I stumbled back but then quickly regained focus. I tackled Rebecca to the ground and began punching wildly.
"Bitch," I said in between punches.
"Fuck you!" Rebecca said and pulled my hair.
Seriously? Hair pulling?
She pulled her hand back and when her fist connected with my skull, pain exploded. My head throbbed. I put all of my force into my balled up fist, and I punched her square in the nose. She let out a piercing scream.
"Oh fuck!" I heard someone yell.
Rebecca punched my stomach and she knocked the wind out of me. I clutched my gut with my hand. The pain was ten times worse, now. But I wasn't about to give up and let her beat me. I didn't take self-defense and boxing classes for nothing. Before I could throw any more punches, I felt several hands on me. I was eventually pulled away from Rebecca. Blood dripped down from her nose, and she had plenty of scratches on her face. I wondered how bad I was.
Rebecca took the opportunity and got up and started running towards me. I quickly freed my right arm and swung my fist. I hit her cheek and she collapsed. I looked up from Rebecca and saw the principal walking towards me. And I could have sworn there was a flame in his eyes.
When Helen tackled Rebecca I stood there in complete and utter shock. Helen threw punches and was clearly dominating the fight. I didn't know Helen could fight, much less beat her opponent. Helen punched Rebecca square in the nose.
That scared, fragile girl that need protecting, isn't there anymore. Calum, Ashton, and Michael stood at my side.
"What the fuck?" Michael asked.
"Is that Helen?" Calum asked.
"Should we do something?" Ashton asked.
I snapped back to reality when I heard Helen grunt and clutch her stomach. I ran forwards and wrapped my arms around Helen's torso. The guys helped me by grabbing her arms. It took all four of us but we eventually pried her off Rebecca. I pulled her back a couple of feet.
Rebecca had gotten on her feet and was coming towards us, but before she could reach us, Helen's fist connected with Rebecca's cheek, and she collapsed.
I let go of Helen and she breathed heavily. I looked up from Rebecca to see Mr Richards, the principal coming towards us. his nostrils flaring in anger.
"What in the world?" he asked."Someone, please, get Miss Green to the hospital, quickly!"
"Oh, please, it' a broken nose, she'll survive," Helen said.
"And you," He looked up at Helen, "Miss Hemmings are coming with me."
"I'm coming too," I said.
"Yes, all five of you are," Mr Richards said.
We followed him to his office.
"Are you okay?" I asked Helen. She wiped some blood from her bottom lip.
"Yea, I'm good, but my head is throbbing like hell," She replied.
Mr Richards opened the door to his office and we stepped inside. Helen and I sat on the main chairs, while Calum, Michael, and Ashton sat on the office couch.
"You have been here for a week and you have already gotten in a fight," Mr Richards said sitting down on his chair and folded his hands in front of him.
"In my defense, she slapped Luke and I, AND she threw the first punch," Helen said.
"It's true, I saw," I defended.
"Where did you learn to fight like that? You almost knocked Miss Green out."
"Uh, back in California, I uh, I used to be bullied," Helen said looking down.
She was bullied?
"In 8th grade, I got in a fight, the girl beat me bad, I mean really bad. I got a black eye, busted lip, cut on my head, and a bruised cheek. My dad got scared, so he had me enrolled in self-defense classes, after that I took boxing. he didn't want me to get hurt, he wanted me to defend myself against anyone."
Dad put her in boxing classes? Wow.
"I understand. But we cant have you getting into another fight with a student. So I forbid you from starting a fight with another student, If you do, you will be expelled."
"Fine," Helen sighed.
"Now, you get one week suspension, starting on Monday."
Helen threw her head back, "Fuck."
"And for you Mr Hemmings, Clifford, Irwin, and Mr Hood, you four get three days suspension, for getting involved in the fight, and that too will start on Monday."
"What?!" Helen shot up from her seat. "That's bullshit!"
I got up from my seat and pushed Helen towards the door, "Let's just go."
"NO! It's stupid! It's not their fault I got in a fight, why give them suspension?!" Helen screamed. I shoved her out the door and Michael closed it behind him.
"It's okay, Helen, I don't like school anyway," Michael said. She ignored him and started banging on the office door and screaming cuss words. Everyone started staring. I picked her up and threw her over my shoulder.
"What the fuck are you looking at?!" Helen screamed.
I opened the doors to the parking lot and put Helen down once the doors closed. I grabbed her by the shoulders and shook her.
"Helen! What is wrong with you? Calm down!" I yelled.
"I don't know!" She yelled back.
"Hey, easy there, Hemmings, the last thing I want is for you two to get into a fight," Ashton said.
"You okay Helen?" Calum asked.
"Yea, I'm good, now." She replied.
"Let's go home, then," I said.
"Fine, but first, take me to the store, I have to get our mom some roses, maybe that will make her less angry. Because she'll probably kill me after she found out I got suspended."
