I groaned in frustration, and walked up to the run down ticket booth. I looked in and saw dust, and a skeleton. Looks real. Eh.
"Are we going in or not?" I said, keeping my eye focus on the ground. They all agreed, and Chay came up to talk to me, while Angelina was talking to Kevin.
"What you did back there..." he trailed off. I sighed and ran my hand through my hair.
"I know.. It was over dramatic, and I should've just gotten over it" I finished for him. He looked at me as if I had 3 heads.
"Not at all! That was brave of you! She needed to hear that! I figured it would've been longer though!" he said. I looked at him, and kept walking. I finally made it in the gate, and saw every ride... was beat down. This actually looked abandoned. I looked up 'The Cool Zone Carnival' on my phone and this popped up:
Like little kids, we all experience a happy rush, a delighted thrill, when going to play at an amusement park. Yet when an amusement park is abandoned and an eerie silence settles over the rusty and crusty decay, the setting seems to twist the atmosphere of enthusiastic excitement into a suffocating blanket of dread. The place takes on creepy vibes and freaks people out. In 2005, Hurricane Katrina devastated New Orleans and ripped the heart of fun and the amusement out of this park. Almost six years later, Six Flags in New Orleans is unnaturally silent, no lines and no laughter. This 140-acre surreal setting has morphed into a nightmarish land of twisted dreams. It seems as if the post-apocalyptic atmosphere might be the perfect place to make a zombie movie. As if lured by a distant echo of scattered screams and the ghost of good times, urban explorers venture out of curiosity and capture the moments and crumbling scenes. They share with us in a virtual urban exploration tour of this creepy abandoned amusement park – Six Flags New Orleans.
"Uhm, guys?" I said aloud. They all came over. I read it aloud for them, and we just looked at each other.
"We need to go.." Kevin said. I nodded agreeing. I grabbed Angelina's hand with my left hand, while she held Chay's hand. I grabbed Kevin's with my right hand, and he looked at me, and I just smiled at him. We went for the entrance gate so we could leave. But it closed. We backed up. The wind started howling like a werewolf who just transformed for the first time on a full moon. All the gates locked, I helped Kevin climb over the gate, and then helped Angelina and Chay.
"GO!! I'll be there in five seconds." I said, They nodded running to the car. I ran to 'Barbe's Ice Cream Shop' and heard laughing. I turned around and saw nothing. I ran out and the doors closed, and locked. I went to the window and kicked it a few times until it broke. I crawled out, scratching my legs up a little bit. I ran to the gate and saw them back on this side.
"excuse my French, but, WHAT IN THE HELL ARE YOU GUYS DOING OVER HERE?!?!?!" I yelled. They all just looked at me, until Angelina spoke up,
"we knew you weren't going to come over. You were going to investigate like a dumb ss-" I cut her off by putting my hand over her mouth. I heard the laugh again, I turned around and saw a tall, monochrome clown. He has all black and white, with two rows of jagged, monstrous teeth, and his laugh... his laugh had every last bit of insanity in it. I watched as a group of DEAD children with missing eyes, arms, anything walked around screaming bloody murder. It was getting annoying, so I finally just took a few lollipops that were poking out of the clowns pocket and stuck them in their mouths.
"What is your name?" I said.
"Jack, Laughing Jack" he answered.
"well now that we know your name, we should really get going" I said slowly backing up with my 3 friends.
"Ohh no, we haven't had any fun yet!" he yelled, laughing insanely. I heard a 'creepy' version of 'Pop Goes The Weasel' and I liked it. I started humming it, while my group ran to a nearby tent, and what we saw was absolutely terrifying....
