This was the day I moved into my new house, and the day I first met Luke. I was up in my tree house, a gift from my mom. I was singing to my favorite song while I decorated the inside of the tree house when I heard a voice say, "I love that song."
I look out my window and see a blonde haired boy behind the fence of my backyard. "Hello there." he says.
"Hi." I reply nervously, because I was the shy type and plus, he was a guy.
"What's your name?" he asks casually. I subconsciously run my fingers through my brunette hair just in case it was messing and reply, "Charlie, Charlie Roe."
"Luke Hemmings, and you have a lovely name." My cheeks turn a bit pink and I thank him quietly. He thinks my name is lovely!
It was a bit quiet for a sec, until Luke asks, "Ummm, can I come over your house, to hang out? I know we kind of just met but you're like my somewhat neighbor 'cause I live behind you. And I'm not doing anything and we should get to know each other?"
"My house?" I say, shocked, and blank out for a minute until I quickly reply back. "Oh, um, yeah. Just lemme ask my mom."
I yell in the direction of my house, "Mom, some boy wants to come over! And I promise, we're not gonna have sex because we just met!" Luke laughs and I grin, because I just made him laugh.
"Yeah, he can come over." my mom yells back from inside the house.
I look out my window and say, "You can come stranger."
"Ok." he replies with a smile. Luke picks up a ladder from his backyard and puts it against his/my fence. He climbs up and jumps into my back yard.
"I'm here!" he yells.
"That was quick." I giggle. We were acting so casual with each other, which was not normal for a guy and girl who just met five minutes ago. We just, clicked. I climb down my ladder and walk over to where he was standing.
"Hi." he says with a crooked grin, which made me smile back at him.
"Hi." I reply.
"Umm, nice to meet you handshake?" he asks, then sticks out his hand.
"Oh, umm..." He wants to shake my hand! Wow, he's willing to touch me! My insides flutter.
I guess I took too long to think, because Luke pulls back his hand and scratches his head. His face turns red from embarrassment.
"S-sorry, maybe I-I should go." he stutters.
"No, wait!" I say, grabbing his hand. He turns around and looks at me, then at our hands.
