Leo felt something strange as the explosion hit. All tingly. Maybe he was undergoing a transformation – maybe he was a god. Chicks digged all immortal and manly gods.
Everything seemed to pass so slowly, as if he were taking a test. Leo brushed his hip, where his tool belt usually sat, only to find it not there. His heart jolted in panic for a second – but then he saw her.
As beautiful as the day he had first met her in Ogygia. Her hair tumbled loosely out of its pinup, tumbling over her delicate shoulders and white silken dress. Calypso’s eyes twinkled in recognition as she too, spotted Leo. Her perfectly pink lips spread in a smile. She was the most beautiful girl Leo had ever seen.
“Honey, I’m home,” Leo spread out his arms for an embrace. He had waited so long to hold her, smell her cinnamon fragrance.
He lowered his arms. He also needed a shower.
“Leo?” she called, awestruck.
She didn’t let her feelings get the better of her.
“I was expecting you sooner,” Calypso called.
“What can I say? Bad breath, terrible traffic. Take your pick.”
Calypso pulled Leo closer and kissed him. Leo almost melted – she was that hot.
“We’ve got some catching up to do.”
Leo kissed the top of Calypso’s head.
“That we do, hot stuff.”
“Do not call me that.”
Leo rolled his eyes dramatically.
“If you insist, sweet-pea,”
“You’re pushing it.”
“Lemon-drop, fuzzy wuzzy cutsey wutsey, sugar plum.”
Calypso laughed. Leo pulled her closely to him. He never wanted to let her go.
As he walked off into the sunset beach of Ogygia, Leo suspected something was off. How could everything finally be this perfect? No monsters, no quest, the girl of his dreams by his side, who was thought to be impossible to reach twice… why, it was almost as if he had stumbled into Elysium.
