I wasn't sure that we did the right choice, but still, I wanted one last time to see my parents. Niall had to wake up earlier to what he was used to. He was also forced to take on a protective ointment to be out when the sun still was up. He didn't like the idea, but he did it for my sake.
"Are you sure?" I asked therefore uncertain. "I can go home to them alone?"
He smiled and he shook his head.
"You know I want to go with you and maybe that even I can get an experience?" He blushed a little bit. "I have no direct meet in-laws before."
I laughed a little bit.
"Are you serious?"
"I haven't had the opportunity."
I was amused, I was curious and I wanted to know more.
"Have you ever had girlfriend before?"
He quickly shook his head and his cheeks became only more red.
"No, not if you mean girlfriend as in a relationship."
I was surprised. Niall was handsome and he should have had many girls who stood in line, in order to capture him. He was charming and he was funny. Therefore, I wondered why he was so inexperienced. As always, he read my thoughts.
"I haven't always been confident." he said in explanation. "And I haven't dared to directly invest in a relationship before, not until I met you."
I assumed that I understood him. Although I hadn't dared to be with guys, before Niall. Maybe we were of the same ilk?
"It's okay!" I said and I walked up to him. Niall smiled at me and he took his arms around my body.
"Yes, we fit together." he whispered tenderly. "That's why I'm so sure about you."
I kissed him and I smiled at him. Perrie was wrong and Niall was right. I belonged with him.
"Shall we go?" he asked, and then he released me. I nodded and followed him to the door. My mind immediately began to be directed toward my mother and I wasn't sure how she would react.
I didn't have rich parents, but they lived in a normal house and they had managed to pay off the loan. I knew they had dreamed about more than what they got, but somehow they were still proud of what they had. Niall parked the car outside the house and we sat there some extra minutes, just to get used to it all. Niall took my hand and he smiled at me.
"I'm ready when you're ready."
I nodded and I gave him a quick glance. Then I took a deep breath and I opened the car door. We went to the door and I felt how my legs were shaking.
Mom opened the door and then it was as if she just lost the ability to talk. Mom just stared at us.
"Hello?" I got out. Niall stood behind me and I felt his hand around my waist. Without him I would probably had just screamed straight out?
"Hello?" Mom got up and then she looked at Niall. I cleared my throat a little bit and I chose to introduce him.
"This is Niall." I said a little friendly. "My boyfriend."
She was amazed.
"Do you have a boyfriend?" she said in surprised. "No wonder you haven't called me."
I blushed and Niall held out his hand to her.
"Nice to meet you ma'am."
"Oh, I'm actually Marry and it's nice to meet you."
I was surprised. Niall spoke with both mom and dad, as if they knew each other. He melted into the family and he was more sociable towards what I had imagined. My parents were exceptionally nice and they didn't say anything nasty to me. It was as if I had two brand new parents and I had no idea that they even existed, before. Normally they had said something about that I should pull myself together, get a good job, get rich, be nicer and so much more. Now they were just friendly and talked to us as if they cared.
"You are welcome anytime." Mom said when we would leave them. I almost didn't dared to breathe. It was the first time that she wanted me to come back.
"We'll see when we get the time." Niall replied, and he even got a hug from her. I chose to keep myself in the background, and something inside me began to suspect that Niall had something with their kindness to do.
"Bye beloved daughter!"
Mom hugged me and I almost fainted. I got a hurry to leave the house and I felt panic. She was changing to something and I was scared about that fact. Niall was just amused and when we got back to the car, he laughed a little bit.
"You're white in the face?"
I sat down quickly in the car.
"That wasn't my mother?"
He got behind the wheel and he smiled at me.
"Well it was your mother."
I disagreed with him and I saw at him that he wasn't telling me the whole truth.
"How did you do that?"
He smiled awry.
"How do you mean?"
"You did so they were kind to us? Right?"
Niall turned the key and the car started. He smiled mysteriously out to the road and he didn't answer my question. I was almost annoyed at him.
"Come on!" I exclaimed. "How did you do that?"
He drove us to his house. His face told me everything. Niall smiled and he seemed to avoid me.
"Be glad that your last meeting with them went so well." he said kindly. "It doesn't matter what I had done. I didn't think you'd remember a boring meeting."
I swallowed. I realized that it really was the last time that I would meet them. I become quiet and I looked out on the street. The sun was going down and I could feel the tiredness in my body. What else did I want to do before I completely should disappeared from the world? I let my thoughts spinning around and I tried to envision how my future would looked like.
"We can do whatever you want."
I woke up and I saw that Niall had parked the car outside his (our) house. I looked tired at him and I already knew that he had been reading my thoughts.
"I don't know what it is I want to do."
Niall smiled and he took my hand in his. He stroked his thumb over my palm and he looked straight into my eyes.
"Just because you choose this life, it doesn't mean that you will completely be away from life."
He looked out over the yard and then he looked at the house.
"We can move, if that's what you want to do." he looked at me again. "I'm ready to do whatever you want to do."
"Move?" I was surprised. "You mean we..." I paused. Niall nodded and he smiled a little bit.
"We don't need to stay here." he said kindly. "You might want to travel and see something else?"
"But you're their leader?"
"There were vampires at the meeting who don't even live in this country." he said as explanation. "A vampire can move quickly and I don't need to be in the center just because I'm the leader."
I had no idea about that.
"Can you fly?"
"There are many things we can do." he whispered. "And one day, maybe you can do the same thing?"
I became silent. That feeling of choosing appeared. He wanted me to say yes to all of his choices and I wasn't sure I wanted to say yes, not yet. I knew that one day I had to deal with the issue, but for now I just wanted to just live. I wished that time would stand still and nothing would change.
"I like it here." I said quickly, "I like your house and this is where I grew up."
He understood me.
"But the world is big." he said "We can travel and then come home?"
"I'll think about it."
Niall nodded and then he leaned toward me. He kissed me lightly on the lips.
"Dare to tell me about your dreams." he whispered hoarsely. "I'm here for you and I do everything for you, so you'll be happy."
His words warmed me inside and I felt butterflies in my stomach.
