Today, I could tell was going to be a typical school day. Nothing better then going to school knowing that people were just going to call you a nerd and other names.
Well, that's my life.
I didn't want it, but I was just too focused on the goals that I needed to reach for the graduation. I mean, I'm seriously going to be the valedictorian, but that doesn't mean that I can't beat the standards of getting a full scholarship to the one collage that I'm aiming for. Princeton.
You might be like, that's a hard school sweetie... no just no. I'm here to tell you, none of the people that are bullying me are even thinking about going to that school.
So, for that reason I'm going to aim that high.
I entered the school and people already started to shove me around and call me names. I ignored them and went to my locker. I opened it and saw a note fall onto the floor. I wasn't surprised.
Darcy came over to my locker and slammed it shut saying, "Read the note, nerd." I rolled my eyes and just put in my code to the locker and opened it again. She scoffed and said, "This bitch thinks that she can ignore me." Her little clique started to form around her and giggle like a bunch of morons from Mean Girls.
One of them flipped their hair and said, "Oh no! How dare you ignore her! You know what happens when people like you ignore her... right?"
She smirked and flipped her hair in my face and walked back to her position behind Darcy. I rolled my eyes and turned back to my locker.
Darcy scoffed again and slammed my locker almost catching my hand inside it on the way and said, "I said read the note!"
I looked at her and put the note up to her face and tore it. I turned around on my heels and went away. I didn't have any time to deal with them right now. "Bitch!" I heard her say the usual name she gives me and every single one of her little minions started to call me names too.
I went to the bathroom and waited in there for five minutes. I usually get to school early because I know that they'll have something planned for me that day so I just get it over with early.
I came out and ran into someone. I didn't look at who it was, I just went on to my locker.
When I got to my locker no one was there, but there was a sign saying loser on it. Obviously by Darcy. I just got my things and went to my first period class. Trigonometry.
At the end of the day I was happy it was over. I went over to my BMW and got in without anyone noticing. Yes, I have a BMW. My parents aren't poor, they are freaking rich, but I just chose to be this way because I don't care about my looks that much because of studying.
I drove to my house and got in. It was empty, but I seriously didn't care. My parents were never home.
I went up the marble staircase and into my bed room. I opened my computer up and got onto Facebook. I only had three best friends, and the rest on my friend list were family. I didn't really want anyone else because if I did then I know that they won't except me.
I checked the notifications and I looked to see and new friend request, it was Darcy.
I couldn't really believed it, so I refreshed the page, and sure enough there was a message to go along with it too this time saying, "Look I know we had our differences, but I want to make it up to you. How about we do a makeover?"
I just looked at the screen like I was having a nightmare. Who does she think she is wanting to make it up to me by a simple makeover from all of the years I had to spend with her since elementary school of bullying?
I ignored the message and rejected the friend request. I seriously doubt that she's doing this without a cause. That's just not her.
I went to my phone and saw that Eric called. He and Jake are my only guy friends. The other friend I have, that is a girl, is Josie. I listened to the voicemail and it said, "Hey, just wanted to make sure if you still wanted to do the study hall at the library tomorrow or not. Text me your answer."
I smiled and texted him saying, "Of course why would I cancel the study hall?"
I went to my closet and got out my home clothes. I put on some nike shorts and a southern company t-shirt. I sat at my desk and started to do tonight's homework. I didn't have a lot to do, but I still needed to study a lot too.
The next day was Saturday and I woke up early to go run. I usually do this for the activity that I needed to do for my health. I didn't want to get fat from all of the studies.
When I got back, Josie was already in my house. I went upstairs and took a shower. I came down and saw that Josie was looking extra special today.
I giggled and said, "You know that today is a study hall not a study date?" She smiled and said, "Yeah. So, why are you asking that?" I gave her the really look at yourself face and she started to blush.
I mean seriously she was wearing a vineyard vine denim dress and some jack rogers. That was an outfit that I would save for a date.
I, on the other hand, was wearing a southern tide t-shirt and some yoga pants and Uggs. I didn't feel that fancy. "Please don't tell anyone, but I think I like Jake." I looked at her and said, "Do you know me?"
She rolled her eyes and just pulled my arm and said, "Come on we're going to be late. We still need to stop by Starbucks for some coffee too."
When we got to the library, we saw that Harry was there. He was way off our limits for talking. Darcy would kill us. He was the school's player, and Darcy's boyfriend. I could tell that he was sweet, but I could also tell that he had his evil side on right now.
We hurried to our table and everyone else was already there. Eric was tapping his finger and said, "Took you long enough, and why were you both staring at Harry. You know Darcy would kill you if she found out you did that." I rolled my eyes and said, "We're here for studying not gossiping."
We opened our books and started to dig into it.
"Spencer! Wake up!" I looked at my alarm clock and it was two hours before school. I groaned and tried to go back to sleep.
My sister walked in and said, "What are you doing? Do you know whose here?" I just looked at her with my morning look. I wasn't in the mood for surprises.
After I rubbed the sleep out of my eyes, I saw a girl walk into the room. I blinked a few times and saw that it was Darcy. You see here, I don't have to have glasses on all the time. I just use the glasses for reading, and I'm too lazy to take it off.
"What are you doing still in bed. You're suppose to be up for the makeover. You know I don't take no for an answer." I gave a her a look and said, "How did you even get my address?"
She looked at my sister and she just ran out of the room. I rolled my eyes and said, "Look. We are never going to be friends. So, I'm not going to start now. You know the social rating between you and I." She gave me that fake smile that she was trying to hold all her anger with. I wanted to see how far I could push it.
"Sweetie, I want to make all that bullying stop. That is how I want to say I'm sorry from all those years of bullying you." I just looked at her like she had a roach on her head.
"Look, I'm not falling for this. You always backstab in this kind of situation." She rolled her eyes and shifted to one side to stand on. "Look just take a shower and get back out here. We have a makeover to do, and I don't take no as an answer." She looked at me as if I didn't do it she was going to do it for me, and I didn't want that.
"Fine, but if you backstab me, you're going to be sorry." She rolled her eyes and started to unpack everything and said, "Yeah, whatever. Nice house by the way."
Did she just compliment me? That was weird. I got into the shower, but I took my time. I took a twenty minute shower and got out with the steam coming out from the door when I opened it. "That smells good. What soap did you use?"
Seriously, even that didn't make her mad? "Let's just get this over with." She got out a hair dryer and said, "Sit." She set up a chair and mirror for the makeover to take place.
I did as what she said and watched the transfiguration happen.
She put light makeup on, but very heavy mascara and light with the eye liner. I didn't know that a black line across the top of my eyes will make me look a billion times prettier.
She put my hair in a half up- half down hairstyle and curled my hair lightly. I looked at myself in the mirror and was surprised to see what I turned into. I literally looked beautiful. I saw the face that I was making a brushed it off. She giggled and turned around to look into my closet.
"Oh. My. Gosh! You have so many cute clothes! You just can't match them up right! What the heck! Look! Most of them are from the most expensive stores that... how? You have almost all vineyard vine, and look southern tide. You have... lemme count. You have ten southern company t-shirts! You have my dream closet!"
She looked at me and just had this surprised face on. "This was going to be easier than I thought!"
She took out a white silk polka dot embroidered top and some navy blue colored jeans. She went to my shoe closet and had the same expression on as the one from my closet. She got out my light brown gladiator sandals that go to my ankle.
"Put this on. You will look amazing!" She hurried out of my room and I changed into it quickly.
When I was done I went out side and my sister was out there in her outfit that was of course amazing because she was one of Darcy's minions.
They were both amazed. "Did you buy any of that?" "No! I found it all in her closet. Your sister can chose good clothes. She just can't match them!" They both looked at me and was really pleased with the work that Darcy did on me.
I went back to my room and got my things. I texted in the group chat to my friends saying, "Darcy just did a makeover on me. Watch out." I put the phone in my bag and got out to my car.
I ignored breakfast completely. I was just going to have to go to Starbucks. I still had an hour left before school starts. I was surprised that it only took around thirty minutes to get ready. I thought it would take longer, but I guess that was only my sister. Darcy was an expert at this.
I got in and some of the boys at school were there. They looked at me like I was from another planet that they wanted to sleep with all the girls at because they kept checking me out.
That was the reason why I didn't want a makeover or even try to look pretty because I didn't want to worry about these things that I am now worried about.
I hurried and got my mocha and got out of there. I went to my car and sat inside because I couldn't handle people talking about me. I didn't want this attention.
I got a book out to calm me down. I really needed to put my mind on something else. After fifteen minutes past, I needed to go to school.
I drove to school and when I got out, everyone stared at me in awe. No one called me any names. I liked that. I didn't mind them calling me names in the first place, but this was a good change.
I went over to my locker and put the code in and opened it without anyone trying to bully me by shoving me.
Eric came to my locker and said, "What the heck happened. When you said makeover I didn't think that you would be looking like this. Look Harry and his gang are looking like they want to get you." I just gave him a look to let him know that he was worrying way too much.
"Look, they are having this party this Friday. If they ask you to come don't go. They never invited us so I think it's a bad idea to go." I looked back at my locker and said, "I won't." "Promise?" "Promise."
I closed my locker and Harry came over pushing Eric away from me and said, "Nerd, get away from her. She isn't anywhere in your social radar. She's in ours now." I looked at Harry and pushed him saying, "Who do you think you are pushing people around."
He pinned me against the locker and said, "Babe, don't talk like that. You know it's the truth." I pushed him away from me and went over to Eric.
I grabbed his hand and walked over to our first period class. I didn't look back to Harry or at Eric. I just put my head straight forward. They were laughing their heads off while we were walking away. I didn't care about that though, but this was the one thing that I didn't want to happen, but knew would when I did the makeover.
