The quest for the Lifstone

The dark depths of the dragons lair, the ever winter snowflake, the cloak of every mage, I have seen them all but I am going to face the hardest challenge that I had ever faced... The race before death takes me forever....

19. chapter 19

I looked up at the sun thinking that something was not right with me not finding a Lifstone. I wish that I was able to find one while having a bit of freedom. I sat up with my head berried in my hands.

“What’s wrong?” Bill asked and I glared at him.

“There is no Lifstone down there. Or I didn’t see one.” I sighed with my head in my hands.

Bill stood up and stretched his hand out to me and I took it. “I know you way to well that you are just not going to stop.” He was right as I knew that I was getting slower and stronger at the same time.  I grasped his hand and I stood up thinking that I just have to keep looking.

The days had become colder and winter showed itself by the first flakes that I had seen. I had seen snow before but not like this before I was seeing each one as a beautiful creature. I spun around as Bill watched with a smile on his face.

“Or just stop for a moment.” I chimed as I lifted my arms up to my eyes just to see the flakes melt. I had forgotten how beautiful the world around me is and now I see it as one of the few times in my life that I just stopped.

“I can see that Mistele.” Bill chimed and it turned into another moment for us. I wish that I could say what I want to say to him but my tongue once again tied on me again.

“I had moments like this but not as beautiful as it is right now because it is the first snow that I had seen of the season.” I sighed while I looked back toward Disastraprone.

“You think we should go back?”  Bill asked and I didn’t want to say. We had been searching for almost four months. I was starting to think that this was a mistake of leaving Disastrarone.

“I’m…not sure.” I breathed thinking that we had already been banned from that place how can we go back?

“Well being here in the woods is clearly not helping you anymore like we thought it would.” Bill sighed and I agreed since I was starting to miss Grag. However I knew that I couldn’t go to my kingdom yet until I finish my quest.

“No we should keep searching! We will find one.” I yelped making Bill jump. As soon as he settled down from being startled he started to just run through the woods.

“Then we should get to the next town soon!” He called back and I smiled thinking that the chase was on without a care for once in this quest.
