*BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP*
I lifted my head off the pillow and squinted, trying to avoid the light from making direct contact to my eyes.
My phone alarm was blaring that annoying noise. I groaned.
I reached over and hit the snooze and rubbed my eyes. Ugh, waking up early was the worst part of school.
Halfway through the dreaded week, it's currently Wednesday, and next week we'll be off for winter break.
Three weeks off!
That thought brightened me up a little bit and I sat up. I crawled out of bed, literally, I didn't feel like walking. I finally reached my door and got out.
I shuffled to Luke's door and opened it, he was curled into a fetal position and was covered in his blankets. I could hear him lightly snoring.
"Luke," I said.
"Hmm?" He asked.
"Luke get up," I said.
"I'd gladly skip school and just sleep, but we have a final for English."
He turned towards me.
"Get up," I repeated and left his room.
I closed the my door behind me and went to my closet. I quickly looked out the window, looks like it will be sunny all day. I decided on a Sleeping With Sirens shirt, my usual black ripped skinny jeans and black Vans.
I went into my bathroom, brushed my teeth, washed my face and combed my hair. I then put my hair in a high ponytail.
I slipped my phone into my back pocket and grabbed my backpack before walking down the stairs.
My mom was standing in the kitchen.
"Morning, Mom, why are you up so early?" I asked.
"They called me in for a meeting, said they have news for us," She replied.
"Oh, well good luck, I think," I said and frowned.
Luke bounded down the stairs.
"Good morning, Mum, why are you up?" He asked.
"I asked the same thing," I said.
"Great minds think alike," Mom said.
"That is very true," I said.
"We must be related," Luke joked.
"Only by blood," I put it.
Luke snapped and pointed a finger gun at me. I did the same.
We both quickly ate our breakfast and were out the door.
It was a slow ride to the school full of utter silence.
"Do you guys have any parties here for New Years?" I asked.
"Yea we have a few crazy parties, me and the guys get invited to them every year. We go but leave after a while," Luke replied.
"Really? I used to always go to New Years parties! Except for last year. I stayed home with Adin and a few of my friends, we got drunk. Then somehow a lot of people ended up going to my house and it turned to a huge party," I said.
"Did Dad find out? Where was he?" Luke asked.
"He was in Malibu," I replied.
"Oh," Was all Luke said.
We arrived at the school and Luke got a parking space. We both got out and went to our class. Luke and I got there just in time.
We went to our seats and were ready to start the long day.
"Hey, beautiful," Calum said.
"Hi, Cal," I replied.
"What's up, mate?" Calum asked Luke.
"Nothing, why?" Luke asked.
"You look bored," Michael said.
"Just tired," Luke replied.
"We all are," Ashton said.
"Good morning class," Ms. Dawn said.
The whole class muttered a 'good morning.'
"We have our final today, so I want you to try your best. This test makes up 36 percent of your final grade in this class," Ms. Dawn explained.
"The period is 48 minutes long, so you will have time to complete it," Ms. Dawn continued and began passing out the tests and scantrons.
I got the test and it was 60 questions long. I groaned.
"Fuck, I'm probably going to fail," I mumbled.
"Same here," Luke said.
"Yepp, I'm not passing this test," Calum agreed.
"So negative," Ashton said.
Ms. Dawn gave us a nasty look and we began our tests.
"I think I did pretty good on Ms. Dawn's test," Michael said with a smile.
"It was easy," I agreed.
"I think I got screwed over on the timed writing essay," Luke said.
"That essay prompt didn't even make sense," Calum said.
"I think it was easy," Ashton said.
"Only our grade can tell," I muttered.
We were sitting at our lunch table, enjoying our food.
"What's our final for gym?" I asked.
"I think you run the mile," Michael replied.
Luke, Ashton, and Calum groaned.
"It's not that bad," I said. "I used to run the mile all the time back in California."
"That's because you're in track, you do the mile for fun," Luke said.
"We don't do it for fun," I defended.
"Whoa, whoa, hold it, we got company," Michael said.
"What?" Calum asked.
I looked up and a tall muscular guy was walking towards us, he had his arm around a girl's shoulders.
"Hey Luke, Ashton, Michael, and Calum, and Helen," the guy said. He had a deep voice and a very thick British accent. He must have moved from England.
"Hi, Cade, what's up?" Luke asked.
The girl spoke up, "So, listen, you five are a very popular group, always have been. So we want to invite you to our New Years party! Here is the invitation," She handed me a black envelope, "All the information is there. There is no theme so no dress code is required. Hope to see you guys there." She smiled and they both walked off.
"I'm sorry did she just say we're popular," Ashton said.
"I guess, didn't know we were," Luke said.
"I hate attention," Calum mumbled.
I smirked at him, "Yet you always want mine."
I opened the envelope and pulled out a thick paperback card.

"Maybe we should go, we gotta show Helen how Australians party," Luke said.
"I'm not going to end up with hangover, right?" I asked.
