As I entered my maths class, I was quite surprised to see Ryder Clark already in his seat, and some others were probably as surprised as I was because he either doesn't come to class, or he's a half an hour later.
Mrs Higgins, our maths teacher came in and she greeted us with her signature 'good morning class' sentence before placing her stuff onto the teacher's table. When she finally turned her focus to us, her eyes widened a little. I'm guessing she noticed Ryder was here and early.
"Well, look who decided to show up early today, Ryder Clark," She said.
"The one and only," Ryder said, smirking while he winked at her. He's disgusting.
Mrs Higgins rolled her eyes and took out her textbook, "Now, students, turn to page 196 and answer questions one, two and three."
A feeling of relief dashed over me when I realise that we were told to do only three questions. I flipped the pages to my book and went to page 196, and my feeling of relief instantly faded as I saw that there was like, 10 equations to be solved in each question.
Thanks a lot, Mrs H.
I let out multiple sighs as I answered, (or at least tried to), the first few questions before the bell rang. I only managed to answer 4 of the equations. I honestly never found math hard, we just need tons of practice but I just really hated the topic we're on hence I don't quite give a bother.
"Okay, class. You're dismissed," Mrs Higgins said and the class erupted with 'thank god's and 'finally's, earning a glare from Mrs Higgins. "Miss Knight, can you stay awhile?" I nodded and went up to her desk after I've finished packing.
"What's the matter, Mrs Higgins?" I asked politely.
"Well, I want you to tutor someone," She said. "You're my top student, Aleisha."
Tutoring means giving up my afternoon hangouts with Kate. Kate's my best friend, by the way.
I guess I must've been quiet for too long when Mrs Higgins said, "It'll gain you some credits, which I thought you'd be interested in."
I do love me some extra credits.
"But, who exactly am I tutoring?" I asked.
"Ryder Clark." I literally choked on my saliva at the mention of his name, I even coughed as if I had choked on some food. Of course, it had to be me out of all people.
"Can't you get someone else to tutor him? He's Ryder, he won't listen to anyone. Let alone me," I said.
"Please, Aleisha. You're my top student. Just help him out," She said.
I let go a deep, deep sigh before saying, "I'll do it."
"Thank you so much, Aleisha." She said. "He won't be that bad. And you're now excused."
"So, you're telling me that you're going to tutor Ryder Clark?" Kate asked, even she couldn't believe it.
"Yup," I said before I took a bite of my sandwich.
"Well, good luck because here he comes now, bye!" She said and went away, and I instantly looked up, seeing the devil himself walk towards my lunch table.
"Hello there, Knight," Ryder said before he sat down in front of me with a smirk plastered upon his troll like face.
Okay, maybe he doesn't have the face of a troll. He's attractive, yeah, sure. Girls practically line up for him.
"What do you want, Clark?" I asked, keeping a stern expression.
"So, you're my tutor," He said. "Okay, let's cut to the crap; where are we gonna do this tutoring shit? Your place or mine?"
"You actually want to have me tutor you?" I rolled my eyes.
"Do I have a choice? Mrs Higgins called my parents about this tutoring shit." He said.
"You're such a mama's boy," I rolled my eyes. "But we can do it at your place. I don't mind."
"Alright, see you later darling," He said and gave me a wink before wandering off.
He makes me want to strangle him.
