I looked around at all the smiling faces and the families congratulating their sons and daughters for making it as a shinobi. I’d say it’s quite an honour to be a shinobi of the leaf village. I smiled proudly and I walked over to my father who was also exchanging a small smile of his own.
“Well done my child, I’m proud of you,” he said, hugging me when I reached him. It was a nice feeling to hear that from him, no-one has ever been so proud of me than him.
“Thankyou father, don’t worry, I’ll try my hardest to become the best shinobi there is!” I said with determination, looking up at the sky and eyes gleaming with hope. That was, after my entire dream, my father was a great shinobi, but ever since he had fallen ill, he was unable to continue begin a ninja. He has lung disease, it’s very rare and it was very devastating when I heard he had it.
“I wouldn’t expect any less,” He replied softly and pulled away. He was very pale; his hair going a light brown over the years, but his face remained from any wrinkles and still had its soft young features.
Suddenly I heard my name being called out “HIME!” I turned to see my best friend Rena Abarai, she was a very beautiful girl with short snowy white hair and pale skin, a red skirt with fishnet stocking and Black combo boots companied her, though she never really wore any tops, she always covered her top half with bandages, I don’t know why…then again I don’t really want to know. I smiled and waved over at her as she advance towards me, I turned to look at my father but he disappeared, typical him, always doing that when I’m not looking.
Unlike most clans, our clan is small, but it’s a very special clan I might say. We are the guardians of dragons, although, only we know they exist, everyone who is not from the clan would only think of it as a myth, but I don’t, because I’ve actually summoned a dragon myself. Each one of us obtains a special dragon of our own, although it takes years to master and a lot of hard work, I’m the youngest of my clan to complete this task and I must say I do feel delighted about it. Let’s see, my dragon is a black dragon, not a good sign from what my elders told me, they say the black dragon only brings sorrow and chaos to the one that uses it, so they forbid me from using that jutsu, but…it’s my choice, it’s my life, I can do what I want and when I want and no-one is gonna stop me.
Unlike the black dragon though, there are many types, healing dragons, magic dragons, element dragons, GOD I can god on and on. But the dragon reflects on the person’s personality and character. I don’t know what that means for me, and I surely don’t want to either, but I guess time will tell sooner or later.
I looked at Rena as she stood in front of me with a wide grin plastering her face. “So, do you think we’ll be together when they choose the teams,” she asked in a childish tone.
I thought for a moment and shrugged my shoulders. “I’m not sure, I’m not the once to decide here, but I do hope we are, it would make things easier for us, considering we’ve been together for a very long time,” I stated and smiled at her. Even though she was my best friend, she didn’t know about the clan’s special jutsu, it made me feel bad and as much as I want to tell her, I just couldn’t. My smile faltered a bit, Rena noticed this, but didn’t say anything, she only gave off a warm reassuring smile and squeezed my shoulder.
“Don’t worry about it, I’m positive we’ll be together,” and with that, she walked off, waving back at me as she went over to her brother.
Suddenly a light tug on my sleeve stopped me from thinking any further than I should and I looked down to find a small boy grinning up at me, he had light blonde hair and three whiskers on each side on his cheek (can you guess who it is xD) his sparkling blue eyes gazed up at me cheerfully as I knelt down to his level. “Hello Naruto, how are you today?”
The small boy shyly twiddled his thumbs and blushed at me. “Um…..would you like to have some ramen with me?” he said, bowing his head a little lower than before. I smiled at him and ruffled his sunny blonde hair.
“Of course I will, I wouldn’t miss that for the world,” he beamed up at me and hugged me; I hugged him back and reluctantly let go. But before I could stand up, he all of a sudden hid behind me with a flushed face. “Huh? What is it Naruto?”
“It’s that really pretty girl again,” he muttered and intently looked at a little girl with bright pink hair walking with her mother and father. I smiled down at him and nudged him a little, “why don’t you go say hello to her,” I asked, knowing full well with him answer is going to be.
Naruto looked down in gloom, “because she always ignores me, and when I ask her to come and play with me…she always says no,” he replied. I frowned a little and took his hand gently.
“Okay, how about this, we’ll go get something to eat, then maybe you can introduce me to her, you never know, she might say yes, don’t give up hope there little guy,” I ruffled his hair again and giggled when he pouted at me slightly, then he smiled. “Okay,” he nodded. It was nice to see the boy happy, even in the darkest of times he’s always smiling, and it always puts me in a good mood. I stood up and took he little hand again as we began to make our way to Ichiraku ramen.
