"You are my sunshine. My only sunshine. You make me happy when skies are grey. You'll never know dear how much I love you, please don't take my sunshine away." I sang and placed a kiss on the child's forehead and tucked him in.
I walked to his door and flipped off the lights when I heard a sleepy voice, "love you."
I turned around to face the four year old and smiled softly, "to the moon and back, Bryson."
As I made my way to my bedroom, I found James at the fridge.
"Hey babe. How was work?" I asked him, wrapping my arms around his neck.
He turned around and kissed my nose, "good. How was your day?"
Frowning I said; "Well Brice got beat up at school today by some second graders."
James grabbed my wrists and lead me to the table, we sat down and he said; "Damn. Is he okay?"
I shrugged, "he's pretty torn up about it. James, this is the third time this has happened and he's only in Kindergarden. It's just going to get worse as he gets older. His school has no discipline. I say we home school."
James rubbed his head and after a while he sighed, "why can't we just switch schools?"
I laughed sarcastically and slid onto his lap, "because... There's not another school in hundreds of miles from here. Even if we did switch we wouldn't be able to pay the fee."
"So we'll move."
"Don't be foolish, we can't afford that either." I said rubbing his shoulders.
After James and I talked more I made my way into our bedroom when I realized that we need band-aids for Bryson. It's only eight and the store doesn't close until nine.
I grabbed my keys and informed James of where I was going, walked out the door, then got into my car.
