I stood there in my room. My arms are around Ashley. She's sobbing in my chest and I'm trying to calm myself and not break down.
"I don't want you to leave. I'll-I'll be all alone," she said sobbing even more. She dug her head in my chest and just cried. Hearing her cry and be sad made be break. I began crying and hid my face in her shoulder.
"It's okay. I promise. It's okay," I said trying to calm her down. She backed away and pushed me off. I had a confused look on my face.
"No Luke, no. It will never be okay. I love you. I love you." She said crying harder. She turned to open the door and stopped. She twirled around and kissed me.
"I'm sorry," she said and with that she opened the door and left. I sat on my bed. I put my headphones in and stared at the roof.
It must have been an hour before I went downstairs. I saw a note on the fridge:
Luke & Ashley,
Went out to clear our minds. I'll try to fix this. Somehow.
- Mom, and Dad
I took the note and ripped it in half then through it in the trash. I walked into the living room to see Ashley asleep on the couch. I looked around the living room. On the coffee table there was a sticky note:
Moving: 2 weeks from tomorrow.
2 weeks. I had 2 weeks. 2 weeks with her, the rest of my life without her. And in that moment I began crying. I cried and cried and cried.
Ashley woke up and I didn't want her to see me like this. I began wiping my face but the tears kept coming.
"Luke!" She hugged me and began crying. No not crying, balling. Hugged me tighter and sobbed in my chest.
"Ashley! Ashley! What happened?" I asked. She stopped crying and looked up at me. There was makeup under her eyes.
"N-Nothing. Just a bad dream," she said biting her lip.
"About what?" I asked curiously.
"Nothing," she said quickly.
"Ashley," I said looking her deep in the eye. Tears rolled down her face.
"You left. Before you left you said you promised you'd be back. I was alone. And-and you never came back," she said leaning forward and sobbing in my chest.
"Ashley, it's okay. I'll always be with you no matter what." I said calming her down.
"What about when you move? Where are you moving? What if you move out of country?" She asked breathing slowly to calm herself down.
"Ashley, I don't think I'll be moving anywhere out of this state," he said wiping my face.
"How long do we have until you move?" She asked quietly.
"2 weeks," I said looking up at her, "and the rest of my life."
She looked up at me with surprise. She smiled and kissed me.
"I love you Luke Hemmings ," she said smiling so big.
"And I love you Ashley Hubbard," I said grinning from ear to ear.
The door opened and Luke's parents walked in. Luke immediately got up and walked over to them. Them began a conversation and I couldn't make out what they were saying but it didn't look good. A tear streamed down Luke's face and he quickly wiped it away.
He must have heard bad news because he covered his mouth and backed up. Then he pushed a lamp of a table and say with his knees to his chest against a wall.
"Luke! Luke I'm sorry!" Liz said with water in her eyes. Seeing Luke like this mad me sad.
I got up and walked over to where they were.
"W-what happened?" I said scared of the answer.
"We told him where we were moving to," Liz said looking at Luke. He was just staring in front of him.
"Where are you moving?" I asked already knowing it was going to be far away.
"Australia," his dad said. I covered my mouth and ft a tear run down my face. We're in Missouri. He's moving to Australia. I sat down next to Luke and stared forward with him.
"Everything's going to be okay. Remember?" I said calmingly.
"Ya, I remember," he said still staring forward. Then he turned ago face me.
"It's not like it's the end of the world," he said giggling, "we'll see each other when we're older. Then we'll get married okay?"
"Promise?" I said giggling.
