"You're 15 minutes late," I said. "You texted me to meet you here on time yet you're the one who's late."
"Sorry! Mr Peterson held me back a bit," He said.
"Should've known, I'm not even surprised," I said.
"Rude," He said, faking his hurt. "Now come on."
We both entered his car and fastened our seat belts. Or at least I did, he only fastened them because I was being annoying.
"Why do you even care so much about me, darling?" He asked, as the corner of his lips lifted up to form a smirk.
"I, I don't care. And stop calling me darling!" I said.
"Whatever you say, darling." This time I didn't stop him, he was annoying me too much.
When we reached the Clark's residence, everything was just as it was when I first came here years ago. His house's cute, not too big and not too small, just your regular town house really. His garden was full of pretty flowers of different types planted by his mother.
When we entered the house, it smelt of a home cooked meal, like the meals that your mother would make.
"Ryder, is that you?" I heard a familiar voice say, and there was no doubt that it was Vera Clark, Ryder's mother.
"Yeah, mom!" Ryder said loud enough for her to hear, wherever she was.
"I made lots of food for you and your tu-," She wasn't able to finish her sentence as she stepped into the hall that Ryder and I were in. "Aleisha! It's been so long!" She smiled and walked over to me, opening her arms for a hug.
"It's great to see you, Mrs Clark," I smiled.
"Where have you been all this time? I haven't seen you in a year or maybe more." She said as we both pulled away.
"Uh... Mom we're not exactly together anymore," Ryder said rather awkwardly as he rubbed the back of his neck.
Yes. I, Aleisha Knight used to date Ryder Clark. We broke up over a year ago, things were just going down hill and it was for the best. But ever since then, Ryder became a self-centred prick and frankly the school's female heart throb.
"You delinquent!" Mrs Clark said to Ryder and smacked his chest, making me let out a light chuckle. "Why'd you let go of a wonderful young lady?"
By now Ryder's cheeks were on fire, they were as read as a tomato! For a 'bad boy', he's such a mama's boy.
"Mom we're going to study right now," He said quickly before heading towards the staircase, leaving me with his mom.
"I'm gonna go up now, Mrs Clark," I smiled.
"Oh, please, Aleisha. It's Vera!" She said. "I know I'm old, but I'm not that old."
When I entered Ryder's bedroom, nothing much has actually changed besides the fact that he had more posters of bands I barely knew. And for a guy, he was tidy. No clothes lying on the floor, no beer bottles, his desk was clean; probably because his mother has OCD, so he keeps his mess at a minimum or else his mother would probably go crazy and skin him alive.
Ryder was on his bed, eyes focused on his phone as his thumbs type out some words.
"Should we get started?" I asked.
He let out a heavy sigh, "Fine."
