn't thinking when I did that.
"I'm sorry. I didn't--" "It's fine." "I need to go. I'll see you tomorrow." "I'd love that." "How long are you in here for?" "Two weeks. They know from my past record that this isn't me and that I can change back pretty quickly." I smiled and gave him one more hug before I left.
"You know prom is in three weeks right?" "Yeah. I'm excited." "Me too."
I went out the door and went into the waiting room. Josie stood up and saw my red puffy eyes. "Oh my gosh! What happened?" "A little emotional out burst, but everything turned out fine."
"You two are starting with a clean slate now?" "Yeah. All new." She smiled and hugged me. I looked behind her and Harry was standing there. Hands in his pockets and staring intently at me.
I went up to him and said, "Wanna go to my place?" "No, I want to show you mine." I smiled and said, "How long am I staying?" "Over night." Josie cleared her throat and said, "You know I can check you two in any moment right now."
We both looked at her and smiled saying, "We'll pass."
I looked at him and said, "We'll have to stop by my place." "No worries. Your sister packed your bags for you. Don't worry. She got the books, and you need to lighten up on what you call light reading"
I smiled and said, "Once a nerd always a nerd." He smiled and said, "I except that." He kissed me and took my hand and led me to his car.
I got to his house and it was amazing. It was near the beach and when you looked at it from the front it had four columns on the porch. It had two outside chandeliers hanging above the porch and it was all white. I feel like I'm walking into heaven's gates.
I realized I was standing like an oaf and had my mouth open. I didn't realize how rich Harry was until now.
"Why didn't you tell me about you house before?" He shrugged and said, "I wanted to know if you loved me for real or not." He looked at me and squeezed my hand and said, "Now I know it's for real. I only take people to my house if I trust them."
I smiled and pecked his lips. We entered the house and he was immediately greeted by a blonde chick. That hit me right in the heart. They were hugging each other then started to tickle each other. That's what Harry and I do all the time.
She looked at me and said, "You must be the lad Harry was none stop talking about! I'm Gemma. Harry's sister." I was relieved and let out the breath that I was anonymously holding in.
"My name's--" "Spencer. Spencer Calder. You're sisters with Eleanor Calder aren't you." "Hints the last name, yeah." "She's hilarious. You chose a good one compared to the other shitty one that was named Darcy. Ugh. I hated her."
"I like your sister already." "You hate her too? We are going to be best friends." She hugged me and said, "Talking about friends. I have to meet up with some right now."
Harry grabbed her by the arm and said, "And who are you meeting?" "Don't have to be overprotective right now Harry. You have another girl to worry about." He stared at her intently and she finally gave in saying, "It's with Jim and Clarrise. You know the usual."
I went to look at him and he gave me a look and rolling his eyes. I didn't really need to smile, but I bursted into laughter. "What's so funny?" "You being over protective with your sister. I think it's cute." "You do?" "Yeah."
He kissed me and then someone came running down the marble stairs and had her arms wide open and hugged Harry saying, "Oh, Harry you're back! You also brought Spencer! You are Spencer right?" "Yes ma'me."
"Oh look. She has manners. Not like that other one. Oh, what's her name." "Darcy?" "Yes, that's her. She is oblivious when people aren't talking about her. I hate people like that." "You and Spencer will get along well then."
"Oh, sweetie this whole family hates that child. I'm glad she's moving away." I smiled at her.
"Oh, Harry. Me and Robin are going to go on a business trip. It's your father's, but I wanted to tag along. I mean we're going to Paris for crying out loud!" "Have fun." "Oh I will sweetie. Oh and take care of this sweet girl. I want to have her as long as possible."
That made me smile. There was a person who was coming down the stairs and he was carrying some bags. He wobbled out the door almost dropping one and came back saying, "I think there will be three more trips for bags then the car will be ready." "Brilliant. I'll be waiting in the car." "Yes ma'me."
Harry walked me up to his room and put my bags on the couch. "It looks like I'm staying here for months! What did my sister pack up?" "Oh, that's a girl's thing, but I sort of asked her to pack enough things for you to stay here while my parents are out. I get lonely you know."
"You what?" "You're staying here for a whole month." "I'm what?" "Aren't you happy?" "Yeah. I'm staying with you for a month. Why wouldn't I be?" I had the biggest grin on my face.
I wanted to kiss him t'ill tomorrow, but I had to get to my homework. I made sure that he did his too. We said our goodbyes to his mom first and then got busy with out work.
I couldn't believe it. I was staying at Harry's for a whole month. Just me, him, and Gemma.
