Shining Stars

“You were going to find out anyway.” I say as I take off all of my bracelets . I get up and sit next to him, tears falling from my eyes, holding my wrists out for him to see them. “Just like these.” I whisper.

38. Dysfuctional Group of People

Mia's POV:

"I've been trying really hard to stop. I did for a while, but the fans and the rumors got to me and I slipped up yesterday." I explain to the doctor/counselor. This is the second time I've explained this to him. Yesterday I did, and now today I am. I hate counselors.

"Are you planning on stopping again?" He asks. I nod. "Are you depressed?" He asks.

"Yeah, but not like I used to be." I simply say.

"I'm not going to put you on any medication. I think your going to be fine. But I'm serious, don't let the fans get to you, and don't do it again, okay?" He says.

I nod and he smiles before he leaves the room. I sigh as I lay back down on the hospital bed. It's only Sunday, so I have to leave tomorrow morning. Calum stayed all night last night and I really didn't want him to, but he insisted. Katie is coming back tonight from visiting Jaces family. Eve and the guys have been really supportive and stayed all morning today and some of last night.

I stare at the IV in my arm. They put another one in this morning. It's taped down with a piece of tape and a band-aid. I can't believe I'm in the hospital. This is the second time I've been here because of my cutting. When I was thirteen it was bad and my dad had to take me to the hospital. My mum was at work and was scared to death when she came to see me in the hospital.

"Hey," Calum says as he enters the room, disrupting my thoughts. "I brought you yogurt, your favorite." He smiles.

"Thank you." I smile as he hands it to me. He kisses my cheek and I blush softly and take his beanie. I giggle at his messy hair and put the beanie on my head.

"There's a reason why I had that on you know." Calum laughs. I laugh as he takes it back and fixes it in the mirror. I love how he can make me laugh in the saddest situations.

"Thank you for being here." I say. "For helping me through this." Calum has been here the whole time. He hasn't left the hospital once since he brought me here. Not to shower, not to tell his parents or sister whats going on. He just stayed here the whole time only for me.

"You don't have to thank me. I want to be here for you." He says and then slowly trails off. "Yesterday, after the doctor stitched you up, I felt like such a jerk. I felt like the most horrible and miserable person in the world because you looked so helpless when you were sleeping, like you needed help and someone to save you and take the pain away." He says and takes a deep breath. "And I couldn't do that. I couldn't take away your pain or help you."

I take Calums hand and squeeze it tightly. "Just being here helps me a lot." I whisper. "Knowing that you love me is more than anything I could ask for."

Calum smiles and kisses me softly. "I love you." He smiles.

"I love you too." I whisper

"Oh my god, Mia!" Katie says as she quickly walks through the door and over to my bed side. I look up at her with half of a piece of pizza in my mouth. "I was worried sick!"

"I'm sorry." I whisper. "The fans were spreading all these rumors, saying I slept with someone other than Calum and that that was the reason we weren't together for those three days." I explain.

Katie sighs and Jace smiles at me. "We're glad you're okay." He says. I smile up at him, knowing he doesn't really know what to say.

"Thank you Calum. Thank you doesn't seem like enough but thank you." She says as she looks over at him.

Calum smiles and takes my hand. "Anytime." He says. "She seen a counselor today, and yesterday." He explains. "They're not going to put her on any medication because they think that she's not really really depressed and that she will stop, because she already has before this time."

"I can understand that." Katie says and Jace nods. I cross my legs and continue to eat my pizza. "Did you sleep last night?" Katie asks.

"Calum snored because he wasn't comfortable, so not really." I say as I glare at him. "And he insisted on staying when I wanted him to go home but he was being a stubborn ass and wouldn't go."

Katie and Jace both laugh and sit down in some chairs in the front of the room. Calum leans back in his chair and rests his feet on the bed. "That's what boyfriends are here for." He smirks.

I roll my eyes and look over at Katie and Jace. "You don't have to stay here all night either." I say.

"We weren't planning on it." Katie smiles and comes back over to me. "We are gonna go though. I'll make your favorite breakfast tomorrow okay? Pancakes with Nutella?" I smile and nod.

Katie smiles and her and Jace say their goodbyes before they leave. "Eve isn't going to school tomorrow either." I say as my phone beeps from her text message. Calum nods and kisses my hand. He only really does this when something's wrong. "What's wrong?" I ask.

"Nothing, I just really want you home. I still feel like a worthless piece of shit because I can't help you." He says as he looks over at me but keeps his lips on my hand.

I smile. "Look at me." I say. "I'm fine. Just because I have an IV in doesn't make me not fine." I say.

"I know but-"

"No buts. I love you. I'm fine. I promise." I smile.

Calum smiles and laughs slightly before he kisses me.

+++ {The next morning Calums POV}

I watch as the doctor takes out Mia's IV. "You're ready to go." He says with a smile. The doctor then leaves and Mia smiles at me.

"I really want to go home." She sighs.

"You have to get dressed first." I say as I hand her her clothes. Mia groans and goes into the bathroom to change. I fix my beanie in the mirror and grab both of our phones and my bag that Luke brought with a change of clothes for me. Mia comes out of the bathroom, looking beautiful like always. She takes my hand and we make our way outside and into my car.

When we reach Mia's house I see that my mums car is here. Along with Michaels. "Why are people here?" Mia asks.

I shake my head. "I don't know, want me to walk you in?" I ask. Mia nods and we both get out of the car.

I open the door and we both walk into the kitchen. "Welcome home!" Everyone yells. I look around to see my mum, Mali, Eve, Ashton, Luke, Michael, Katie, and Jace.

"Before you find a way to complain, they all insisted on coming over." Katie says.

"That's a lie, she invited us." Ashton says. Mia and I both laugh.

{Mia's POV}

"You promised me pancakes and I don't see them." I whine.

"Do you have to whine?" Katie asks as she hands me my pancakes.

"It's my speciality." I smile and stand beside Eve and eat my pancakes. "Mali, did you make these?" I ask. Mali nods with a bright smile as Katie passes everyone a plate of pancakes.

"If you kids make a mess, you're all grounded." Katie says. "And just because I don't know your parents doesn't mean Calums mother can't ground you kids." She says as she points to Ashton, Luke, and Michael. I laugh as I make myself some tea. "I'm serious, Calums mum and I are going to eat in the livingroom."

"I love your aunt." Michael laughs. Luke and Ashton laugh and nod. "So how was the hospital?" Michael asks.

"Boring, and Calum snored a lot." I say. Calum rolls his eyes and steals my tea.

"That's what you get for making fun of my snoring." He says.

I glare at him and Mali slaps him. "I will burn all of your beanies." She warns. Calum groans and hands me back my tea. "I have to deal with him while you're at school. You're lucky I haven't killed him yet."

I laugh and my cup of tea falls on the floor. "MIA GRACE LANE." I hear Katie yell. I burst out laughing and so does everyone else. Eve gets down on the floor and helps me clean up the mess.

"We're a dysfunctional group of people." Luke laughs and shakes his head. I laugh and put the cup in the sink.

"Wanna go in my room?" I ask.

I watch as Calum looks at Ashton. And Ashton nods while Luke nods along with Calum. I scream as Ashton throws me over his shoulder. Then I see Michael throw Eve over his shoulder and Calum grab Malis legs while Luke grabs her arms. I start to hit Ashton's back as he races up to my room with everyone following.

"I hate both of you." Mali says as she points to Calum and Luke when she's set down on the floor.

Ashton throws me on my bed and Calum sits beside me. "Like I said," Luke says. "we're a dysfunctional group of people."

The winner is a Luke Fanfic. I'm sorry for all of you who wanted a Michael one but trust me, after I get the Luke one going, I'll make a Michael one. I promise. Love you allxx
