A peacekeeper took us away. I could tell it was not Aludah under that suit. The keeper's grip was to harsh, and he was too short.
I entered a room and was sat down.
"You will have 20 minutes to talk to your friend and family." he said.
The word friend reminded me that it was only Scarlett, and that Aiden would be with me. That hurt.
I sat in silence, thinking of how I would die. Maybe I would be murdered, but it could also be natural causes. Starvation, de-hydration. Or... suicide. No. I couldn't let Scarlett live with that. I will try and stay alive for Scarlett. But then Aiden would be... dead.
I was so lost in my thoughts that I didn't hear the commotion in the hall. Then the door burst open.
"Ronnie! Oh! My little girl, going to fight." she threw herself at me, gripping me in a hug.
"Mum, I'm 16. I'm not little." I laughed. Then I looked over her shoulder. There stood the best friend in the world.
"Scarlett? Oh, don't cry Scarlett!" I was nearly in tears myself.
"I don't want you to go! I feel bad, because I chose you over Aiden, because they said that you might pass messages to each other for an escape, and I could be the messenger, so Icouldn't see you both. But you've been my best friend since we were 4 years old. Twelve years, that's how long we've known each other!!!" she cried.
"I know, but I have to go. It's law."
"Why didn't I VOOUUULLLLEEEENNNNNTTTEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRR!!!!!!!" Scarlett yelled.
"Because it'd still be the same, but you'd be the one fighting." I replied.
There was a sharp knock on the door. Then the peacekeepers burst in.
"Say your goodbyes. It may be your last goodbyes forever." one said, and grabbed my mother and dragged her out, and another did the same to Scarlett.
"Nooo! That's my baby!" my mother screamed.
"Nooo! That's my best friend!" Scarlet cried.
My beautiful mother, gone. I'll never see her again, and deep down, she knows it.
Hi guys, I hope you like the chapter. I tried to think of the character's personalities, and went off that. Ronnie's mother is really... cosy? I think that's what you say, and Scarlett just yells. And screams. And cries.
