74. Chapter 80 : 4 Australians, New Land

Helen's POV

I woke up and realized the spot next to me was empty.

I sat up and looked around.

"Morning," I heard Calum say.

I turned my head and he was leaning against the bathroom threshold.

He was putting his shirt on.

"Morning," I said.

He smiled and I fell back onto my bed and pulled the sheets over me.

"What time is it?" I asked.

"11," Calum replied.

"Are you hungry?" I asked.

"Yes, I am. You should know that, babe."

I smirked, "True."

I pushed myself off the bed and walked past him, into the bathroom.

I washed my face with cold water and brushed my teeth.

Calum walked up behind me and wrapped his arms around my waist.

He rested his chin on my head.

I looked at him in the mirror.

"What?" He asked.

I smiled then looked down.

"Don't give me that cheeky smile, what is it?" He asked.

I shook my head and continued to smile at the ground.

I loosened myself from his grasp and went back into my bedroom.

I walked to my closet and pulled out a shirt that had The 1975 logo on it.

"What's your favorite song by them?" Calum asked and pointed to my shirt.

"I have a lot of favorite songs by them. Sex, Chocolate, Heart Out, and Girls are my top picks, but Robbers is my ultimate favorite song by them."

He nodded.

"Okay, I have to shower," I said grabbing a towel from my closet.

"Do I wait here?" Calum asked.

"No, you go back to your room. And lock the door behind you, don't want anyone to walk in on me changing."

He raised an eyebrow and smirked.

After he left I went back into the bathroom, stripped myself of my clothes and got into the shower.

I took a little longer because I had to shave my legs.

Gotta have those smooth legs, amirite ladies?

After washing off the conditioner and scrubbing my entire body twice, I shut off the water and got out.

I dried myself off, slipped on my under garments, then went back into my room to finish getting dressed.

I pulled my shirt on and slipped on my black ripped skinny jeans.

After putting my Converse on, I brushed the knots out of my hair and blow dried it until it was damp.

I slipped my phone into my back pocket and walked down the stairs.

"Hey Billie," I said and patted his head.

I gave him his Ceaser (dog food) in a plate and he munched it down.

I heard footsteps coming down the staircase.

A few seconds later Calum walked in, looking fresh and ready.

"I can see you showered too," I said.

"Yea, I feel great," He replied.

"What do you want for breakfast?" I asked. "Make it a light breakfast."

"Why?" He asked.

"Well we are going to be passing a lot of food places. Ya know, they'll have candy, doughnuts, ice cream, hot dogs, all that good American stuff."

"How about eggs?" Calum asked.

"Sure. Two?" I asked.

He nodded, "yes, please."

While I made breakfast, Calum was talking to me about random things or taking selfies with Billie Joe.

"Billie joe is practically yours," I laughed.

"How can you not love this face," Calum said and supped Billie's face.

"Aww two puppies together," I said.

"What? You make Calum breakfast but not us?" Michael asked.

"Well you're not awake," I replied.

"Early bird gets the worm," Calum winked.

"Oh don't rub it in, mate," Michael grumbled.

I laughed, "How many eggs would you like Michael?"

"Three please," Michael responded.

I grabbed a plate and tossed the two cooked eggs on the plate and I gave it to Calum.

"Thank you darling," Calum said.

I cracked three eggs and poured them on the already hot pan.

"I could hear the sizzle from upstairs," Ashton said walking into the kitchen.

"What's cooking?" Luke asked joining the group.

"Eggs," Calum replied and ate his breakfast.

"Can I get mine scrambled," Luke said.

"Yea, mine too, please," Ashton said.

I nodded.

"Toast right?" I asked Luke.

He nodded and I popped two bread slices in the toaster.

8 minutes later We were all eating our food.

"Okay were would you guys like to go first?" I asked.

"I want to walk the Hollywood Boulevard," Michael said.

"That place where Justin Bieber filmed his video 'Baby.' I don't know what the place is called," Luke said.

"It's called Citywalk, Luke," I replied.

"Yea, that place."

"I don't know, just Hollywood in general," Ashton said.

"What's the most dangerous place here?" Calum asked.

"Compton," I replied.

"Let's go there," Calum said.

"Yea, take a bat with you, maybe even write your will before we leave," I said.

"You know, I have my whole like ahead of me, let's just not go there, and  go somewhere else," Calum changed his mind.

I laughed.

"Shall we go?" I asked.

"Let's do it!" Ashton stood up.

"Okay, let me brush me teeth first though," I said and got up and rushed up the stairs.

I went into my bathroom and brushed my teeth quickly.

I walked back into my room and I felt Calum press his lips against mine.

"Ready?" He asked against me.

"Yea," I replied and pulled away.

"Get a room," Michael yelled from the hallway.

"We're in one," Calum shouted back.

I laughed and Calum intertwined our fingers together.

We walked down the stairs.

I grabbed my keys off the counter and went into the garage.

"have you ever tried a Slurpee?" I asked once we were all in my car and waited for the garage door to open.

"Nope," Calum replied.

"Seriously?" I asked.

"Dead serious," Luke added.

"We are getting one right fucking now!" I exclaimed.

"Should I be scared?" Ashton asked.

"No," I replied.

"Okay, Helen, will you drive slower this time? I don't want to die in a car accident," Luke said.

I huffed, "I know, I was just pissed off yesterday."

I slowly drove out of the garage and the door closed behind me.

I got off the driveway and onto the road and pressed my foot on the gas pedal.

Luke turned up the volume on the radio.

"Most requested song of the day is 'Favorite Record' by Fall Out Boy," The radio host said.

The familiar beat of the song blared through the car's speakers.

"This is my shit!" I shouted

I waited until Patrick started to sing.

I sang along in perfect sync until we arrived at 7-Eleven and parked.

I got out.

"Let's go," I said.

We all walked into the store and I went to the back where the Slurpee machines where.

I grabbed a large cup and filled it with Cherry flavored cold fluff.

I put the lid on top and filled it even more.

"What flavor are you going to get?" I asked the guys.

"I don't know, what did you get?" Luke asked.

"Cherry," I replied.

"Let me try it," He said.

I handed him my cup and he took a sip.

"It's okay, I'll probably get blueberry," He said and grabbed a cup.

"You want to try it?" I asked Calum.

"Why not?" He replied and tried the Slurpee.

he nodded, "It's good, I'm getting that."

Ashton and Michael also ended up trying my Slurpee.

Michael got blueberry and Ashton got cherry.

We all got large cup.

I filled mine again then Joined the guys by the refrigerators.

"Can we get a Corona?" Ashton asked.

There a cop next to us and he raised an eyebrow at us.

I spoke quickly, "Please excuse my friends, they haven't been in America, so they don't know. They're from Australia, so they're legal to drink over there. Sorry."

"Mhm," he said and walked off.

I sighed in relief, "Ash, this isn't Australia, so sadly, you have to be 21 to buy and drink beer."

"Dad has a bar back home, we can grab some beer from there," I whispered.

Ashton nodded.

"Ready?" I asked.

"Yea," Calum said before grabbing a tube of Pringles.

Michael grabbed a bag of Sour Brite Gummy Worms, Ashton got Doritos, and Luke got a bag of Cheetos Puffs.

"Oh those are so good," I said pointing to Luke's bag of Puffs.

We went to the counter and I paid for all the stuff.

The guy behind the counter gave me my change back, we grabbed our snacks once more and were our the doors.

We climbed back into my car.

"Okay, we're going to Hollywood Boulevard first, then Citywalk, then Griffin's Observatory," I said as I backed out of the parking space and onto the busy streets.

"Cool," Ashton said.

I rolled down the windows and let the cool air in.

"It's so hot," Michael complained.

"I thought you'd be used to it? It is pretty hot in Australia," I said.

"Yea, but it's not this hot," Michael said.

"How many degrees is it?" Luke asked from the backseat.

I quickly looked at the temperature and back to the road.

"It's 100 degrees," I replied.

Michael grunted.

After being stuck in traffic for about 15 minutes I got off the highway and down a ramp.

We cruised down the streets, stopped at a few red lights, the guys took occasional pictures.

Finally after a while of driving I got a parking space in a alley.

"Okay, let's get out and walk!" I exclaimed and opened the car door.

I  stepped out of the car and grabbed my keys and phone.

I slipped my phone in my back pockets and put my keys on my front pocket.

The guys got out and stretched.

"Your car has no leg space, Helen," Luke said and shook  his legs out.

"Sorry, my car isn't meant for 6 foot tall boys with 5 foot long legs," I apologized.

"Very funny," Calum mumbled.

We started walking down the street full of people.

"Find em and meet em! Maps to stars! From Vin Diesel to Selena Gomez!" A man shouted.

"Oh lets get one!" Luke said.

"We have a better chance of bumping into a celebrity on here than stalking them in their homes," I stopped him.

"Look Michael Jackson's star," Michael exclaimed and took a picture.

He also snapped a picture of the star-filled sidewalk.

We saw the stars of all type of celebrities from Walt Disney, Mickey Mouse, Kiss, Robin Williams, The Jackson 5, John Lennon along with The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Ozzy Osborne, Marilyn Monroe, Bob Marley, The Supremes, Queen and lots more.

"This is amazing," Ashton said.

"It really is," I agreed and chucked my empty Slurpee cup in the trash.

"It's like a memory of all the celebrities from the past to the present, its insane," Ashton continued.

"Yea," I said.

We reached the end.

"The Walk of Fame is 1.3 miles long and we just walked the whole thing. How do you feel?" I asked the guys.

"It was cool, but tiring," Michael said.

"True," Calum said. "I took so many pictures."

"Same here," Luke added.

"I think we all took a lot of pictures," Ashton said.

"Are you hungry?" I asked.

"Yea starving," Luke replied.

"Lets go get something to eat," I said. "Which means walking back to the car."

"Another mile?" Michael mumbled.

"Yes Michael sadly, another mile," I said and patted his back.

We turned around and started our journey back to my car.

I felt Calum intertwine his fingers with mine.

I looked at him and he gave me his cheeky smile.

I laughed.

30 minutes later we were back in the car.

I was sweaty from being in the blazing sun in an all black outfit.

No regrets.

"It's so hot," Michael groaned.

We agreed and I started the engine and drove out of the alley.

"Okay we are getting food at Citywalk!" I exclaimed.

"Finally!" Luke beamed.

"Isn't it right by Universal?" Ashton asked.

"yea, but I don't have money to go to the park right now, maybe tomorrow," I replied.

"Cool," Ashton said.

It took us and hour to get to Universal City and get a parking space.

"Man, why is it so packed?" Calum asked.

"It's a very famous spot Calum, what do you want it to be? Empty? It's always crowded" I replied.

We got out and started towards the busy entrance.

"Look there's the gorilla!" Luke said and pointed to the huge blue gorilla.

"Look at that guitar!" Michael exclaimed and pointed to the guitar at the end of the walkway.

"That's bad ass," Ashton said and snapped a picture of the two things.

"Where's the food?" Calum asked.

"I'm with you on this one Calum," I replied and grabbed his hand and started pulling him to a set of stairs.

We started going up the staircase.

I heard the guys behind us.

"I love this place!" Luke said.

We walked into a hotdog place and ordered our food.

After getting our food we went outside and sat at one of the tables by the ledge.

"This looks so good," Ashton said.

We all sank our teeth into the meat and bread.

On the huge screen above the ground, there were music videos playing.

Currently it was 'Radioactive' by Imagine Dragons.

I heard Michael moan as he chewed.

I dipped my fries in the ketchup and ate them.

Luke looked over the railing, down at the people milling around.

They all took a picture of the view from the top.

I took a picture of them taking a picture.

I laughed at the picture.

"What's so funny?" Calum asked.

I shook my head and continued to laugh.

The next two hours at Citywalk were a blast.

We bought candy, a few stuffed animals, and random shit.

It was great.

Calum was looking for his name on one of the key chains.

"Calum, babe, I don't think you're going to find your name on those," I said.

He looked so broken hearted.

"I know," he said.

"I found mine!" Luke exclaimed from another rack.

"I did too!" Michael said.

"I'm getting this shot glass and the tiny license plate," Ashton called out.

Calum looked even more sad.

I sighed and tried to look for his key chain.

After minutes of searching I found one.

"Hey Calum look!" I said.

"You found one?" Calum beamed and came towards me.

"Close. I found one that says Cal. Will that work?" I asked holding up the key chain.

His eyes widened and took the chain, "Yes! Babe you're the best!" He said and kissed my cheek.

That smile he has on right now is what makes all of this worth it.

I'm so deep into this boy's love.

I smiled at him.

I bought them their key chains, a shirt each ans even more candy.

"Ready to go?" I asked.

"Where to next?" Michael asked.

"Huntington Beach," I replied.

"Oh I heard of that beach, it had that bridge," Michael said.

"Yea, it's my favorite beaches," I said.

Calum giggled.

"What's so funny?" I asked him.

"It hears like you are saying 'It's my favorite bitches'' He laughed

"Yea, you are my favorite bitches," I said and laughed.

"Alright you two, let's just go," Luke said.

We went back to the car and put our stuff in the trunk.

I drove to Huntington Beach and got a parking space.

I got out.

"Yes," I said and stretched.

The sand was stretched before us and the ocean was never ending.

The waves slowly crashed onto each other and drifted to the shoreline.

The wind was a little cooler by the ocean.

"This is absolutely beautiful," Ashton said.

"Take a picture of me and Helen," Calum said and handed his phone to Luke.

Calum grabbed my hand and pulled me to his side.

The sand and ocean was behind us.

I wrapped my arm around Calum's waist and he did the same to me.

"1..2..." Luke said.

I smiled.

"3," Luke took three pictures.

"Send those to me," I told Calum.

He nodded.

"Me and Luke next," I said.

Luke and I got some photos taken of us on both our phones.

We all got pictures of each other, as a group, pair and threesome. We had a  few people take our pictures but that's it.

"Let's go!" I said and ran onto the sand.

I took my Converse off halfway and dropped them on the sand.

"Grab my shoes! Please," I said over my shoulder.

I ran towards the pier.

The sand was hot under my bare feet.

The wind whipped through my hair and hit me in the face.

It felt good.

Once under the shade of the pier I collapsed on the sand.

I decided to end the chapter here because it was way too long! I'll work on the other half now and probbaly publish it later tonight. Love ya'll :-) xx -HelenHood
