The first day back to school, great!
I was too lazy to dress up into school clothes, so I wore sweats and a sweater. I drove to school in my old crappy Jeep. I loved my Jeep. It still works even though it has a couple of dents here and there. By the time I parked, people were already staring at me. I could hear people whispering,
"Is it her. Is she the one who's family died. That must suck for her."
I saw Shelby and her group walk past me.
"What a loser. Who wears those?" Shelby laughed.
"At least I don't dress like a slut," I replied.
Her face lit up and dashed towards me. She held her fist in the air as if she was about to punch me. She stopped as soon as James yelled her name.
"Shelby! What's going on?" He demanded.
Oh, nothing. I was just complementing her outfit," she shakily replied.
James didn't look impressed, but went along with it. He held Shelby's hand and kissed her in front of me. I could see Shelby's eyes darting in my direction. I was almost in tears. I quickly started walking away from them and covered my face with my arm, so people wouldn't see me crying. I started walking faster as more tears rolled down my face.
I bumped into something hard and I immideatly fell back, but something caught me. I didn't pay attention to who or what I bumped into, so I kept walking forward while covering my eyes.
"Wait. You dropped-"
I could hear footsteps following behind me. I automatically thought that it was Shelby, so I yelled,
"Get the hell away from me Shelby. Just leave me alone!"
I ran as far as I could from Shelby and ended up in the locker hallway. I looked around and there is no sign of Shelby. Thank God! I calmed myself down and opened my locker. Tears were still dripping down my face. I took out my books and placed them into my pink backpack that was on the floor. As soon as I was about to close my locker, someone slammed the door of my locker shut. I quickly turned around and I was face to face with a boy. We were inches away from each other. His hands were between 2 lockers, so escaping would be out of the question. He was extremely tall with chocolate brown eyes and curly brown hair.
"I finally caught you!" He said.
He looked at me and noticed that I was crying. His eyes were filled with sadness.
I stepped on his foot as hard as I could and I ran for my life. He yelped in pain and fell to the floor. He got up and ran after me again. I kept running until I reached a dead end. The boy caught up to me and stood right in front of me. I closed my eyes tightly.
"Please don't hurt me!" I panicked.
"I'm not going to hurt you. I just wanted to give this back to you." He laughed while panting.
I opened one of my eyes and saw my pencil pouch in his hand. I reached for it, but he snatched it away from me. I tried to reach it again, but he held it high up so I wouldn't reach it.
"You're having fun aren't you," I demanded.
"Sort of," he said while smiling.
"Please, just give it back," I begged.
"What would I get in return then?" He questioned.
"I don't know."
"How about...friends," he said while holding his hand out for me to shake.
"Friends," I said while shaking his hand.
"The name is Matt. What's yours?"
El....aa," I whispered.
"I couldn't hear you, could you repeat it?" He laughed.
As soon as I started saying my name, he began to tickle me. I fell to the floor and started laughing.
"Stop it!" I laughed in between tickles.
"Oh, so I can't tickle you, but you can step on my feet?"
Matt kept tickling me and kept laughing while I was the helpless on on the floor. As soon as the bell rang, I quickly stood up and walked to my class. I noticed that Matt was following me, so I bolted to my class. As soon as I got into my seat, I noticed Matt was standing in my class.
"Everybody meet Matt, our new student." said the teacher.
"You got to be kidding me," I whispered.
I covered my face with my book. I saw Matt walking closer towards me. He sat in the seat next to mine. I lowered my book and noticed that Matt was staring at me.
"Hello Ella," he said sweetly while smiling.
