My eyes flutter open.
I sit up and stretch my arms. Gazing around, I notice most are asleep but I see Calum and another person rush inside when the doors of the walls open.
I rush over to the walls but the same silver hair boy stops me. "Don't go in there."
"He's right, don't go in there." The blonde boy, Luke, says to me. "It's dangerous in there."
I sigh and walk away.
Whistling to myself, I lean against the tree.
I watch everyone else work. Feeling quite guilty that I am doing nothing while others work hard.
I think hard to remember anything about me but nothing comes back. Not even my name.
All of a sudden, I hear growling. I turn around to see Ian, a runner of the maze, snarling at me. His eyes pitch black and foam was starting to form in his mouth.
Then he charge at me and I immediately shoot off in the direction of the centre of the Glade.
"Help!" I yell out.
Michael runs up to me. "What's going on?"
"Ian. Trying to kill me,"
Then we turn around to see the scowling Ian.
"Ashton! Get help!" Michael called out to Ashton, who was working nearby.
He notices Ian and rushes off. A flash later, men crowd Ian.
Luke drags me away from the group. "I don't want you to watch this."
"Why? What is happening to Ian?" I ask.
"He got stung by a griever." Luke replied, no expression on his face. Not even a bit of emotion.
The men finally capture Ian, thick ropes holding him down. He let out a guttural sound.
They push him into a cage and Ian tries to the break the wooden bars.
"We leave him until the maze closes," Calum says to Luke, his eyes gliding to me.
Luke nods. "We have to."'
Ian is dragged out of his cell. They were near the maze and the men are cornering him to the entrance of the maze.
"Please!" Ian begs. "Don't leave me in there."
Everyone ignores him and continues pushing him in with sharp spears pointing towards him.
"There are grievers out there, they'll kill me!"
Tears are leaking out of my eyes. I don't want to watch, yet I'm watching.
"Please!" Ian begs once more but once again, no one replies.
He tries to escape but spears surround him. They start to walk towards Ian more speedily, pushing into the maze until he was in the maze.
"Please! I beg you!"
Then the maze start to close. When the entrance shuts close, a ear-splitting scream rings in the air.
A tear slowly fall down my cheek.
Luke walks up to me and pulls me into an embrace.
"It's okay." He whispers in my ear. "It's okay."
I was in a sobbing mess, staining Luke's clothes with my tears. He then picks me up, bridal style, while I have tears streaming my face.
Slowly, I met darkness.
