~ Abbigail :)
We walk out of the school and Lilly and Rory are talking about a horror movie coming out soon.
I feel someone bump shoulders with me and I see Luke give me a sheepish grin.
"Right Ashton?" Lilly asks me and I snap out of my gaze.
"What?" Being the bright person I am.
Rory snickers. "Idiot she said the first movies are always better then the second one." She rolls her eyes.
I furrow my eyebrows and fix my hat- fedora. I meant fedora. "I guess it all depends. What movie are you talking about specifically?"
"The Woman In Black." Lilly says making a creepy face, with a creepy smile on her face.
I pale slightly. "Uh, I-I don't know I've never watched that." I say scratching my arm.
"Ashton doesn't like horror movies." Luke says shrugging his shoulders.
Lilly narrows her eyes at him. "How do you know so much about him when you only just met him not long ago, and don't give me any bullshit Lucifer." she says crossing her arms.
Rory looks between Luke and Lilly then shrugs getting out her phone.
See? I ain't the only one who calls him that.
I sigh. "Lilly he won't answer you. Trust me I should know." I mumble and Rory gives me a confused look while Lilly holds a glare on Luke.
Luke looks over at me and shakes his head.
"Go ahead ask him." I say to Lilly.
She narrows her glaring eyes. "How do you know so much about him?"
He sighs. "I-I can't say."
I throw my hands up. "Told you. I'm just gonna go home."
I shake my head as I walk down the side walk and prepare myself for a long walk home.
I don't even look back at them.
I know I may seem childish but if someone came up to you and told you that they know every little detail about you and your life. You would want to know how. I sure as hell do.
I've asked him and asked him but still the same answer each time. Why can't he just trust me and tell me? It's not like I'll tell anyone. I only talk with a max of five people- not even half the time.
I jump as an achingly familiar car pulls up beside me. The window rolls down and I see Michael staring forward.
"Get in Irwin." He says not takin his eyes off the road.
I would have just kept walking but he weather is being a bitch and it's starts pouring down all around me.
I grumble under my breath as I take a seat in his car, wet from the random downpour.
The ride is quiet besides the Green Day cd playing softly.
I tap my fingers against my thigh to the beat of the music, keeping up with the time and beat.
I see Michael glance at me before eyes going back to the road. I guess I got really into it.
"You still play?" He asks making me stop my air drumming.
I blink at him and slowly shake my head. "Haven't in years." I whisper looking out the widow.
We pull up to his house and it's starting to let up a little. I step out and follow Michael up the steps to his house.
"Michael? Why are you home so- Ashton." Karen says coming from the kitchen drying her hands on a towel.
"Ashton's having a bad day so I brought him here, he needed a friend." Michael lies to his mum, my day wasn't the best so far and he's no friend.
Her eyes go soft. "Oh Ashton your always welcome here honey. I'm a little ticked off that you guys are not in school but I guess it's okay this one time. And your getting my clean floor wet! Go dry off."
"Thanks mum, we'll be upstairs don't bother us." Michael says ignoring what she said about being wet and grabbing my arm while pulling me up the stairs and into his room.
He pushes me in and locks the door behind him.
"Sit." He orders pointing to his bed.
I mentally roll my eyes at him as I sit on his bed.
My phone buzzes and I take it out and see a text from Luke.
'Ashton I'm sorry that I can't tell you. You out of all people know that. I'm sorry babe, please come back.' I roll my eyes at the message.
"Who's that?" Michael asks reaching for my phone but I pull it away.
Michael narrows his eyes at me and I see he's getting a tad mad.
"Ashton. Give me the phone." He says through gritted teeth.
I shake my head.
"Ashton give me the fucking phone." Michael snaps glaring at me.
I feel my own anger build. I jump off the bed, glaring at him with my hazel eyes.
"No. I've had enough of people pushing me around and telling me what to do just because I don't like to talk. I'm sick of it. Starting with you." His eyes are wide and I sneer. "All you know how to do is push people down. That's all you ever do now a days. It's stupid and fucking pointless. You need a fucking reality check Michael Gordon Clifford. People are not your puppets for you to do as you please with and break them when your bored of them." I blow up and Michael's staring at me with wide eyes and he opens and closes his mouth.
"I'm fucking done with it Michael." I whimper as tears fill my eyes. I look down as tears pool in my eyes. "Why does everyone hate me? Wh-what did I do?"
Tears spill over and I feel arms wrap around me and I don't hesitate to hug back this time.
My arms go around him and I mumble into his shirt. "Why Mikey?"
He freezes when I call him Mikey and I pull away quickly and slap my hand over my mouth as my eyes go wide.
"Shit I'm sorry Michael." I whisper.
I meet his his greenish eyes with my hazel ones and I quickly look away.
"Ashton, why don't you sit down." He says quietly and I slowly nod my head.
I take a seat on his bed by his headboard while he sits in front of me.
He sighs while running his hand through his bright red hair. "Look Ashton. I-I'm sorry. For all those years of beating you up and hurting you..... I just- getting close to you was to hard for me...... Literaly." He mumbles the last part leaving me confused as hell.
"What do you mean?" I ask tilting my head to the side and he chuckles slightly.
"Oh Ashton. Your blonde is showing." He says and I put my hands on my head.
My phone goes of again reminding me I've got a text I haven't answered yet.
Michael looks at me then reaches over and take my phone reading the text.
He glares at the phone. "Who's this?" He asks sounding a tad pissed.
Well shit it's never good when he's mad.
I clear my throat. "L-Luke." I say playing with the hem(ming's) of my shirt.
"Who's Luke?" He asks finally meeting my eyes.
He doesn't look pissed or anything which I'm thankful for.
"A close friend." I mumble and his gaze goes hooded and he looks just a little upset but then it goes back to the normal cocky look I'm always use to.
"Is that the guy who marked you the other day?" He asks above a whisper.
I don't take my eyes off him as I nod my head, so I see his whole expression crumble like a cookie.
"Right.... Of cores it is." He says giving me a weak smile along with my phone.
I wonder why he's acting like this but it's like a light bulb went off in my head as my own eyes widen slightly.
I get it now.
