So, hello there, I see you're interested in our epic race. Welcome!
We all know NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) is a huge challenge, but sometimes we just want to up the ante! So we've decided to host a race inspired by @Whitman last year. Yes, you read correctly, a NaNo race. You better get your writing hat on because last year the fastest person to reach 50,000 words (@Lelacool) did so in only 20 days averaging 2,500 words a day.
We never said this was going to be easy.
Here's how it's going to work
Every week we will post a list of all us Wrimos and our current word counts. This means you can see how close you are to the top and how much ground you're going to have to make the next week.
To do this we will need your help. If I have you as a buddy on NaNoWriMo I will look up your word counts myself (if you tell me what your name is on nanowrimo.org). If not, you will have to message me, GeorgiaT, or K.s Nightshade originals to tell us your word count for it to be updated. If you find out about the race and it's already begun, don't worry, you can still join in!
If you're doing the Young Writers Programme, that's okay too. We'd still love to have you! There will be a separate list for people participating in the YWP.
The more the merrier!
How to win
It's simple really. Reach 50,000 words before any other Movellian.
YWP - reach your word goal before any other YWP Movellian.
What you win
The glory and awe of your fellow Movellians of course.
The first person to reach the finish will also headline our NaNoWriMo 2014 Winners List!
Not only this but they will get a review and a week of recommendation from K.s Nightshade originals! GeorgiaT and myself are also offering constructive criticism to the winner. Yes, THREE pieces of feedback for that super writer!
But don't worry, everybody who reaches the goal will be on the NaNoWriMo 2014 Winners List so there's plenty to strive for.
Let battle commence.
