14. chapter 14
“What why? All I need is just one good Lifstone and I am out of your kingdom for as long as you like.” I begged and I am almost devastated to hear that I have nothing to go by and I had stabbed myself in the foot. I could see the tears form puddles around me.
“In all due respect Myter, I have to watch my own kind. My people come first in my sector than anyone else though we do have room for a few strays if you wait.” She chimed and I understood what she said but I did not want to wait because I only have a curtain amount of time to live.
“But I have a death clock that is falling faster than I would have ever imagined?” I yelled and I watched as she stepped down the steps to my body.
“Get what you can get.” Bill whispered to me and the quean must have heard him.
“I suggest you do what your friend says even though I do like to see this clock. However, it will not matter to me because you don’t act sick or even look sick at all.” The queen debated and I was ready to grasp my sword but Bill came to my aid for a moment.
“Your majesty my I present Mestele’s death clock.” Bill chimed and held my clock up to let the queen examine it. The queen kindly grasped it from him and surveyed it thoroughly. Her red eyes dimmed as if the anger was almost gone. She flipped my clock around and it made me nervous since I have no idea what would happen if the clock broke.
“My, this is a stellar piece of machinery and wizardry. “ The queen chimed and then handed back the death clock to Bill and stood straight up to where she towered over us.
“Very well, Mistele. You can see what we have in our stash or what we have left in there.” She huffed and walked back to her throne. I felt relieved that she is letting me get to her stash till I remembered one thing she had just mulled over me by letting me look in an old stash instead of something that was fairly new.
I started to say something but Bill was already saying words for me. He started to pull me away as he said these words that were like portrayal to me. “We thank you many times your grace, we will not destroy this act of kindness”
“You are welcome travelers.” She chimed and then ordered her guards to show us to the stash.
