Ash and I stared at each other, confused. I was in the middle of telling a joke when suddenly Natasha ran out the door. We waited for her to come back, wondering why she ran out.
“Maybe she saw a bird hurt itself,” Ash suggested.
I shrugged my shoulders.
Suddenly we heard the front door open again, causing me and Ash to scramble up to see what happened. But instead of seeing Natasha with an injured bird, we saw her with that bastard named Calum Hood.
“WHY IS HE HERE,” I screamed, lunging out at him.
He cowered back, fear showing on his face.
“MICHAEL, STOP,” Natasha shouted, causing me to turn to her in shock.
“Luke didn’t wanna hang out with him since he had plans with Abby, so I was thinking he could come hang out with us?” she asked.
I sighed with relief when Natasha didn’t mention how she found me lurking around outside, staring at them through the window. I would’ve probably died from embarrassment if she did.
Michael and Ashton looked at each other uneasily, they were about to say no until they say Natasha’s pleading face. They sighed, giving in.
“Sure, why not,” Ash said wriggling around awkwardly, as Michael nodded in agreement, glumly.
I didn’t know if I was supposed to be happy or not, since it was obvious I wasn’t wanted here.
We stood there for a minute, an awkward silence filling the room. Finally, Natasha broke it.
“So,” she said, clapping her hands together. “Why don’t we play a game of truth or dare?”
I nodded in agreement, as Ashton and Michael grunted in response.
Another silence fell upon us. I thought about leaving, since they were having loads of fun before I came. Just as I was about to get up, Michael spoke up.
“I’ll start,” he said, narrowing his eyes at me. “Why did you hurt Natasha until she had to end up in hospital,” he spat, glaring at me.
“uh, you do know he’s supposed to choose truth or dare,” Natasha started to say.
“Shut up and let him answer the question,” Michael answered, glaring harder at me.
I gulped, not knowing how to respond. He continued to glare at me, growing frustrated and impatient.
“Well?” he asked.
“I was afraid,” I responded, looking down at my lap. “I was afraid that if I didn’t hurt or do anything bad to Natasha, Luke would hurt ME. That he’d start spreading rumours around about ME, because he hates Natasha and he doesn’t want any of his friends to have anything to do with her. He was really mad when he heard she was coming over to my house, even though it was for a project. I’m so selfish and stupid aren’t I,” I said, slumping down.
Everyone was still and silent, taking it all in.
“You don’t really like Luke do you,” Ash said quietly.
“I don’t hate him, but I don’t like him either,” I said, slouching down even further.
It stayed silent for a couple more minutes, none of us wanting to be the one to break it.
Suddenly, Natasha crawled in front of me, wrapping her arms around me. I wrapped her arms around her, burying my head into her neck.
“I’m so sorry,” I murmured, feeling guilty of myself.
“It’s ok. I forgive you,” she quietly said.
Ash pulled Michael out of the room, who reluctantly obeyed.
I sighed, burying my head even further into her shoulder.
I’m usually never happy, I was just less sad on some days, compared to other days. But surprisingly, right now, for the first time in ages, I was happy.
Today I had to draw myself and write down 5 things that I like about myself physically, and another 5 on what I like about my personality.
I wasn't able to bear drawing myself properly, and the page I was suppose to be writing on remained blank.
