I awoke in one of the chairs that were in front of the fireplace. I have no idea how I got here but at the same time I didn’t care. I could hear the crackle of the fire and feel the leather of the arms that lined the grand chair. The stonework was just like the grand room at Kecastle but if I am at home whatever happened outside?
I start to get up but I am to week to stand that and I was not in a hurry either as something came from the side of the room that was just off to my right. I saw the glow and it settled into something that I thought it was just someone accidently put another hole into the walls.
I went back to looking at the fire but still wary about the flash. It was so off and unusual that I started to wonder where my sword was. The fire was crackling wildly as my heart was pounding and it wasn’t because I was afraid but excited to see what was coming my way.
“Hello, are you here for me?” I asked and the figure barely stuck its head out before dodging back behind the corner. I smiled thinking that this creature or person was not technically supposed to be here in the castle but is on a mission for me in some way, that’s the theory.
“Mistele?” the creature called out and I confirmed it for him. The man looked normal and every day though his ears were like a spellbound and if he was a wizard he didn’t have a wand. His smile was white as a clean stone and hair that shown a wooden brown. He had a cloak around his neck that was a bright red and the hood was down. I could see something else underneath the tie of the cloak but I didn’t inquire about it since I knew what type of creature this person was.
They are called time healers and protectors and I was honored one was in my presence but why? I didn’t want to ask since they are normally around to save something or someone.
“What are you here for?” I finally got out of my mouth and he was smiling. He leaned against the pillar and chuckled. I tilted my head a little in question while I wanted to move but something about this person told me it was safe, everything was going to be ok.
“To give you a chance, a way to regenerate once.” He chimed in a sing-song type of way that was almost like a child knowing a secret. I didn’t know what he meant by that as I agreed to take his gift.
“Will this be permanent?” I asked. I caught his eyes and they looked calm and cherry. I looked down at my feet while I was ashamed at my question since I should be honored.
“You should know that answer.” He chimed as he came forth and I moved to a chair that would be easier for him to do his work.
I felt his warm hands around my neck and the yellow dust start to swell around my face. The man tried to find my temples and once he did I felt the want of life seep into me. I accepted it greatly knowing that I was going to live through this, I am going to be safe.
