After sitting at home doing nothing, I heard a knock at my door.
I opened it and Michael and Ashton stood in front of me.
"What's up mates?" I asked.
"Have you talked to Luke?" Michael asked.
"What about Helen?" Ashton asked.
I furrowed my eyebrows, "Haven't talked to her since they dropped us off. Why, what's up?"
"Well, I tried texting and calling them both, but they won't answer. It's at 2, what would they be doing?" Michael asked.
I shrugged and took my phone out to check if either of them texted me.
"Should we check on them?" Ashton asked.
I nodded. "Let me tell my Mum."
I left them at the door and went into my Mum's room.
She was folding clothes.
"Mum, I'm going to Luke's house. I'll be back later," I said.
"Okay, be careful," She told me.
I nodded and went back downstairs.
"Let's go," I told the guys and closed the house door behind me before locking it.
I got in the backseat of Ashton's car and he drove off.
Michael lightly knocked on white door and we waited.
Luke's car was in the driveway, so that told us he was home.
I heard the sound of the locks unhinge and Liz opened the door.
"Hi boys, come on in. Luke and Helen are in the living room," She said.
We all walked into the house and Liz closed the door.
"Surprised you haven't gotten tired of these two," Liz said and motioned to the couch.
Luke and Helen were both curled up on the couch. They had a blanket over them and the wooden table in front of them was a complete mess. Empty cans of AriZona tea and Red Bull littered the floor. There were two bowls that were empty except for a couple of crumbs.
Luke had his head against the arm rest. His arm was over Helen's head because she had her head on Luke's side. Luke was curled in a fetal position, while Helen was stretched out on the couch. Her body was on top of Luke's curled up legs.
"Are they dead?" I asked.
Liz laughed, "Oh, no dear. They just finished an all nighter."
"They stayed up all night?" Michael asked.
"Yes, they watched movies, ate and drank as you can see," She motioned to the mess that the twins made. "They've been asleep since 7 in the morning. Good luck waking them up, they're both heavy sleepers." Liz disappeared back into the kitchen.
"They pulled an all nighter without us?" Aston asked, he sounded betrayed.
"Clearly they did," I replied.
We sat in the couch adjacent to them and waited.
"Get me the Nutella," Helen mumbled.
I looked up from my phone and furrowed my eyebrows.
"What?" I asked.
I looked at Michael who was sitting next to me. The puzzled look he gave me, told me he had no idea what just happened.
"Is she sleep talking?" Ashton asked.
We all burst out laughing when we realized that Helen was sleep talking.
I was laughing so hard my sides began to hurt.
"But what will it take to wake them up?" Michael asked and gave me his mischievous smile.
After pulling their hair, blasting some Nickleback music, moving and readjusting their limbs, and making lots of noise with pots, they were still asleep.
"This is impossible," I said and sat on the couch.
Helen now had her head against Luke's butt cheek.
Michael was giggling at what he had done and took a picture.
"You think they'll notice?" Ashton asked.
"Nah," I replied.
Michael sat next to me and we waited.
Finally, after two hours, Luke and Helen woke up from their deep sleep.
Helen was the first one up.
She squinted at the sunlight that was coming in from the windows.
She pushed herself off Luke's butt and furrowed her eyebrows when she realized what her head used to be against.
Michael started giggling uncontrollably.
"How the hell did you guys get in here?" She croaked.
"Well Hello to you too," Ashton said.
"Your Mum let us in," I replied.
Luke groaned as he slowly opened his eyes.
"What time is it?" He asked.
"Do neither of you know how to say Hello?" Ashton asked.
"It's at four," Michael told Luke.
"Holy shit, Luke. We've been asleep for almost ten hours," Helen said.
"It's not enough," Luke said and dug his face into a pillow.
Helen got up from the couch and stretched.
"Luke, we are never going to do another all nighter, ever again," She said.
"Agreed," Luke muffled from his pillow.
"Ugh," She said. "I'm going to my room."
She shuffled her feet towards the staircase and went up.
"So what now?" Ashton asked.
"I dunno. We didn't plan this out," Michael replied.
Luke turned from his pillow and looked at us. His blue eyes hazy.
"What are you guys doing here?" He asked.
"You didn't answer your phone so we decided to check on you," I replied.
"Well, I am good," He said and sat up.
"I'm going to go with Helen," I said and stood up before going up the stairs.
When I reached the top I went to Helen's door and opened it.
She was laying in bed, on her stomach. Her hair was in her face.
I sat next to her and pushed her hair out of the way.
She had her eyes closed but they suddenly fluttered open. I never got tired of staring into those beautiful blue eyes.
"What's wrong beautiful?" I asked.
"Nothing," She replied with monotone.
"I know something is bugging you. Just tell me, I won't judge."
"I don't know. I just have this feeling something good and bad is about to happen."
I wrapped my arms around her and pulled her into my embrace.
She didn't resist and buried her head in the crook of my neck.
"Regardless what happens, whether good or bad, what matters is that we're together, right?" I asked.
I felt her kiss my neck and with that, I knew I got my answer.
