1. One

I just moved to Australia, my dad's boss thought the company needed him more in Australia. It was just my dad and I, my mum left us when I was very young. My dad had given everything to me, and he had taught me so much, and he was both my mom and dad. There was two weeks until school started and it was senior year, which meant I only had one year left of high school. I was lying on my bed looking through old magazines. I looked around in my new bedroom; boxes upon boxes were stacked in the room, the only thing actually unpacked was my bed and closet.

"Zel, dinner tonight what are we having?" My dad popped in his head. "I'll cook something, lasagna, is that good?" I said as my dad simply just nodded "Great, you know it's my favourite. You're my little star Zelda" he smiled and closed the door. My dad always encouraged me to pursue my dream, but I didn't know which, I loved singing, playing the piano, cooking and playing the guitar.

Zelda Lexa Carman was my full name. My dad had an obsession with the game Zelda and thought it would be 'amazing' to name me after it. I didn't mind the name, but everyone who wanted to know my name always seemed surprised when I told them. When I was 4 years old, my mum left us. I used to sit by the window in my room, waiting for her to come back, but she never did. She probably had a reason for leaving, I don't want to know the reason. My dad is good enough for me, if my mum didn't want us in her life, I had no interest in having her in ours. I stood up from the bed and walked over to the closet; it had a giant mirror attached to it and I studied myself in it. My reflection showed a fit girl, with long golden brown curly hair and two silver grey eyes staring back at her. My hair always seemed to wanna hide my eyes, as I stared back at my reflection, my hair fell down over my face.

When I had had enough of my own reflection, I made my way to the kitchen finding everything I needed for making the lasagna. "So how do you like it here?" My dad asked "Not sure what to say daddy, but so far so good. My room is nice and maybe I'll check out town tomorrow just go get a look at where I'm spending the next 5 years of life" I said whilst cooking dinner. My dad nodded "Yeah, will you be good on your own? You know I already start work tomorrow". I simply nodded and gave him a forced smile. We then had dinner, watched at bit of TV, and then we both went to bed.
