‘Ding dong’ went the doorbell. I walked downstairs to answer the door. Hopefully it was Karlie and Miah, and thank god my parents had already left. I opened the door and saw that it wasn’t them, but it was Cameron. My eyes widened when I saw his standing at my front door, holding my phone in his hands. “Cameron, your early.” I said. “It’s only 6:00.” He said, walking through the door. “Exactly. Why did you come so early though?” I asked him, closing the front door. He walked into the living room and sat my phone on the coffee table. I followed him. “You wanna answer my question.” I said. Cameron turned around to face me. He got close to me, slowly slipped his hands around my waist, and kissed my cheek. I got goose bumps and smiled. “What are you doing.” I giggled. He went from my cheek, to my neck. I ran my fingers through his hair. He then start to peck my lips, passionately. I kissed him back, wrapping my arms around the back of his neck. He put his hands on my hips, leading me to the couch. He fell on the couch, with me on top of him. I released from the kiss. “Is this why you came over early?” I asked him. “Well, if you don’t want to then I could leave and come back at the right time.” He said. Cameron sounded serious, like he wanted to do things my way. “No, its fine. This is what I want.” I smiled. He smiled as well and continued to kiss me. I ran my hands up under his shirt, rubbing his chest. I had a feeling inside me that felt, dirty. I was like a straight ‘A’ student that sneaks off to do bad things when unnoticed. He laid down flat, still me on top. I started to unbutton his shirt, slowly. He had his hands rested on my legs. “Let’s see if you can survive round 2.” He said, laughing. I smiled and through my shirt across the room. It wasn’t long after we both had nothing on but our undergarments. I kissed him, running my hands up his chest. He flipped around to where I was on bottom. I got goose bumps as he ran his hand up my leg. He kissed my neck, then went down to my chest. I turned my head, facing the fireplace. There was a clock above it, I read the time. 6:55. “Damnit.” I panicked, pushing Cameron off of me. “What’s wrong?” he asked me, sitting up on the couch. “My friends will be here soon. Hurry up and get dressed, if they see you then… just, just get dressed!” I started to quickly throw my clothes on. Cameron got up off the couch, slowly. I could tell that he was kinda sad. He grabbed his pants and shirt. Ding dong, went the doorbell. I stopped what I was doing. “Who is it!” I hollered. “It’s us.” They answered. “Shit, upstairs. Go upstairs now.” Cameron quickly ran up to my room. Once I was descent, I went to the front door and opened it. “Hey.” “Hey Cass! What took you so long.” Said Karlie. “Oh, sorry. I had to put something upstairs real quick.” I then heard a thud. “What the hell was that?” asked Miah. They both started to walk upstairs, going to my room. “No, where are you guys going?” I asked following them. “We heard something and you know us white people, we curious as hell.” Karlie laughed. “Yes, you are very curious. And you wonder why white people always die first in horror movies. We nigga’s run.” Miah said, smiling. (BTW, I AM NOT BEING RACIST. SO SRY IF OFFENDED.) I felt nervous, what if they find Cameron in my room. “Um, how about you guys go downstairs and get some drinks. I gotta clean up the mess in my room.” “Nonsense, we brought some beer and coke. Anyways, there is no reason to feel ashamed about your messy room. We can get used to it.” Karlie said, looking back at me. As soon as they opened the door, I could hear my bathroom door shut close. “Holy shit, I think there is someone in your bathroom Cassidy.” Miah said, walking to it. My eyes widened as she tried to open the door. “Stop!” I yelled. Miah and Karlie both looked at me. “Excuse me?” she said, shoving her hands into her pockets. Miah only did that when she was disappointed or mad. Hopefully she wasn’t mad at me. “I’m sorry guys, but… ugh.” I said, facing the ground. “Miah, Karlie, there is something that I need to tell you guys.” I said, pointing to the patio. “How about yawl go wait outside.” They shook their heads and went to sit down on the deck. Miah and Karlie put the coke into the cooler that my parents bought for me. I knocked on the bathroom door. “Hey, it’s me. Let me in.” Cameron opened the door, slowly. “Is everything alright?” he asked me, closing the bathroom door. “Yes, I mean no, I mean… I don’t know. But I do know this, I can’t lie to my friends.” I was nervous, and had a good way of not hiding it. Cameron looked confused. “Huh?” he said, shrugging his shoulders. “What I think I am trying to say is, we need to tell Miah and Karlie about this. It kills me to lie to them and I just can’t take it anymore.” I said, freaking out. Cameron was trying to calm me down. “Hey, if you want to tell them then that is fine with me.” he said, kissing my forehead. I smiled. “Ok, thank you.” I hugged him. He hugged me back. “But, you can’t walk out there like that.” I pointed. He was only in his Haynes boxers. He laughed and pecked my lips. “C’mon, get dressed now. I wanna get through this thing fast.” I said, walking out the bathroom. I saw Karlie and Miah sitting on the deck, drinking some beers. “Girl, what is wrong with Cass?” Miah asked. “I don’t know, but it seems as if her attitude has changed.” Karlie answered, sipping on a beer. Miah was scrolling through her phone, drinking a beer through a straw. “You know, I just wish Matthew would call me back. He has not texted me in over a week now.” Miah said, getting frustrated. Karlie sat there, still sipping her beer. “What it sounds like to me is that maybe he wants some space, or some time alone. That is what me and Shawn did, and now we are still talking.” She said. Miah looked at her, with a doubt look on her face. “And how constantly do you two talk.” Miah asked. Karlie thought for a second. “About every other day. But hey, that is better than not talking at all.” She said, putting the beer bottle on the table. “So, what do you think Cassidy is going to show us?” Miah asked. She put her phone back in her pocket and looked inside. There I was, waiting outside of the bathroom door. “I don’t know.” She said, looking down. Miah and I have been best friends ever since after me and Cameron started being friends. We always had each other’s backs no matter what, and that was a great feeling to have. I saw Miah look at me, and she didn’t look happy. I frowned and stared at the floor. Miah turned back around and drank some more beer. “C’mon, how long does it take a boy to get dressed? You did it in like 2 seconds this morning.” I said to Cameron. He then walked out the door, stroking his fingers through his hair. “Really, you were doing your hair?” I said, smiling. “What, is it a crime that I want to look good?” he said sarcastically. I rolled my eyes and slowly headed towards Karlie and Miah. I could feel Cameron grab my hand and walk with me. I looked up at him and gave him a warm smile. “Miah, Karlie, this is my secret.” I said, standing in the door way of the deck. Their eyes widened when they saw Cameron holding my hand. “Wait, so you and Cameron are… together?” Karlie asked. I looked at Cameron, he looked at me. “Yeah, we are.” He said, smiling. I smiled back. “Aww, I am so happy for you two!” Miah said. “Thank you guys. I just thought that you would… you know.” “What? Judge you because you are a nobody and he is popular?” Karlie said. She was a blonde, so I can’t really punch her in the face. “What I believe Karlie is trying to say, is that we wouldn’t ever judge you.” Miah said, handing me a beer. I smiled and hugged them. “Thank you so much guys. I was worried that you would hate me or something.” “Why would we hate you?” Karlie asked. I shook my head. “No reason. So, shall we get this party started.” I said, handing Cameron a beer. I sat down in one of the seats, Cameron did the same. We all drank some of the beer and waited for the fireworks to start. “So, how did this whole relationship thing start?” Miah said, putting her drink down. “Oh, well we started this… last night I guess.” Cameron said, taking another sip of the Cool Light beer. “Last night? That is too damn early girl, and you are sleeping together as well?” she asked. “Well, we apparently did. That is what he told me, but I doubt it.” I said, smiling and sipping on the beer. “Oh really now.” He said, standing up. “If we never did have sex last night then why were you in my bed, in my shirt, with nothing else on?” I laughed, trying not to choke. “Hold up, that was a little TOO much info.” Miah said. “No it’s not. Please continue.” Karlie said, resting her head on her arm. Cameron laughed. I did as well. BOOM! I jumped when the bright colors exploded in the sky. “Holy shit that scared me.” I said, putting my hand across my chest. “Yeah, we could tell by your face.” Cameron said. I looked at him, surprised. I put down my beer. “Ok, do you want to get beat up? Cause I can help you with that.” I said standing up. “Oh honey, I don’t want you to get hurt.” I could tell that he was teasing me, and it was working. I grabbed his hand and pulled him up. “Get your ass up, c’mon you big baby.” I joked. He put his beer down and got up out of his chair. “C’mon now Cass, don’t make me fight you. You are too fragile.” He still joked. I took off my shoes and put my hair up in a bun. Miah and Karlie laughed, grabbed two more beers, and got closer to watch Cameron and I fight. “C’mon, don’t be a pussy.” I joked on him. He then picked me up by my legs and threw me over his shoulders. I screamed and laughed at the same time. “What am I now?” he said. “I believe you said that I am a pussy? Is that right?” “No, I was just joking.” I said, punching his back. He laughed and put me down. I fixed my shirt, because it was practically all the way up. I could hear Miah and Karlie laughing in the background. I then tackled Cameron and luckily landed on a beanbag chair. “OH! SHE TOLD YOU!” Karlie shouted. I laughed, so did he. I remember, we haven’t had this much fun ever since we were still little kids. More fireworks went off and the light reflected off of his eyes. They sparkled, and they were beautiful. He sat up and kissed me. I kissed him back. Once I released from the kiss, I got up and went to my seat. “Damn Cass, I never knew that you could tackle like a dude.” Cameron said, getting up as well. “Well what can I say, it’s in my blood.” I laughed. I grabbed my beer and continued to drink it. In the corner of my eye, I saw Cameron looking at me. “What?” I asked. “Oh nothing, it’s just that I can’t wait to… never mind.” Miah and Karlie were staring at the sky, admiring the fireworks. “They’re so pretty.” Karlie said. “Yeah, they are.” Said Miah. I looked at Cameron, he looked at me. He took my hand and kissed it. I couldn’t believe it, I was dating my 1st grade crush. Thank you God, thank you for helping me with that problem.
