The sound began as a small scratch. It sounded like nails pulled over wood and right as it was, I heard my name. Someone was shouting for me and it wasn't Niall. I sat up and I tried to discern the voice. It sounded scent, it sounded far away, or almost cloudy.
"Lilly?" and then it scraped again. I didn't know if it really was hearing the sound, but somehow I became curious. I stood up and I tried to hear where it really came from. I had to walk quietly along the woods and I ended up back in the city. I followed the sound and I was as engrossed in it.
"What are you doing here?"
I almost jumped up and I spun around quickly. Harry came towards me and I didn't know if I should answer him. He laughed over that he had managed to scare me.
"Niall said you had talent now, but still you got scared?"
I blushed and I collected myself. I didn't hear the sound and it was like it disappeared into thin air.
"I just..." I hesitated. "I listened and it was a sound."
Harry raised his eyebrows and he understood that I wasn't telling him it all.
"There's always noise around us?"
I agreed and I felt unsafe. I tried to listen again, but still I didn't hear the voice shouting for me, or nails on wood.
"I don't know what it was and I was curious." I explained and then I frowned. "And what are you doing here?"
Harry took a deep breath and he looked just generally happy.
"I'm out walking. Sometimes I go around and make sure everything's calm on the streets. Much like a police officer or a secret agent."
I smiled. Did he think he was a superhero?
"Have you saved any woman in distress yet?"
He grinned and he shook his head.
"No, I have only found one man who was close to dying, so I took him to the hospital."
He smiled bigger and he didn't like to talk about it more.
"Let's just say I'll take care of the people sometimes, and when they need help, I help them." he curled a little. "I can follow you a long way?"
I nodded and I smiled gratefully. I no longer felt to be alone and I wanted to get back to Niall.
"Tell me about the sound?"
We started to walk along the street.
"That which you followed. What did it sounded like?"
Why did I hesitated? I was afraid that he would laugh at me? I still chose to be honest. I never knew when the vampires were able to read my thoughts.
"It sounded like someone was shouting my name." I swallowed. "I know it sounds weird, but I heard my name and it sounded as if someone pulled the nails over wood."
Harry didn't laugh. Instead, he looked straight at me and he nodded a little bit.
"Okay, and do you know where the sound came from?"
I shook my head.
"No, I tried to follow it, but you showed up."
He nodded, and he looked down at the ground with a pensive gaze.
"I'll be honest." he mumbled. "I know what kind of sound it was, but I'm not going to talk about it now."
Stupid Harry! I was almost annoyed.
"But I want to know."
He sighed a little bit and he hesitated.
"You heard Sam."
I was startled.
"But isn't he...?"
Harry smiled a little bit.
"Well he's buried under the ground, but he do everything to come loose and be free." He looked at me again. "If I were you, I wouldn't follow that voice. Niall has told everyone that we can't show you his grave, because you can fall into his hands again. It's pretty easy for him to once again take control of you. "
I disagreed, though I hesitated.
"I was just me back then." I said in an explanation. "Now I'm a vampire and I came away from his violence."
Harry agreed, but at the same time not.
"I'm just warning you." he said kindly. "Stay away from Sam!"
We stopped outside Nialls house and Harry smiled at me.
"It was a true pleasure to follow you home."
I laughed a little bit and I looked towards Nialls office window. It shone in there and I knew he was home.
"Niall will be pleased that I didn't walk home alone." I said and I looked at Harry again. "Thank you!"
Harry hugged me quickly and easily.
"And don't forget my warning."
I nodded and started to walk towards the stairs.
"Good night and good-bye!"
There was a lot that happening in my body. I began hearing voices and I realized that it was both vampires and humans who talked. Niall made me take control over my ability, but it was a pain for a while. All voices, all thoughts and all feelings, I could feel everything that flowed towards me. It was like energy and all energies were different. No one was ever the same.
"Did you hear my thoughts the first time you met me?"
Niall blushed and he nodded a little bit.
"You weren't exactly happy back then and I felt how you almost felt that everything was hopeless."
I smiled a little bit and I remembered almost how boring my life was before Niall.
"Is that why you chose me?"
He shook his head and he took his arms around my body.
"No, you had that little extra that I was looking for."
I giggled and I took my arms around his neck.
"So you fell for me?"
Niall grinned. He kissed me lightly on the nose, and then he watched me closely.
"Yes, I fell maybe directly and I worshipped the ground you walked on, that very first night."
I didn't believe him.
"You just want me to blush?"
Niall laughed and he shook his head.
"No, I'm not looking for anything."
I played disappointed.
He raised his eyebrows and smiled awry.
"I already have everything I want and everything I dreamed about. I have you here with me."
It felt wonderful that I was his dream. All the times he talked about how much he loved me, got me to be more and more confident that I was born to be with him. I was born to be a vampire.
Will be more.. :)
