"You're getting that one?" I asked, my eyebrows raised as I looked at my phone screen, the picture of the tattoo Audrey was getting stared back at me.
"Yep, I saw it a while ago and instantly wanted it." Audrey smiled up at me and passed the phone to Charlie.
"Looks good, lets do it." Charlie agreed with her and let her lay down on the chair.
"You're going to have to take off your shirt you know." I told her, this time raising one eyebrow.
"Oh, yeah." She blushed and tugged her shirt over her head.
I couldn't keep my eyes off of her. She had a beautiful body, even if there were bruises covering the whole left side of her ribs. I stared at her plain, silver belly button piercing, and let my eyes travel up her stomach to her chest, where I noticed that she was wearing a light blue and black push up bra that was really lacey. It was the one Calum picked out, I only said yes because I was going to be the one to see it.
"What side is it going to be on?" Charlie came back, not even shooting a glance at Audrey.
"Right side." She replied, passing me her shirt.
I set it on my lap, along with my sweater. I watched as Charlie turned around and sat on his chair, his eyes scanning her body, going over her chest mostly. I rolled my eyes and refrained a groan as she laid down on the leather chair, goosebumps forming all over her stomach.
"Charlie! Eyes off!" I snapped at him as he continued to stare.
He mumbled an apology before grabbing the machine and a needle.
"Are you nervous?" I asked Audrey, watching as she stared at the ceiling.
"A little." She admitted, a small smile on her face.
I grabbed her hand and held it in mine, hoping to comfort her.
I watched her face as Charlie started on her tattoo. She closed her eyes and scrunched up her face. I chuckled quietly at how funny she looked before watching Charlie. He was biting his lip as he concentrated on not fucking up her tattoo. I knew it was her first too, so I'm quite surprised she'd go for something that big, and on her side. It definitely hurt more than the one on my arm. Hell, I barely felt mine.
Charlie occasionaly dabbed away at the blood and ink on her skin, but he did a pretty good job at not fucking it up. He was just shading the few flowers that she had.
She got a tattoo of six roses, two of them big, two others small, and the last two were just ready to bloom. They're all connected by cool swirly lines.
"Alright, we're done here. I'm just going to wrap it up now, so I'm going to need you to sit up slowly and carefully while I grab the bandage." Charlie announced before turning around to grab the bandages and other stuff.
"Let me help." I grabbed her hands and helped her sit up straight. Charlie wrapped the bandages around her side, so they covered all of the tattoo that started by her hip bone, and ended just under her bra line. It was on her right side and was all black.
She did as told and I slipped her shirt over her body. I handed Charlie sixty dollars and left with Audrey. It only took us another hour and forty minutes to get her tattoo done, and Audrey seemed tired.
Once we were back in the truck, I asked her if she'd like any coffee.
"You want any Tim Hortons or Starbucks?"
"Tim Hortons would be great please." She said, her eyes closed and her head leaned against the window of the truck.
I nodded even though she couldn't see me, and drove out of the parking lot. I drove down the block and pulled into the Tim Hortons drive thru.
"What would you like?" I asked Audrey as I pulled up to the ordering machine.
"Large french vanilla with one quarter coffee." She replied, still keeping her eyes closed.
"Can I get a large french vanilla with a quarter coffee and an extra large ice cap." I ordered and waited for the guy to tell me my total.
"Is that everything?" He asked, his voice full of boredom.
"That'll be $3.45." He replied in a monotone.
I didn't answer, instead I pulled ahead and up to the window, seeing as the drive thru was empty.
I handed the guy the money and took the two coffees from him before pulling away. I set the drinks in the cup holders and pulled out onto the highway, heading out of town.
Audrey reached over and turned on the radio, Kurt Cobain's voice filling our ears. Stay Away was just ending, and soon enough, Creep by Stone Temple Pilots came on.
Twenty minutes into the drive, my phone rang. I pulled it out of my pocket and answered without checking the caller ID.
"I have an idea!"
"And what's that?"
"Calum! Hurry up!" A girls voice cried in the background.
"Seems that you're busy, so just wait till I get back, it'll only be another hour." I sighed and hung up the phone.
Knowing I'd have to go back home to Calum and some girl having loud sex wasn't very appealing.
I looked over at Audrey to see her head resting on her hand and her eyes closed. She looked exhausted. I don't blame her. Getting beaten first thing in the morning is very tiring. I also noticed she was shivering too. Goosebumps were showing on her wrist that wasn't covered by her sweat shirt.
Keeping one hand on the wheel, I unbuckled my seat belt and shrugged my sweater off, still keeping a hand on the wheel. I draped it over her shoulders and arms before turning my attention back to the road. I'm the only driving on this road, and it will probably stay like that till we get to the turn off, seeing as we're going into the trees, away from any other form of human life.
The sun was almost gone, leaving the sky a dark purple/blue colour and the clouds an octave lighter than the sky. We're heading away from the sun, driving into the darkness. It's times like this that I get lost in my own mind, I don't pay attention to the things around me, I'm too busy with my own thoughts.
Eventually, the sun was gone completely, coating us in darkness, except for the light coming from my headlights. I've been down this way so many times, you'd think the drive gets boring after a while, staring at the same thing everytime. But it's fascinating. Especially in the dark. Driving in the dark is my favourite. I love the silhouettes of the trees, and the stars. I've always liked the country more than the city. In the country, you can see the stars at night, but the city is too light polluted for that to happen.
Soon enough, I turned onto the road that was nearly hidden by trees, and drove down the crunchy gravel. This road only leads to our house, but it's really long.
After twenty-five minutes of driving down the road, I saw the opening in the trees and then the few lights on outside. I pulled onto the paved driveway and cut the ignition. Audrey stirred a bit, but didn't make any movements to get up.
I got out of the truck and walked around to her side. I knocked on the glass a few times, making her jump in surprise. She glared at me as I pointed to the house, mouthing 'lets go.'
Rolling her eyes, she opened the door and climbed out. I made my way to the front door, passing the outside fire place, and opened it. I let it close behind me and kicked off my shoes, pushing them to the side. The door opened behind me as I walked into the living room. I heard Audrey grumbling about disrespect as I crossed the living room and opened the glass door that lead to the kitchen.
Sitting at the counter, I waited for Audrey to follow me.
"Make us dinner." I demanded as soon as she entered the kitchen.
"Excuse me?" Her tone gave off the impression that she was annoyed.
Her arms were crossed and her eyebrow was raised, a frown on her face too.
"Did I fucking stutter?" My voice got a little louder as I also crossed my arms.
She rolled her eyes and returned her gaze to me.
"How about you get some damn manners." She turned around and walked out of the kitchen.
I got off of my seat and followed her out, catching her in the middle of the living room. I grabbed her shoulder and forcefully spun her around, gripping her shoulder tightly, I looked her in the eyes. They were full of anger and fear. There was no hiding it. She was scared of me. And at this moment, I didn't care.
"When I fucking tell you to do something, you fucking do it. And don't get me started on the amount of times you've been a smart ass. Now, go make us something to fucking eat!" I yelled, holding her shoulder even tighter than before, watching as she flinched at every word I said.
"You sound like my mother." She spat at me, her confidence boost catching me by surprise.
Slowly, I loosened my grip on her shoulder, enough for her to pry it away from me and run up the stairs. Letting out a groan of frustration, I sat on the couch, letting my head fall in my hands.
"Rough day?" A female voice reached my ears, making my head snap up.
"No it's fine." I replied, my tone harsh.
I recognized the girl as Riley, who replaced Sarah.
"You're tense, let me help you." She smiled at me, tugging on my arm.
I sighed and gave in, standing up and making my way up the stairs. Riley followed me into my room, where she sat down on my bed. Riley patted the spot next to her, motioning for me to sit down too. I obeyed and sat down, setting my elbows on my knees and my head in my hands.
"I was right, you are really tense." Her hands roamed around my back, pressing on the tense muscles.
Instead of replying, I let out a breath that I didn't know I was holding. Riley gripped my shoulders and started massaging them, relaxing me a little.
"Where have you been for the past week?" I asked, breaking the silence.
I turned to face her as she stopped touching me.
"I was out, doing some business." She replied casually, but some part of me didn't want to believe her.
Riley placed her hands on my shoulders and moved herself so she was now straddling me, placing her legs on either side of mine.
"I think you need to relax for a little while." She smiled warmly at me, massaging my shoulders lightly.
I bit my lip, only now realizing she was only wearing small, spandex shorts and a dark grey NYC cut off shirt with a lighter grey bandeau underneath.
I leaned up to her and placed my mouth on hers, kissing her roughly. She responded by kissing me back just as hard, and wrapping her arms around my neck. My hands found their way to her hips where I squeezed. Riley's hands wound through my hair and pulled on the ends. She opened her mouth and let my tongue explore. Her mouth tasted of strawberry mint, as if she just brushed her teeth.
I reached my hands so they cupped her ass and I squeezed, feeling how round her ass is. She moaned into my mouth and tugged on my hair. I removed my mouth from hers and placed it on her neck, kissing and sucking on the skin, smirking as she moaned loudly. She grinded her hips onto my crotch, causing me to stifle a moan.
Riley pushed me back, making me lay down. She was still straddling me, but she sat up. I watched as she took off her shirt, leaving her in her shorts and bandeau. Fuck she's hot. I bit my lip again as she lowered her head to my neck. I kept squeezing and feeling her ass as she sucked on my neck and ran her hands through my hair.
She sat up a bit, just enough for me to take off my shirt before she leaned down again. But this time, as she did so, I rolled us over so I was on top. Still not breaking the kiss, I kicked off my jeans, leaving me in my boxers. Riley arched her back and ground her hips into mine, making both of us moan.
I cringed at every single sound coming from his bedroom. The bed creaking, the loud moans and shouts. They all made me cringe with disgust. I've come to the conclusion that Ashton Irwin is a whore.
Letting out a groan of frustration, I stood up from my spot on my bed, and made my way to my door. As soon as I opened it, I saw a half naked Calum banging on Ashton's door.
"Shut the fuck up! Some people are trying to fucking sleep!" He yelled loudly, his fist smacking the door repeatedly.
"They're not going to stop, you know." I said, watching as he jumped a little.
"Shit, I didn't know you were there." He placed a hand over his heart as if he thought it wasn't beating.
"Sorry." I replied in a monotone.
"Were you trying to sleep too?" He awkwardly scratched the back of his neck.
"No, it's only half past eight." I said in the same tone as before.
Calum nodded his head slightly before biting his lip.
"You look tired though." He pointed out, while crossing his arms.
"There's a difference between being tired, and looking tired." I rolled my eyes, watching as his face fell slightly.
"True. Are you hungry then?" He uncrossed his arms and placed them by his sides.
"A little." I lied, I am actually starving.
"Great, let's get something to eat then." He clapped his hands together.
"Is it weird that we're still standing outside Ashton's door, talking while he's having sex." I asked, watching as Calum burst out laughing.
He was clutching his stomach as he leaned onto the wall for support, gasping for air and laughing uncontrollably.
"What? It's not that funny. It's weird." I groaned as he tried to sober up his laughter.
"It's funny." He replied breathlessly.
"Let's just get something to eat." I rolled my eyes and turned around, heading for the stairs.
Calum followed me as I skipped down the stairs and crossed the living room, opening the door to the kitchen. I held it open for Calum as he slipped in, closing it behind him.
"What should we have?" He asked, sitting on the counter and swinging his legs back and forth.
"I don't know," I replied, sitting on one of the stools.
"What about spaghetti?" He suggested.
We both got up and grabbed the supplies. I put a pan on the counter and Calum put the meat in, turning the burner on high. He got a pot out and put noodles in it so they would be ready when we pu them on. I stirred the meat around and watched as Calum got out sauce for the meat.
Once it was almost done cooking, we added the sauce and put the noodles on. Letting the meat simmer, we boiled the noodles till they were soft.
"I think we did a good job." Calum smiled proudly at me.
"Do you not know how to cook?" A small smile appeared on my face so he knows I wasn't insulting him.
"My mom and sister did all the cooking when I lived with them. Here, Luke cooks for us. So no, I don't." He chuckled and grabbed a plate.
I also grabbed one and put some noodles, then meat on and sat down at the table. Calum sat across from me and started eating.
"Jesus fucking Christ, this is the best spaghetti I have ever had." He moaned, wiping his mouth with a napkin.
"I learned it from my mom. She ran a cooking and baking class at home and sometimes I would help, so I learned a lot." I smiled sadly.
"Do you miss them? Like, your family?" He asked quietly, as if I might burst into tears at any second.
"Of course I do. I didn't leave them by choice." My tone hardened and I put my fork down, losing my appetite completely.
"I'm sorry. I know you didn't ask for this. I really am sorry." He aplogized, a sad look in his eyes.
"Like hell you are."
I rolled my eyes and got up, ignoring his sad and apologetic looks and pleads as I walked out of the room. I went straight to my bedroom and closed the door. It was silent, meaning Ashton was done doing whatever he was.
Tears brimmed my eyes as I sat on the window bed, looking out at the dark sky. The clouds were thick tonight, so no stars were visible, only a faint light shone through the clouds where the moon is. I hadn't even bothered to turn on the light, so the room was bathed in complete darkness.
As I stared at the trees, an idea came to me. I immediatly stood up, moving around and checking my side where I got my tattoo. It didn't hurt much, it stung a bit, but not too much.
I ran to the bathroom and brushed out my hair before throwing it up into a pony tail. I grabbed a back pack that sat in the corner of my room and stuffed it with a sweater, a pair of sweatpants, an extra shirt, and a flashlight that I found in the dresser. Lifting the bag up, I checked the weight, deciding it won't slow me down that much.
Hiding it under my bed, I opened the door and closed it behind me before going downstairs. No one was in the living room or kitchen, but Calum, I'm guessing, had cleaned up our spaghetti mess. I grabbed two bottles of water and exited the kitchen, running right into Luke.
"Shit, sorry." I mumbled and side stepped him.
"Thirsty?" He motioned to the bottles of water I had.
"My throat hurts." I lied through my teeth, hoping he'd buy it.
"We have cough medicine if you'd like." He didn't look convinced.
"I don't like medicine, it tastes gross. Plus, water is healthier." I replied before briskly walking away and up the stairs.
Once I was back in my room, I closed the door and left the light off, letting them think I was asleep. I put the bottles of water in the bag and zipped it up. It wasn't heavy enough to slow me down or hurt my shoulders, but it did add a small amount of weight.
I stayed in my black tights, but put on a loose, grey Toms tank top. I pulled on a Nirvana hoodie and threw my back pack over my shoulder. Leaning over the window bed, I pulled on the small, latch-like things, watching as they didn't move at all.
"Fucking hell." I groaned, realizing Ashton must have put a lock on it.
Sighing, I realized I'd have to go out through the front or back door. I set my bag under my bed again and laid on the floor by the door. The hallway light was on, and someone just walked past. Eventually, I decided to wait till everyone went to bed. Now, what do I do to kill time?
Deciding on reading a book, I grabbed Enclave off of the dresser and opened it up to the part I was at.
After forty more minutes, the light in the hallway went out and a door closed. Setting the book down, I quietly opened my door and peered out. It was all darkness, all the doors were closed and no lights were on. It's surprising really, it's only ten, they're usually up till two.
Silently, I walked through the house, making sure everyone was asleep. Thankfully, they were. I quickly grabbed my bag and stuffed the book in it before quietly closing my door behind me and making my way to the back door in the kitchen. I put on my converse and quickly looked behind me, making sure no one followed.
I unlocked and opened the door, keeping the light off, I walked out. The air was cool and goosebumps rose up on my skin, but it was fresh air. Closing the door, I briskly walked across the grass and over to the fence that seperated the backyard and the forest.
I froze, my bag half off of my shoulders. I turned around to see Riley there, in sweatpants and a t-shirt.
"Uhm, I can explain." I stuttered, my breathing ragged.
"I don't need an explanation. I know you're trying to leave." She placed her hands on her hips.
"Please, please, please don't tell anyone." I pleaded, hoping she was as nice as I thought.
"Don't worry, I'm not going to tell on you. Just hurry up and go, by the time they get up, you should be long gone." She said, wrapping her arms around herself and rubbing them.
"Thank you so much." I let out a breath of relief and turned around, chucking my bag over the fence.
I heard the back door close loudly, making me jump slightly. Taking a deep breath, I launched myself at the fence and grabbed onto the top. The fence was made of wood, but it was tall, and due to the moisture in the air, it was wet and slippery, making it hard for my feet to get a good grip.
Eventually, I got a grip and I lifted myself up. I sat on top of the fence, a leg on either side, and looked around. On the left side, my backpack sat on the ground, which was a few feet below me. On the right side, the house was dark except for one light that was on upstairs.
"What the fuck?" I whispered as I saw a few more lights turn on.
They knew. They knew I was gone. I could see movement in the house. A window was open and someone ran past it, heading for the stairs. Fear jolted through me, pulling me from my somewhat shocked state. I jumped down onto the ground, grabbing my bag and slinging it over my shoulders before blindly running into the forest. Behind me, I could hear people shouting out curse words and stuff banging around, but I didn't waste anytime on stopping to listen.
Stumbling over roots and brush, I propelled myself forward, dodging trees as they came into view. Knowing I was heading away from the house, I turned right, hoping to make it to the road. I could still hear people yelling and I couldn't tell if it was from behind me, or in front.
Finally, I stopped running, but I still walked. My lungs burned and the stitch in my side was hurting like hell. My right side stung a lot too, but I didn't stop walking.
After, what I assumed to be, a few more minutes, I stopped walking and sat down on the ground. I pulled my bag onto my lap and opened it. I pulled out a bottle of water and took a few sips before putting it back. That's when I heard it. The crunching of foot steps, the heavy breathing that didn't come from me. I pressed my back into the tree and made myself as small as possible, hoping whoever it was wouldn't find me.
Soon enough the footsteps stopped and so did the breathing. Deciding it would be best to get up and take advantage of the darkness, I stood up and took a breath before walking forward.
Arms wrapped around me and covered my mouth, taking me by surprise. I let out a scream but it was muffled by the persons hand as they dragged me through the brush.
"When we get back, you are in so much fucking shit." The Australian voice I was dreading to hear rang through my ears, paralizing me.
Groaning, I opened my eyes to see I was back in my room again. Flashbacks of last night ran through my head. Ashton dragging me back to the house, swearing and yelling at me, hitting me repeatedly till I blacked out. My hands and legs were tied together, making it almost impossible to move. Sighing, I laid on my stomach and brought my legs up behind me till my hands found the rope knot.
Thank god I'm flexible. I thought as the rope fell off my legs. I stood up from the bed and limped to the bathroom, pain shooting up my leg. I closed the door and turned around to look in the mirror. The rope wasn't too tight, but it was tight enough that I couldn't wiggle my hands out.
I opened a drawer and grabbed one of the razors that I had placed in there, and turned my back to the mirror again. Using the blade, I started cutting the part of the rope that my hands would reach. The rope went around my wrists and tied them together. My hands weren't useless, but they could do limited things, like cut the rope.
After a few minutes, I had cut through a part of the rope that made it loose, and slipped my hands out of it. Rubbing my wrist, I placed the blade back in the drawer and closed it before opening the bathroom door and making my way to the window. Opening the curtains, the sunlight shone through the window panes and right into my eyes. Blinking, I closed the curtains and went to the door. Testing the handle, I smiled as I realized it wasn't locked.
"How the fuck did you get out of bed?" Ashton was standing right in front of my door when I opened it.
He had black jeans on with both of the knees missing, and a grey and black, Nirvana cut off shirt on.
"You need to learn how to tie a proper knot, and get thicker ropes, and make them tighter if you want to keep me in place." I replied, raising an eyebrow as his shocked look turned into one of anger.
"Don't get fucking smart with me. How the hell did you get out of the house?" His voice was full of anger and he glared at me, crossing his arms over his chest.
"The back door." I replied, shrugging my shoulders.
"The back door?"
"Yes, the back door."
He let out a groan and he dropped his hands to his side.
"Well don't try it again." His voice was more calm now, but still angry.
"I'm going to keep trying even if it kills me." I said, my voice low, making him look me in the eyes as I stared him down.
Did you like her attempted escape ??? (:
So, new chapter up on Wednesday !!!
I was hoping to post this on Monday so I could have an extra day working on chapter 8, so I don't know if I'll get chapter 8 up on Friday, but it will be up before next Monday (:
