I stood outside my house clutching a bouquet of roses.
"You ready?" Luke asked me.
"Uh, not really," I said.
"Well you got yourself in this mess now you gotta tell Mum," Luke said.
"Technically I didn't get myself in this mess," I said.
"Technically you did," Luke replied.
He pushed me towards the door. Fuck.
"Don't worry Helen, you'll be okay," Calum said.
"No, I won't," I reply.
Luke opened the door and stepped inside.
"Mum?" Luke called out.
"Luke?" My mom asked, she came from the kitchen holding a small rag. "What are you kids doing home so early?"
"About that," Luke said, "Helen wants to tell you something." He pushed me forward.
"I got you these roses mom!" I said.
She took them from my hands, "They are beautiful, thank you Helen."
"You're welcome, and hopefully you will still love me after I tell you why we are home early."
"What happened?" Mom asked.
"Well, Rebecca Green, was making me angry, so she slapped me, Luke stepped in and she then slapped Luke, so I got mad, she punched me and I got into a fight with her." I said quickly.
"You what?!" My mom exploded.
"She nearly knocked Rebecca's ass out," Michael said.
"Not helping," I muttered to Michael.
"But, yea," I said.
My mom was silent. I bit my lip and looked up at Luke. He shrugged.
"Mom, please say something," I begged desperately.
My mom cleared her throat , "Well, I don't know what to say. I didn't know you where much of a fighter. You got into trouble on the first week, the first week of being here in Sydney, Helen," She rubbed her temples. "How many weeks of suspension?"
"One week," I reply.
"I got three days," Luke said.
"And why did you get suspension?" Mom asked Luke, eyebrow raised.
Luke scratched the back of his head, "I, uh, I tore Helen away from Rebecca."
"humph," Mom mumbled.
"Sorry I can't be the prefect daughter," I apologized.
"You don't have to be perfect. I'm just surprised your father could handle you."
"I'm surprised he handled me too, but I guess the California Life changed us both." I said.
"Okay, well Helen, I'm not sure whether to ground you or not."
"Please don't," I said.
"Just please, go to your room, Helen."
I pursed my lips, "Okay. Bye guys, see you guys later, or next week." I bounded up the stairs and closed the door behind me. I plopped down on my bed and stared at the ceiling. My phone rang. I tapped the screen.
"Hello?" I asked.
"Helen!" Adin said.
"What's wrong?" I asked.
"Guess what Brad is spreading around the school?" He asked.
He laughed, "This is serious!"
"Okay, what is it?"
"He is telling the whole school that you guys are still dating and that you guys had sex before you left."
I sat up, "What? Are you fucking serious?"
"I'm dead serious."
I groaned, "Tell him he's lying. They'll believe you. Round up the girls, I can trust them and spread the word around that what he said is not true."
"Okay, I'll keep you updated. Call you later, Bye," Adin said.
"Bye, Adin," I said and hung up.
I put a pillow over my face and screamed. Why would Brad do that? What was he thinking? Did he really think I would not find out? I'm not stupid.
I slammed my head against the pillow and looked at the far wall. I stared at the plain colored wall for a while before stuffing my headphones in my ears. I ended up falling asleep to 'Head.Cars.Bending' by The 1975. A nap was a perfect was to relieve stress. And I had a lot of stress going on at the moment.
