I got to school and I was still trying to figure out if Darcy was lying to me or not. You never knew with her.
I got into the school and there was yelling. Niall came rushing down the hall and Darcy was trying to run after him saying, "I said I'm sorry I just don't want there to be this awkward thing between us." "Awkward thing? That's what you call it?"
He barged out the door and didn't even look at me. He went back in and smiled at me saying, "Hey Spence, do me a favor and get rid of that bitch over there." "No problem, in three days she's moving across the country."
"Not you too. You really think that she's moving?" "I'm calling her parents in a few to make sure this is right, but so far yes, I do believe her. It's good news that I was wishing for a really long time now." "True." He went out the door and into the parking lot.
"Spencer! Stop him! Why aren't you helping me?" "It's not my problem to solve."
She wanted to slap me for saying that but she didn't want to have a problem between us again. I went over to my locker and saw that there was a note. "Meet me a my locker, I have important news. ~Josie" I got my things and went over to her locker.
"What's the news." I saw Jake standing next to her and said, "Jake asked me to be his girlfriend." "And she said yes." "We've been dating for a while." "So, we thought it was time." "I really hope you don't mind." They said the last sentence together. They always seemed to do that.
"That's awesome. I'm happy for you two." They looked at each other and walked away hand in hand.
Harry came up to me and hugged me saying, "Hey babe." "Hey." He smiled at me and said, "I heard there was this party that's happening this Friday night. You wanna come?"
"No, sorry. I'm not into that kind of stuff." He put his arm around my hips and said, "Come on. Why not? This is one of the biggest parties." "No, I'm not going." I looked at him sternly. I told him already that I don't want to be a rebellious teen. I want to look good when I sign up for colleges and right now I already got a lot in and I don't want to mess up right now.
"Babe, it's just one party." "And one party can mess my whole life up. Harry, I'm trying to look good for college. This will mess it all up." "Always looking for the future. All I'm trying to say is that you need a break. At least think about it."
I looked at him and he took a deep breath and said, "Fine, but I'm going. So, get ready to get a call from me on how awesome the party is." He gave me a look and kissed me on the forehead and said, "I'll see you soon though ok?" "Ok."
He walked off and I got my phone out. I needed to call Darcy's parents to make sure that she's leaving. I mean, how awesome would it be? Me, going to school with no Darcy. Best school ever.
I put the phone to my ear and headed into the janitor's closet. I wanted it to be private.
"Hello?" "Hi, is this Darcy's mom?" "Yes. Who is this?" "This is Spencer. I go to Darcy's school and--" "Oh! Spencer sweetie! How are you?" "I'm good!" "Well, that's nice. You know Darcy is moving out of town in three days. We didn't want to tell her because we knew that it would be really hard to tell good friends like you." "Friends?" "Oh yes, Darcy talks about how kind, elegant, and beautiful you are. You are very good for Darcy to look upon and I thank you for that."
The bell rang and I had to say goodbye, but she kept on jabbering on how Darcy always talked about me in a good way. I had to ask her this one daring question though. "How long has she been talking about me in this way?" "Oh! You don't know how long you've been friends?" "My mind is sort of off track. How long has it been like--" "Like fourteen years sweetie! The first day of pre-school! I remember her coming home telling me all about you."
"How's that?" "Well, you know how it is. She was very jealous on how you looked. I was concerned, but when you two became closer and closer through the years she started to gain confident in herself, and I thank you for that." "I have to go now. Umm, it was nice talking to you." "You too sweetie. Bye!" "Bye."
I hung up the phone and put it in my purse. I couldn't believe what just happened on the phone. All this time Darcy was just jealous of me and bullied me so I could be below her and think that I'm not who I should be thinking I am, but at the same time, if it wasn't for her, I would be smart like I am right now. I would probably be a stupid, pretty girl.
So, come to think of it because of her I'm the top student and have a set future. So, I should be thankful and not hate her. The late bell rang and I groaned.
I went to the office and they were surprised when I came in. "I was in a study room. Couldn't hear the bell."
The office lady nodded her head and scanned my I.D. and gave me my ticket. "Have a nice day, sweetie." "You too." I waved back at her and went to my first period class.
When I came in, everyone turned their heads toward me and was surprised that I was late. I ignored the stares and sat next to the open seat next to Eric. It was nice of them to let my seat stay open. The teacher turned back around and ignored the whole fact that I was late.
I put the late ticket on my desk and while she was walking around she picked it up. I turned toward Eric, and he was staring at me. "Nice to see you have interest." He cleared his throat and said, "Why were you late?" "I had to get something straight."
He gave me a look that said go on. "I'll tell you after school." He slumped in his chair and gave me the look again and I said, "It's that or later on tonight." He rolled his eyes and said, "Fine. I'll meet you at your car."
After school was over I went over to my car and Eric was standing there waiting for me. He was leaning against the hood of the car and on his phone. I went up to him and beeped my car open.
"So, why were you late?" I looked at him and said, "Get in the car." He looked at me and I said, "Get. In. The car." He got in and closed the door. He turned and looked at me with a concerned face.
"I called Darcy's mom and they are going to be moving in three days." I looked over at him to make sure I have his attention. He was pleading me with his eyes to go on.
"She also sort of slipped her mouth on why Darcy was bullying, but at the same time didn't know that Darcy was bullying me." "Wait say what now?" "Darcy bullied me because she was jealous on how much prettier I was then she was and she just put my self esteem down enough to make her the prettiest girl in the school all throughout my life."
"You say what now?" I rolled my eyes. "I told you why I was late. Now get out." "You're bipolar you know that right?" I stared at him and he said, "You want me in the car and now out of the car, you want to be with me now you don't want to be with me."
"What does that have to deal with anything with the subject at hand?" He just looked at me and said, "I think you know exactly what I'm saying." He got out of the car and walked away.
He seriously needs to stop confusing things. I know he still has feelings for me, but he needs to move on. Right now is not a good time to be talking about that. Darcy is leaving. That is the main focus at hand.
