3. The Garden
Once I was finished writing notes about the strange rose in my notebook, I stood up from my seat and slid my pencil to the notebook spiral. I held my notebook by my side as I walked out of my father's study. I walk down a few hallways, then up to a maid. "If mother or father need me, I'll be in the garden." I report to her. She nods and carries on with her work. I continue on until I reach the door that leads out to our exquisite garden.
I open double glass doors and walk out into a scenery of perfectly cut bushes and beautifully grown flora, with only some morning birds chirping and fluttering about. To me, the garden is somewhat of a maze, but I love it nonetheless. I enjoy getting lost in the garden. It's peaceful here. I made my way towards where the strange rose stood alone. There's absolutely nothing but dirt and soil around the peculiar flower. I walked up to the rose and crouched down in front of it. I observed the rose closely, taking not of its obscurity.
I noticed how the rose almost shimmered in the morning sunlight. Has it been recently watered? But I don't believe anyone else except I knows of it's existence in our garden... Just as I was about to reach out towards the flower to pluck it from the ground, I heard a noise nearby within the bushes. I looked up, but didn't see anything. I glanced behind me and saw nothing. I looked to my left-- nothing; Then to my right, and saw...
