I'm Charlie. I live in Sydney, Australia with my mom. My best friend is Luke Hemmings. Well, you can say ex-best friend. He left Australia to go on tour about three years ago and never spoke to me again. But I'm okay with that, somewhat. He has his own life now, without me in it. This has always been Luke's dream, to become known to the world. I didn't want him to leave because I loved him. But I guess he didn't have the same feelings as me.
I go on Instagram and check on the updates. I notice that I have gained a whole bunch of followers, which was strange. I see a whole bunch of accounts that had the names Michael, Calum, Ashton, and Luke in it or the words Five Seconds of Summer. I just shrug it off even though the names sounded awfully familiar and continue to scroll through some photos and tags, until one particular tag catches my eye. My eye brows furrow as I click on it.
It was a picture of me under a red umbrella in the rain. I look at the corner of my room where the umbrella was leaning against the wall been and smile because it contained so many memories. Looking back at my phone, I see that I wasn't the only person in the photo. There was also a boy standing under the red umbrella with me. He was actually the one holding it. I look at it closely to see who it was, and then look to see who posted it.
"Calum Hood." I read out loud. Calum Hood...
"OH MY GOD!" I suddenly yell out as I start to remember. Calum Thomas Hood. I read his comment.
Going to visit a close friend of mine and the boys. :) @_charlieroe__
"WHAT?!?!" I screech as I jump out of bed and run downstairs. They were coming to visit?!? How come I didn't know?!? And how the heck did Calum find my Instagram?
I run into the kitchen where my mom was cooking breakfast. She was cooking a lot for just two people. I guess she heard me yell because once I entered the kitchen she asked, "Why were you yelling? And great timing too! I have to tell you something."
I now knew why she was cooking a lot of food. I was panting a bit since I ran the whole way down here to the kitchen so I said, "Luke, Calum, Michael, Ashton, coming to visit. Food for them."
My mom just laughs and replies, "Stop talking like a caveman. And yes they are coming. Liz called me a few hours ago. You were still asleep when she called so that's why I didn't tell you earlier."
"Oh," I say, still surprised that they were coming to visit after three years. And Luke...
"Luke is coming." I state. My mom stares at me confusingly as she flips a pancake over and says, "Yeah... It's pretty obvious isn't it?"
She sees how uneasy I felt by my body language and laughs to lighten the mood. "Ok, you should go get ready. They're coming in about an hour."
"What?!?" I yell again. "An hour isn't enough time!"
"Well, you better get ready then." my mom replies as she pours the pancake batter onto the pan. I nod my head and then quickly rush back upstairs.
I run into my room and grab my phone from off the bed. I go on Calum's Instagram to find a photo of all of the boys, and I did. And I would be lying if I said that puberty didn't do them good. Because hell, they looked hot. Call me a stalker, but who wouldn't stalk them?
Ashton, he looked very different. His dirty blonde hair was now grown out and his hazel eyes looked a bit darker. But how would I know? I haven't seen the boys in three years.
I look at the the person next to him, and it's Michael. His hair was dyed red, which reminded me of my hair because I had red highlights in my brown hair. He also had two eye brow piercings, like me. The next person I see is Calum, and he turned out very nice. He had blonde streak in his hair and it made him look even more handsome than before. If we weren't best friends (if we still are), I would have dated him.
And last but not least, Luke Robert Hemmings, the boy who didn't know he broke my heart. His hair was still the same blonde color but it was in a quiff. He had a lip ring (which I also had) and I felt an old feeling come back to me. I didn't want it anymore, no. I moved on already.
I know, how could I not remember 5sos since they did originate from Syndey, Australia, where I live. I must really be clueless.
I realized that I was wasting my time by thinking so I hop into the shower. After I finish, I change into black skinny jeans with holes on the knees, a white plain tank top, a dark red flannel, and my Chuck Taylor monochrome high top Converse.
For makeup I wear my usual mascara and black eye liner. My outfit was actually pretty nice, in my opinion. It showed my personality.
I was wondering, why did this happen all of a sudden? We haven't talked or contacted each other for three years. So why start now?
I hear the doorbell ring, cuing me to walk downstairs to greet everyone. I walk out of my room and halfway down the stairs when I hear my mom say, "Oh Luke! You look all grown up now!"
"Thanks Lucy," I hear him reply. His voice sounded much deeper than before. And it sounded hot. I shake my head to get rid of the thoughts that were coming into my head and walk a step down.
I suddenly feel nervous. What should I say? I look down at myself. Should I go back and change? Luke might think I'm trying too hard. I hear other voices.
"Hello Lucy," I hear Ashton say.
"Hello Ashton, nice to see you again!" my mom says. Michael and Calum greet her also and Ashton asks, "Where's Charlie?"
"Oh, she's upstairs. Charlie!!! Come down here." she says then tells the boys, "I'll be in the kitchen for a min."
My heart beat intensifies as I slowly walk down the stairs. "Charlie!! Long time no see!!"
